Malcesine, sulla riva orientale del Lago di Garda, raccolto attorno allo svettante Castello
Scaligero ed allo storico Palazzo dei Capitani, conserva intatte le sue antiche origini
medievali. Il clima sempre temperato e salubre consente magnifiche passeggiate sulla pista
ciclabile, che si snoda per oltre dieci chilometri in riva al lago tra una lussureggiante vegetazione
mediterranea o tra i secolari uliveti dell’entroterra. In pochi minuti con una moderna funivia
dotata di cabine rotanti si raggiunge il Monte Baldo (1800 / 2218), “Orto botanico d’Europa”,
che d’estate è punto di partenza per meravigliose camminate, voli in parapendio o discese
in mountain bike, e dove in inverno, in un esclusivo scenario, si può sciare con una spettacolare
vista del Lago di Garda.
Malcesine, am östlichen Gardaseeufer gelegen und von der Scaliger-Burg und dem historischen
Palazzo dei Capitani überragt, konnte seine mittelalterlichen Ursprünge unangetastet erhalten. Das
ganzjährig temperierte, gesunde Klima erlaubt herrliche Ausflüge auf dem Radweg, der über mehr
als 10 Kilometer am Seeufer entlang durch eine üppige mediterrane Vegetation oder im Hinterland
durch jahrhundertealte Olivenhaine führt. In wenigen Minuten erreicht man mit der modernen
Drehkabinenseilbahn den Monte Baldo (1.800 – 2.218), den “botanischen Garten Europas”, der
im Sommer Ausgangspunkt wunderschöner Wanderungen, Paragleitflüge oder MountainbikeAbfahrten darstellt und sich im Winter für den alpinen Skisport vor einer einzigartigen Szenerie
mit einem großartigen Blick auf den Gardasee anbietet.
Malcesine, on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, gathered around its soaring Scaliger Castle
and historic Palazzo dei Capitani, preserves its ancient medieval origins intact. The climate is
always mild and healthy and ideal for magnificent walks along the cycle path that runs for over
ten kilometers along the lake shore, in the midst of lush Mediterranean vegetation, or through
centuries-old olive groves in the hinterland. In just a few minutes a modern aerial cableway with
rotating cabins climbs to the top of Monte Baldo (1.800-2.218), “Europe’s Botanical Garden”, the
starting point for marvelous summer walks, paraglider flights or mountain bike descents and a
point where in the winter, in unique scenery, skiers can enjoy their sport with marvelous views
over Lake Garda.

Il castello considerato il simbolo di Malcesine, riedificato
dagli Scaligeri intorno al 1300. Ospita nelle sue sale il Museo
di storia naturale del Monte Baldo e del Garda, la Sala delle
Galee e l’ex polveriera. Quest’ultima, costruita dagli Austriaci,
è dedicata a W. Goethe: al suo interno sono raccolti disegni
realizzati dal poeta in occasione del suo “Viaggio in Italia”. Nel
1902 il castello è stato dichiarato monumento nazionale.
Die von den Scaligern um 1300 wieder-aufgebaute Burg gilt als
Wahrzeichen Malcesines. Sie beherbergt in ihren Räumen das
Naturkundemuseum des Monte Baldo und des Gardasees, den
“Galeerensaal” und die Pulverkammer. In der ehemaligen, von
den Österreichern eingerichteten, die W. Goethe gewidmet ist,
sind einige Zeichnungen des großen Dichters ausgestellt, die
er auf seiner “Italienischen Reise” anfertigte. 1902 wurde die
Burg zum Nationaldenkmal erklärt.
The symbol of Malcesine is its Castle, rebuilt by the Scaliger
family around about 1300. Castle halls contain the Monte
Baldo and Garda Natural History Museum, the “Galley Room”
and the former powder magazine. It was built by the Austrians,
now dedicated to W. Goethe with several drawings made by
the poet during his “Trip to Italy”. The castle was declared a
national monument in 1902.

La cosiddetta “Sala delle Galee”, inaugurata nel 2013, è dedicata alla
storia della navigazione sul lago e alla nascita e all’evoluzione del
castello. Un filmato animato illustra la folle impresa del trasporto via
terra di una flotta da Venezia al lago di Garda.
Der im Jahr 2013 eingeweihte, sogenannte “Galeerensaal” (Sala delle
Galee) ist der Geschichte der Schifffahrt auf dem See, sowie der
Entstehung und dem Ausbau der Burg gewidmet. Ein Zeichentrickfilm beschreibt die wahnwitzige Unternehmung, eine Flotte auf dem
Landweg von Venedig bis zum Gardasee zu transportieren.
The “Galley Room” was inaugurated in 2013 and is dedicated to the
history of sailing on Lake Garda, as well as the establishment and
development of the castle. A video clip will show visitors the story
of the mad enterprise that entailed transporting an entire fleet
overland from Venice to Lake Garda.

