A’ DI GIANNI è un centro che nasce nel 1999 come società senza
fini di lucro, intesa, quindi, a promuovere l’allevamento del PSA
a vantaggio degli appassionati senza proporsi un utile diretto dalla sua attività, ad opera di un gruppo di allevatori molto appassionati del
cavallo arabo. Questa finalità è rimasta nel tempo, anche nel corso degli
anni e dei cambi dei consigli di amministrazione. Ca’ di Gianni, possiamo
dirlo senza paura di essere smentiti, nel giro di pochi anni ha conquistato
un posto di assoluto livello mondiale nel training e nella gestione dei più
importanti clienti internazionali del settore.
Punti di riferimento e motori del Centro sono il General Manager Giampaolo Gubbiotti, meglio conosciuto come Woody, che da sempre cura
l’amministrazione ed i rapporti commerciali e Paolo Capecci che ha iniziato a collaborare con il Centro nel 2001 come trainer-handler e responsabile
della gestione, della scuola e della preparazione dei cavalli alle gare.
Attorno a Paolo e Giampaolo ruota uno staff particolarmente qualificato,
ma anche affiatato, che assicura competenza ed esperienza e che, nel corso
del tempo, si è ampliato ed adeguato alle continue richieste di una clientela
sempre più estesa ed esigente.

non-profit organization with the purpose of breeding
purebred Arabians to the benefit of horse lovers but without obtaining profit directly from its activity. The founders are
a group of breeders who have an enormous passion for the Arabian horse. The business purpose has been kept throughout these
years, even though the times and Boards have changed. We can
confidently say, without the risk of being proved wrong, that over
a few years Ca’ di Gianni established itself as a worldwide leader
in training and managing some of the most important clients in
this sector.
The driving forces behind this Center and its reference points
are the General Manager Giampaolo Gubbiotti better known as
Woody, who has always been responsible for the administration
and trade relations, and Paolo Capecci, who started to work for
the Center in 2001 as trainer-handler and manager, responsible
for the school and the training of horses for competitions.
Revolving around Paolo and Giampaolo is a highly qualified
but also close-knit team, which ensures competence and expertise.
Over the years the staff has grown and adapted to the ever-changing demands of a growing number of selective customers.
The services offered by the Center fully cover all the needs and
requirements of breeders: training and management of horses at
shows, advice on raising visibility and promoting horses, marketing information, management of fresh and frozen semen, how
to handle mares in foal, management of promotion on the most
important sector magazines.
In the last few years, many among the most important international studs as well as small Italian and European breeders
have taken advantage of the professionalism of Paolo Capecci and
the Center for the preparation and presentation of their horses in
shows.

Romania. Al suo arrivo a Ca’ di Gianni, sette anni fa, Toader, proveniente

program that Paolo and the food vet prepare every week, and
deals with the training of the horses, especially the exercises on
the treadmill and with ridden horses. Toader has become a key
figure, a guarantee that every horse will always be looked after
by a scrupulous expert. Woody adds, with a smile on his face, that
Paolo is always more irritable when Toader is on vacation, as he
has become his alter-ego.
Key strengths in the staff are undoubtedly the assistant trainers,
Claudio and Diego.
Claudio was born in Sao Paulo (Brazil). He has been working
with Arabian horses for fifteen years and has carried out roles
of responsibility in prestigious centers such as the Stud Training
Center of Zico Guardia and other Brazilian studs.. This first

sempre un po’ nervoso quando Toader, che oramai è considerato il suo
“occhio” in sua assenza. è in ferie dal lavoro.
Punti di forza dello staff sono indubbiamente gli assistent-trainer, Claudio

Claudio è nato a San Paolo del Brasile; lavora i cavalli arabi da quindici
anni ed ha avuto esperienze ed incarichi di responsabilità in centri prestigiosi come lo Stud Training Center di Zico Guardia in Brasile ed in altri
centri brasiliani. Questo curriculum di prim’ordine sarebbe da solo una
garanzia di grande esperienza e preparazione. Con Paolo si sono subito
intesi sul piano umano che nella metodologia di lavoro. Claudio - dice
Paolo - ha la sensibilità, la pazienza, oltre che la preparazione, che gli permette di capire il cavallo e di farsi capire da lui rispettando il suo carattere”.
Claudio, a Ca’ di Gianni, cura la “scuola” di base del cavallo secondo un
programma definito assieme a Paolo e, all’occorrenza, conduce la presentazione negli show.
Diego Zoppellaro è un giovane di ventitre anni che “ha l’arabo nel sangue”.
Alleva cavalli arabi con i genitori dal 1991 e, facendo salti mortali prima
con lo studio e poi con il lavoro, ha avuto esperienze in centri come “Le
Querce” di Alberto Sala, poi con Gilberto Oberti e presso “Le Groane”
di Marco Franchini. Diego ha sempre prediletto linee di sangue russe e
polacche che, a suo parere, si distinguono per la capacità di apprendimento,
per la stabilità mentale e per il grande movimento.

