_ Messaggio di benvenuto al Congresso
Benvenuti a Bologna per celebrare insieme il 16° Congresso Internazionale A.I.S.I., il cui tema centrale
è “L’evoluzione in Implantoprotesi: l’équipe”.
Per ottenere il successo a lungo termine delle riabilitazioni implantoprotesiche, sempre più richieste
dagli stessi pazienti, non basta essere un chirurgo abile ed esperto, ma è necessario avere una buona
capacità comunicativa con il paziente, in modo da stabilire con lui un rapporto di fiducia basato sulla
chiarezza, la disponibilità ad ascoltare, a spiegare e ad affrontare eventuali ansie e paure.
L’implantologo dovrà poi avvalersi dell’ausilio della radiodiagnostica, indispensabile per affrontare
in sicurezza la maggior parte dei casi; ma anche conoscere le tecniche più innovative di chirurgia mucogengivale e di rigenerazione dei tessuti, per ottenere una gestione ottimale sia dell’osso sia dei tessuti molli.
Poiché la fase chirurgica è solo un aspetto delle riabilitazioni implantoprotesiche, il cui successo
dipende dal perfetto connubio fra una buona chirurgia ed una protesi equilibrata, che garantisca al paziente
comfort, funzionalità ed una buona estetica, grande importanza assume il rapporto fra l’odontoiatra e
il suo odontotecnico. Solo tramite un lavoro di collaborazione fra le due figure professionali, infatti, si
possono raggiungere buoni risultati. E l’evoluzione avvenuta in questi anni nel settore odontotecnico può
fornire allo stesso implantologo un supporto fondamentale.
Appare dunque evidente l’importanza dell’équipe odontoiatrica, della quale fa parte anche l’assistente
di studio, che ha fra i suoi compiti anche quello di far sentire il paziente a suo agio e di favorire la corretta
comunicazione fra lui e l’odontoiatra.
Un rapporto costruttivo fra queste diverse figure, nel rispetto delle diverse autonomie e competenze,
è dunque alla base della buona riuscita di qualunque trattamento odontoiatrico, e in particolare delle
riabilitazioni implantoprotesiche.
E’ questo il filo conduttore delle giornate dell’A.I.S.I., che già nei Corsi pre-congressuali ha affrontato
tematiche interessanti e coinvolgenti non solo per il chirurgo, ma per tutto il team odontoiatrico, come la
corretta gestione dello studio odontoiatrico tramite tecniche di comunicazione e di marketing.
Il panorama delle relazioni è ampio e variegato, i docenti di grande prestigio. Mi piace ricordare, in
particolare, due amici americani dell’A.I.S.I., il Dr. Jack T. Krauser e il Dr. Avi Schetritt, autorevoli membri
dell’I.C.O.I., che da diversi anni ci onorano della loro presenza.
Un grazie particolare ad un altro grande amico della nostra Accademia, il Prof. Adriano Piattelli, che ha
accettato di presiedere questo nostro Congresso. Ne siamo particolarmente felici ed onorati, anche perché
di recente il Prof. Piattelli è stato insignito del Distinguished Scientist Award for Research in Prosthodontics
and Implants della I.A.D.R., la International Association for Dental Research, la più grande e importante
associazione mondiale di ricerca in Odontoiatria. Sarà per noi un vero piacere congratularci con lui e
festeggiarlo di persona.
Fra i Chairmen avremo il piacere di ospitare il Presidente del C.I.C., di cui anche l’A.I.S.I. è entrata
recentemente a far parte, Dr. Gianfranco Carnevale, che nel 2014 ha ricevuto dalla European Federation of
Periodontology il prestigioso riconoscimento Eminence in Periodontology Award.
Il ringraziamento dell’A.I.S.I. va però a tutti i relatori e ai Chairmen, compresi naturalmente quelli della
Sessione per Odontotecnici e del Seminario per Assistenti di studio.
Un grazie particolare a tutte le Aziende che anche quest’anno ci hanno dato il loro fondamentale
supporto nella realizzazione di questo evento.
Un’ultima nota per ricordare che al termine della prima giornata abbiamo organizzato, nella stessa
sede congressuale, un Aperitivo Cena, un momento di piacevole relax e di ristoro, che permetterà ai
partecipanti di gustare cibi e bevande, ma anche di muoversi in libertà, di ascoltare buona musica, di
curiosare fra gli spazi espositivi e di passare un po’ di tempo in relax ed allegria.
Non mi resta che augurare a tutti un buon Congresso!

