su un circuito chiuso? Bene, e da poco
uscita una nuova versione dello stesso
gioco, arricchita di tutto cio che l'evo­
luzione tecnologica puo concedere. Si
chiama Nascar , e un prod otto Bay­
Tek e sara all' ormai prossima Enada
di Roma, pili precisamente allo stand
di Elmac.
L'azienda padovan a, sotto la dire­
zione del titolare Tiziano Tredese, non
e nuova a questo genere di proposte
rivoluzionarie . Con oltre 25 anni di
esperienza , l'azienda si e formata
prima nella progettazione, produzione
e riparazione di videogiochi di ogni
genere, poi anche nella gestione (sotto
forma di noleggio delle proprie mac­
chine direttamente ai locali) e infine
nell'importazione e distribuzione di
giochi finiti dei grandi marchi inter­
nazionali , con particolare attenzione
al mondo dei redemption, rna anche
a juke box, flipper e molto altro . E
in questo co ntesto che si inserisco­
no le orm ai pluriennal i collaborazio­
ni con aziende rinomate come Bay­
Tek , appunto ,

NEW GAMES FOR ALL
Do you remember Stock Car
Challenge, the redemption game
released a few years ago where 4 play­
ers challenged each other with radio
controlled cars on a closed circu it?
Well, a new version of the same game
has recently been released, enriched
with the latest technology. Called
Nascar, it is made by Bay-Tek and will
be on show at the upcoming Enada
Rome, precisely at the Elmac stand.
The company from Padova, under
the management of the owner Tiziano
Tredese, is not new to this type of revo­
lutionary proposal. With over 25 years'
experience, the company first dealt with
the design , production and repair of
video games, then the management
(by hiring its machines directly to bars
and arcades) and finally the import and
distribution of games by major inter­
national brands, with special focus on
redemption games, but also jukeboxes,
pinball machines and much more. It is
in this context that the company has
maintained long-term partnerships with
renowned names such as Bay-Tek ,
Benchmark and Five Star Redemption,
companies whose most recent prod­
ucts will be Elmac's strong points for
the upcoming autumn-winter season.
Back to Nascar, a game that the
Italian company would award "the
Oscar for the best technological inno­
vation in the field of ticket redemptions,"
this is a product in which Bay-Tek has
managed to combine two successful
elements, the NASCAR brand (a very
popular series of car races in the USA)
and the concept of the old Stock Car
Challenge with its cars to be driven on
a circuit inside of a sort of showcase.
The new feature that the company
refers to is the new way of transmitting
energy to the cars, by electromagnetic
induction : underneath the game are
specially shaped coils of copper wire
that create an electromagn etic field ;
inside the cars are other similar coils,
which capture this magnetic field and
transform it into electricity, powering the
motors and all the sensors on the cars.
The new technology replaces the old
transmission system involving sliding
conta cts and will surely be used for
many other future driving games. The
other major innovation is the use of a
video camera to measure the position
of the cars based on the colour, a tech­
nique that replaces the infrared system
that was SUbject to disturban ce from
the surrounding lighting . Th e gam e

is completed by two large LCD
screens that show the details
of the races, as well as special
video and sound effects that
recreate the American atmos­
phere of the game.
Another new release
from Bay-Tek pre­
sented by Elmac will
be Road Trip , a para­
graph 7a machine, that
is, with prizes that depend
on the skill of the player.
A display shows the des­
tinations of a hypotheti­
cal trip across the USA in
three stages, from New York
to Chicago, Denver and
Hollywood. The player has three
turns of the wheel available to reach
the number of miles necessary to
complete each stage and in each city/
level he/she can decide to stop with
the points scored or attempt the next
stage, with the possibilityto win bigger
prizes.
Two redemptions will also be the
new releases from Benchmark that
Elmac will present in Rome: Wheel
Deal X- Treme and Pop It For Gold
X- Treme 8.5, two new models of
already widespread games. The first
- a game in which the player always
wins, based on a luminous wheel
that , depending on the moment it is
released, hits one of a series of targets
with different values - is presented
here in the "centre arcade" version with
4 playing stations that can be used at
the same time, for a grand effect as
regards both the impact and the earn­
ings.
Pop It For Gold, on the other hand,
is a game that is taking hold due to
the high rotation of players, thanks
to a fast and enthralling game mode:
this involves stopping a hand that
rotates clockwise, in certain sectors:
the smaller the sector and the nearer
to 12 o'clock, the more the machine
inflates a balloon, earning points as
it inflates and winning the jackpot if it
bursts. The new version takes its name
from the dimensions (8.5 feet, that is,
around 260cm in height) and is there­
fore half-way between the previous two
versions, but is called X-Treme due to
the size of the balloonsto be burst, with
a diameter exceeding one metre!
Naturally, this is just a taste of the
machines that Elmac will present in
Rome, both new releases and already
successful products such as Galileo,
the automated system for the manage­
ment of redemption tickets, now also
available for application on bowling
lanes, through the Win Bowling ticket

il colore, tecnica che si sostituisce a
quella a raggi infrarossi che poteva
essere disturbata dall' illuminazione
circostante. gioco completato da
due grandi display Led che visualizza­
no i dettagli delle gare, oltre a video e
audio dedicati che ricreano l'atmosfe­
ra americana del gioco.
Altra novita Bay-Tek presentata
da Elmac sara Road Trip, un comma
7a, cioe con premi commisurati
all'abilita del giocatore. Un display
mostra Ie mete di un ipotetico viag­
gio attraverso gli Usa in tre tappe,
da New York a Chicago, Denver e
Hollywood. n giocatore ha a dispo­
sizione tre giri di ruota per raggiun­
gere il numero di miglia necessarie
a completare ciascuna tappa e a ogni
citta/livello puo decidere se fennarsi
con i punti raggiunti 0 tentare la tappa
successiva con la possibilita di vincere
premi migliori.