Diego Zoppellaro is a 23-year-old man who has “the Arabian
horse in his blood”. He has been breeding with his family horses
since 1991. After successfully juggling between his studies and
work, he has had work experience at centers like “Le Querce” of
Albero Sala, with Gilberto Oberti and at “Le Groane” owned by
Marco Franchini. Diego has always preferred the Russian and
Polish bloodlines which, in his opinion, stand out thanks to their
learning abilities, mental stability and great movement.

Tre anni fa ha cominciato una serie di brevi stage presso Ca’ di Gianni,
come stanno facendo altri giovani.

the updating of clients records and assists Woody in managing
the office.
When you visit Center, you are struck by the great harmony that
you can feel, the sense of friendship and respect that dominates.
Giampaolo Gubbiotti proudly highlights the atmosphere of friendship and confirms his great trust in “the guys”, because they are
able to combine professionalism and enthusiasm but, above all,
they passionately live an experience that would otherwise be very
draining without the “fuel provided by the bond with the horses
and friendship”.
Considering the way the facilities are laid out at Ca’ di Gianni,
there is no doubts that you can share your life and socialize, whereas the rigorous work organization ensures that everyone is well
aware of their tasks. But behind the group’s efficiency there is a
network of human relationships, to which the Center’s managers,
with their availability and openness, have given great importance. Last but only in terms of time is Susy Gurschler, Paolo’s partner with an in-depth knowledge of conformation PBA – together

Dopo una visita nel Centro si rimane colpiti dalla grande armonia che si
percepisce, dal senso di amicizia e di rispetto che regna.
Giampaolo Gubbiotti con orgoglio sottolinea il clima di serenità e testimonia la sua grande stima per i “ragazzi” perché sanno unire professionalità
ed entusiasmo e, soprattutto, vivono con amicizia e passione una esperienza che sarebbe logorante senza “la benzina dell’attaccamento al cavallo e
dell’amicizia”.
Certo, a Ca’ di Gianni le strutture permettono anche spazi di vita in comune e di socializzazione, mentre la rigorosa organizzazione del lavoro fa
si che ciascuno conosca i suoi compiti. Ma dietro all’efficienza del gruppo
c’è un tessuto di rapporti umani a cui i responsabili del Centro, con la loro
disponibilità e schiettezza, hanno dato grande importanza. Non da ultima,
se non in ordine di tempo, la collaborazione di Susy Gurschler, compagna
nella vita di Paolo e profonda conoscitrice di p.s.a. da morfologia avendo
assieme al padre Otto, in Austria suo paese di origine, l’allevamento “Magic Arabians” da molti anni. La sua grande esperienza e polivalenza, la
rende la persona adatta ad un ambiente professionale come quello di Ca’
di Gianni.
Il Centro si compone di 90 box suddivisi in: area cavalli in preparazione;
area stalloni; area fattrici gestanti, blocco box per quarantena; blocco box
per soste temporanee; 12 sono i paddoch; 2 i ring di cui uno coperto. Il
Centro è dotato di un ambiente per la medicazione, box parto ed un’ampia
club house. gli ultimi rinnovamenti fatti nel 2008 hanno portato altri otto
box più un tondino coperto molto utile alla lavorazione dei cavalli durante
l’inverno.
Presso il centro opera una clinica mobile per prelievo e congelamento seme,
un servizio di embrio transfer seguito dal Dott. Rubei.

