Brancaia IL BLU 2001 Brancaia IL BLU is distinguished for its elegance, complexity and intensity. It is a blend of 50% Sangiovese, 45% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine ages 20 months in French barriques - 2/3 of them are new - and then matures 24 months in the bottle, prior to release. Blend: 55% Sangiovese, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon Alcohol: 13 vol% Harvest: 10.9. - 7.10.2001 Temperature of fermentation: Must contact: Maturing: Time of maturing: 30 - 32° C 18 days 2/3 in new barriques, 1/3 in used barriques 18 - 20 months in barriques, at least 6 months in the bottle Bottling: May 2003 Formats: 0.75L, 1.5L, 3.0L First year of production: Perfect with: 1988 Dishes with strong flavour, dark meat such as beef or lamb. Game - fried or stewed - dark wild fowl.