_Welcome address to the Congress
Welcome to Bologna, where we are going to celebrate the A.I.S.I. 16th International Congress,
whose main theme will be this time “The evolution in Implant Prosthodontics: the team”.
In order to have long term successful implant prosthetic rehabilitations, treatments that
patients require more and more often, being a good and expert dental surgeon is not enough;
it is necessary to have a good communicative attitude with patients, so to create with them
relationships based on confidence, frankness, willingness to listen, to explain and in case to face
any anxieties and fears on their side.
An implant operator should also turn to Radiology as an essential aid to face safely most of
his cases; but he should also get familiar with the most innovative techniques of muco-gingival
surgery and of tissue regeneration to get an excellent management of both hard and soft tissues.
The surgical stage is only one aspect of implant prosthetic restorations, whose successful
outcome depends on the perfect match between a good surgery and a well balanced prosthesis
able to guarantee comfort, function and esthetics. That’s why the relationship between a dentist
and his dental technician is highly important. Only through a co-operation between these
two professionals good results can be achieved. And the recent evolution in the field of dental
technology can give a remarkable support to implantologists as well.
Dental Assistants play another important role in dental teams; and one of their tasks is to make
patients feel comfortable and to favor a correct communication between them and the clinician.
A good co-operative relation among these different roles, in compliance with their different
autonomies and competence, is then the basis for a successful outcome of any dental treatment,
and even more so of implant prosthetic rehabilitations.
This is the main theme of the A.I.S.I. congress days, that in the pre-Congress Courses have
already dealt with interesting and captivating topics for the whole dental team, such as the
correct management of dental clinics through communication and marketing techniques.
Lectures will deal with different topics, and speakers will be of undisputed prestige. I especially
like to underline the presence of two A.I.S.I. dear friends coming from the United States, Dr. Jack
T. Krauser and Dr. Avi Schetritt, prestigious Fellows of the I.C.O.I., who have honored us with their
presence for quite a few years.
Special thanks to another dear friend of our Academy, Professor Adriano Piattelli, who has
accepted to be President of our Congress. We are absolutely happy and honored, even more so
because Professor Piattelli has been recently given the Distinguished Scientist Award for Research
in Prosthodontics and Implants by the I.A.D.R., the International Association for Dental Research,
the biggest and most important world association of research in Dentistry. It will be a true
pleasure to personally celebrate and congratulate him.
Among the Congress Chairmen A.I.S.I. is pleased to welcome the President of C.I.C., Dr.
Gianfranco Carnevale, who received the prestigious Eminence in Periodontology Award from the
European Federation in Periodontology in 2014.
But A.I.S.I. wants to thank all the Speakers and Chairmen, including the ones of the Dental
Laboratory Session and the Seminar for Dental Assistants.
A special thank to the sponsoring companies who have given us their fundamental support to
make this event possible.
A last remark just to remind you that at the end of the first working day, in the same congress
venue, we have organized a Cocktail Party, a pleasant break of relax and refreshment, that will
allow participants to taste food and drinks, as well as to move around, to listen to good music, to
look around through commercial desks and to enjoy some relaxing and pleasant time.

More information about the Congress
• Lingua ufficiale del Congresso sarà l’italiano. Le relazioni presentate in lingua inglese e spagnolo
saranno tradotte in italiano tramite traduzione consecutiva.
The Congress official language will be Italian. Speeches presented in English and Spanish will be
translated into Italian consecutively.
• Una ricca Mostra Merceologica, con alcune delle più prestigiose aziende del settore odontoiatrico,
medico e dell’editoria scientifica affiancherà le sessioni congressuali. In occasione delle pause
congressuali e dei coffee break i partecipanti potranno visitare i vari stand per un interessante
aggiornamento su quanto di meglio offre il mercato del dentale.
A rich Commercial Exhibit, with some of the best known dental companies and scientific publishing
houses, will be set up throughout the three day congress events. Over coffee breaks and other
working breaks congress attendants will have the opportunity of visiting the exhibit for an interesting
updating on what dental market offers.
• NOVITA’ – Al posto della tradizionale Cena Sociale ci sarà quest’anno un più informale e piacevole
Aperitivo Cena con servizio a buffet nella stessa sede congressuale. Dalle 19.30 di venerdì 4 marzo,

Internazionale GRATUITAMENTE. Se desiderano ricevere gli 8,3 crediti ECM previsti
dovranno versare un contributo di ¤ 60,00, IVA inclusa.
All the A.I.S.I. Members who have paid their 2016 annual dues will have FREE
ENTRANCE to the 16th International Congress. If they wish to get the 8,3 ECM credits
they will have to pay a fee of ¤ 60,00, VAT-inclusive.