I cavalli vengono seguiti dal Dott. Fabrizio Venturi, specialista in ortopedia
e medicina sportiva. La ginecologia viene seguita dal centro dalla Dott.sa
Enrica Cariagli e dal Dott. Simone Coleschi. Il maniscalco del Centro è
Filippo Zoffoli che lavora sempre unitamente al Dott. Fabrizio Venturi per
risolvere le, a volte, complicate situazioni riguardanti l’ortopedia.
Il quartiere per i groom, collegato direttamente alle stalle, permette un
controllo continuo dei cavalli.
Presso il Centro Ca’ di Gianni, particolare importanza è attribuita a medici
veterinari, cui si riconosce non solo il ruolo di intervento nei casi si emergenza ma il compito di consigliare ed intervenire per garantire la prevenzione dei rischi, la crescita armonica, la salute e il benessere degli animali.
Questa una breve sintesi delle loro esperienze professionali, il Dott. Rubei
Massimo si è laureato in Medicina Veterinaria presso la Facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria di Perugia nel 1996, ha svolto poi dal 1996 al 2000 un
dottorato di ricerca in Ostetricia e Ginecologia Veterinaria presso la stessa
Facoltà.

years in her native Austria. Thanks to her long experience and
versatility, she is the right person for a professional environment
such as Ca’ di Gianni.
The Center consists of 90 loose boxes subdivided in: area for horses
in preparation, stallions area, area for mares in foal, box block for
quarantine and box block for temporary stays. There are 12 paddocks and 2 rings, one of which indoors. Facilities at the Center
include also a medication room, a foaling box and a large clubhouse. The latest renewals made in 2008 have added further 8
loose boxes as well as an indoor ring, very useful when working
with horses in winter.
A mobile clinic operates at the center, which collects and freezes
semen and provides an embryo transfer service followed by Mr.
Rubei.
The horses are followed by Fabrizio Venturi, specialized in orthopedics and sports medicine. Responsible for gynecology is Mrs.
Enrica Cariagli and Mr. Simone Coleschi. The Center’s farrier is
Filippo Zoffoli, who works very closely with Fabrizio Ventury to
resolve the complex orthopedic situations that sometimes arise.
From the grooms’ area, thanks to its direct link to the stables, it is
possible to constantly monitor the horses.
At the Center Ca’ di Gianni, particular importance is attributed
to the veterinarians, whose task involves intervening in emergency cases but also to advise and be directly involved to ensure
risk prevention, harmonious growth, health and wellbeing of the
horses.
Below is a brief summary of their professional experience. Massimo Rubei graduated in Veterinarian Medicine at the University
of Perugia in 1996. From 1996 through to 2000 he studied for a
doctorate in Veterinarian Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the same
University.

I suoi campi di ricerca sono la crio-conservazione del seme, lo studio del
plasma seminale, la inseminazione profonda e l’embryo-transfer. È autore
e co-autore di circa 40 pubblicazioni scientifiche sia di carattere nazionale
che internazionale.
Il Dott. Fabrizio Venturi all’età di 12 anni si avvicina al mondo dei cavalli
e arriva a montare ottenendo il patentino di primo grado ed a partecipare
a numerosi concorsi ippici nazionali ed internazionali. Nel 1998 partecipa
come aiuto veterinario ai World Equestrian Games di Roma.
Laureato nel 2000 all’università di Bologna, ha svolto studi e ricerche nel
laboratorio di bio-meccanica del cavallo dell’università di Utrecht. Ha prestato la sua opera presso la clinica equina della comunità di San Patrignano.
Libero professionista dal 2002. Collabora con l’Arabian Training Center
dal 2005.
Non c’è che dire, Ca’ Di Gianni è proprio il Centro che cercavate, dove il
rispetto per il cavallo arabo trionfa, sotto ogni punto di vista. q

Stud (Dra) in 2000-2001 and of the Toniatti Stud (Jet) from
2002 to 2006.
His research fields are cryopreservation of semen, study of seminal
plasma, deep insemination and embryo transfer. He is the author
and co-author of approximately 40 scientific papers published at
national and international levels.
Fabrizio Venturi started riding horses when he was 12, obtained
the first-degree riding licence and took part in numerous national
and international riding competitions. In 1998 he takes part in
the World Equestrian Games in Rome as assistant veterinarian.
After a degree obtained in 2000 at the University of Bologna,
he carried out studies and researches in biomechanics of the horse
at the University of Utrecht. He worked at the horse clinic in the
San Patrignano Community. Self-employed since 2002. He has
collaborated with the Arabian Training Center since 2005.
Needless to say, Ca’ di Gianni is truly the Center you were looking for, where the respect for the Arabian horse triumphs from
