PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BULLETINS IN THE PEWS, TAKE THEM HOME WITH YOU FOR EASY REFERENCE DURING THE WEEK. THANKS. BAPTISM OF THE LORD National Day of Prayer and Fasting On Wednesday, January 22, 2014, a quarter of a million people or more will gather in Washington, D.C. to commemorate and protest the 41st Anniversary of the decision of the United States Supreme Court that legalized abortion into the fabric of our society as a Right. . History has taught us that any nation that kill its own citizens, born or unborn, for self-gratification, age, or act of mercy, is definitely on the road to self destruction. Every day in the United States the number of abortions committed surpasses the number of innocent people that were killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Americans were enraged when this atrocity happened because the dead all had faces that we could recognize and love. But when the atrocity of abortion takes place in the mother’s womb, little attention or feeling is expressed by our society because of the “invisible” faces that are not seen and are treated as un-human. This type of ruthless and merciless mentality needs conversion, and reeducation on the dignity and respect of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death. The bishops of the United States have requested that Wednesday, January 22nd be a day of prayer and fasting in reparation for all the atrocity is committed against human life every day in the United States and around the world, and to join in solidarity with the thousands who will be marching for LIFE in Washington, D.C. We at Sacred Heart will do our part on that Wednesday. We will begin with Mass at 7:00 AM in the Chapel of the Holy Spouses, Mary and Joseph, followed by Exposition and Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament until 12 Noon, at which time Benediction will take place. We urge everyone to set apart a time for prayerful Adoration before the REAL PRESENCE of Jesus, or to reflect and pray in your home, office, school, lunch break, driving to or from work asking for forgiveness of past offenses against our families, friends, neighbors, classmates coworkers, or HUMAN LIFE itself, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you make a good confession that will lead you and our nation to a conversion to a Culture of Respect for All Human Life. During adoration the rosary will be prayed each hour on the half-hour beginning at 7:30 AM, and the Litany for Life will also be prayed after each rosary. Join us at this most important hour in the history of our great land of the United States of America. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR VOCATIONS TO THE PRIESTHOOD AND THE RELIGIOUS LIFE.