Fu costruito dagli Scaligeri a cavallo tra il XIII e il XIV
secolo sopra resti romani e romanici. Ridotto a semplici
mura, forse a causa di un terremoto o di un incendio, fu
ricostruito in stile veneziano e sontuosamente decorato.
Nel 1618 Verona, su invito della Serenissima, comperò il
palazzo per adibirlo a dimora del Capitano del Lago. Nel
1902 è stato dichiarato monumento nazionale.
Von den Scaligern zwischen dem 12. und dem 14. Jahrhundert auf römischen und romanischen Überresten erbaut. Nach der Zerstörung durch ein Erdbeben oder einen
Brand, bei dem nur die Mauern erhalten blieben, wurde
der Palast vom Veroneser Francesco Mercanti erworben
und ging von ihm auf seine Söhne über. Gebäude bereits
im venezianischen Stil mit prächtigen Verzierungen. 1618
erwarb die Stadt Verona nach Aufforderung der Serenissima den Palast, um ihn als Residenz für den venezianischen
Gouverneur des Ostufers zu verwenden.
This structure, standing on Roman and Romanesque
ruins, was built by the Scaliger between the 12th and
the 14th centuries. After being reduced to mere walls,
perhaps because of an earthquake or of a fire, it became
the property of Francesco Mercanti of Verona and was
inherited by his descendents. Dating from 1477, show
the building already rebuilt in Venetian style and richly
decorated. In 1618 Verona, invited to do so by the
Serenissima Republic of Venice, bought the palace to
make it the residence of the Capitan of the Lake. In 1902
it was declared to be a national monument.

Il museo del Lago si apre sul porto di Cassone, un luogo
appartato e fuori dal tempo. Ami, reti, fotografie di vecchi
barconi a vela... Sull’esterno del museo, sono poste
due grandi vasche dove scorre l’acqua del fiume Aril.
All’interno anguille, cavedani e trote danno l’idea di come
doveva essere l’edificio nel suo aspetto originale, quello
di incubatoio.
Das Seemuseum liegt am Hafen von Cassone, einem abseits gelegenen, zeitlosen Ort. Es hält für den Besucher
reiche Ausstellkästen mit Fischereiutensilien bereit: Angelhaken, Netze, Fotografien alter Segelschiffe, ausgestellt in völlig unkonventioneller, aber eindrucksvoller Art.
Im Außenbereich des Museums befinden sich zwei große
Becken, die mit Wasser des Flusses Aril gespeist werden.
Die sich darin tummelnden Aale, Aitel und Forellen geben
einen Eindruck davon, wie das Gebäude ursprünglich ausgesehen haben muss, als es noch der Fischzucht diente.
The Lake Museum opens onto the Harbor of Cassone,
a secluded place from another time. It offers visitors
showcases richly replete with fishing memorabilia:
hooks, nets, photographs of old sailboats - all displayed
in an informal manner, which has great impact, however.
Two large vats outside the museum collect the flow of
water from the Aril River. They contain eels, chubs and
trout, which give visitors an idea of the original aspect of
the building, which was an incubator.

A spectacle all year round Mount Baldo is also known as the
Garden of Europe because of the variety of plants and flowers

Pesce, agrumi e olio d’oliva, in un unico piatto un mix di
sapori tipici del lago di Garda
INGREDIENTI: una trota salmonata da 1 kg circa, 3 limoni del
Garda, 1 arancia, olio extravergine d’oliva del Garda.
PREPARAZIONE: Pulite la trota e sfilettatela. Lavate i filetti
e poneteli a macerare per ventiquattro ore in succo di limone
ed olio extravergine d’oliva. Tagliate i filetti a fettine sottili,
bagnateli con altro olio e guarniteli con la buccia d’arancia
tagliata a bastoncini. Accompagnate la trota con crostini di
pane caldo e riccioli di burro.

La bellissima falesia di Cassone, aperta nel 2012, è opera dell’impegno della nuova associazione
melsinea d’arrampicata sportiva Ma.Rock. La falesia dei MAROC si trova a Cassone, a 4 km a sud
di Malcesine. I maroc di Cassone sono 4 blocchi di roccia nel bosco attrezzati per l’arrampicata e
comprendono anche una zona boulder. Ci sono 23 vie, di diversa difficoltà, dai 10 ai 18 mt di lunghezza.
La falesia è ideale per bambini e famiglie e per chi si vuole avvicinare a questo sport. I maroc sono poco
frequentati, in zona ombreggiata. La falesia è arrampicabile tutto l’anno, solo con bel tempo.

10 bis 18 Meter Länge. Die Wände sind ideal für Kinder und Familien, die diesen Sport ausprobieren
möchten. Die MAROC sind für gewöhnlich nicht überfällt und das Gebiet ist sehr schattig. Man kann dort
das ganze Jahr über klettern, jedoch nur bei Schönwetter.

ZUBEREITUNG: Säubert die Forelle und filetieren Sie sie.
Wascht die Filets und legt sie in den Zitronensaft und Olivenöl
für vierundzwanzigstunden zum verzehren. Schneidet die Filets in dünnen Streifen, befeuchten Sie sie mit noch ein wenig

TROUT FILLETS WITH CITRUS
Fish, citrus and olive oil in a single dish, a mix of flavours
typical of Lake Garda
INGREDIENTS: one salmon trout of about 1 kg, 3 Garda
lemons, 1 orange, Garda extra virgin olive oil.
PREPARATION: Clean and fillet the trout. Wash the fillets and
marinate for twenty four hours in lemon juice and extra virgin
olive oil. Cut fillets into thin slices, dip in some oil and garnish
with orange peel cut into sticks. Serve trout with hot toasts
and butter curls.
