The strategy to exploit them is simple and
revolutionary: simple because it consists of

expertise already present on the territory,
revolutionary because creating an entrepreneurship synergy sounds irreverent to the widespread corporate mentality that tends to jealously preserve its know-how. But times are

Gli strumenti per competere e vincere sono qui
e ora. La strategia per accedervi è semplice e
rivoluzionaria: semplice perché consiste nell'organizzare un network di saperi progettuali e
tecnologici già presenti sul territorio, rivoluzionaria perché la creazione di una sinergia
imprenditoriale suona sacrilega alla mentalità
aziendale diffusa che tende a conservare gelosamente il proprio know-how. Ma i tempi stanno
cambiando.
L'unione fa la competitività

“Spin On is the answer to the awareness that
in a turbulent market such as the current one,
by joining the expertise of several companies
we can increase the possibility of remaining
competitive and of successfully completing job
orders that are increasingly complex. - says
Marco Manzoni business development manager
for Nuova Termostampi - Synergy is one of the
best answers and we have managed to put it
into practice by creating an entrepreneurial
feeling and a network of know-how. The idea
that drives the industrial network established
in July 2013 between FAE s.r.l., FAE++ s.r.l. and
Nuova Termostampi S.p.A. is the integration of
products, services and processes to offer the
customer a turnkey product: it is called Spin
On, acronym for Strategic Partnership for
Industrial Network. It was developed and
tested on the solidity of the realization of a
touch screen control unit for industrial use: we
at Nuova Termostampi have dealt with all the
plastic parts; FAE++ with the engineering and
electronic development, and FAE with the pro-

imprenditoriale e un network di conoscenze.
L'idea che guida la rete d'impresa costituita nel
luglio 2013 tra FAE s.r.l., FAE++ s.r.l. e Nuova
Termostampi S.p.a. è l'integrazione di prodotti,
servizi e processi per fornire al cliente un prodotto chiavi in mano: si chiama Spin On, acronimo di Strategic Partnership for Industrial
Network. Si è sviluppata e collaudata nella concretezza della realizzazione di una consolle
touch screen per uso industriale: noi di Nuova
Termostampi ci siamo occupati di tutta la parte
plastica, FAE++ dell'engineering e dello sviluppo
elettronico, e FAE della produzione della scheda
elettronica, assumendosi anche il ruolo di capocommessa per il ruolo preponderante giocato
dalla componente elettronica e software. Si
tratta di un HMI (human machine interface), un
dispositivo elettronico necessario al controllo di
un macchinario, in questo caso impiegato in
ambito tessile: di per sé mobile per le dimensioni contenute ed il peso ridotto – ha un touch
screen di 12,1” -, nella sua operatività è montato su piantana a bordo macchina. Si interfaccia
direttamente alla macchina ed il software di
funzionamento è basato su sistema Windows
embedded, che è possibile aggiornare ad esigenza con nuove release realizzate sia dall’engineering FAE++ sia dal cliente.
Poliarilammide vince alluminio
“Il case che accoglie l'elettronica deve rispondere a requisiti di affidabilità molto rigorosi perché
l'ambiente di destinazione è abbastanza critico.
- prosegue Manzoni – Viene stampato a iniezione
in materiale plastico e sostituisce il modello precedente realizzato tramite fusione di alluminio:
è molto più leggero e, allo stesso tempo, resistente, perfettamente protetto dall'ingresso di
polveri, presenti in misura massiccia negli stabilimenti tessili, e dall'azione dell'umidità, una
costante climatica nei Paesi del Medio Oriente ai
quali principalmente è destinato il prodotto.
Pertanto, questo case è stato collaudato per
diverse migliaia di cicli sottoponendolo a vibrazioni e umidità relativa anche oltre il 100%. Per
garantire la stabilità dimensionale e strutturale
necessaria, senza venir meno ad un aspetto fondamentale quale è l'estetica, abbiamo scelto
una poliarilammide, Ixef di Solvay Specialty
Polymers, caricato con il 50% di fibra di vetro.
La particolarità della matrice polimerica unitamente all'elevata percentuale di fibra ha richiesto temperature particolarmente alte nel ciclo
di stampaggio, come prescritto dalla scheda tecnica del materiale, e una progettazione molto
accurata dello stampo: la fluidità del materiale
a queste temperature è tale che è facile si sviluppino bave o che trabocchi se la meccanica di
chiusura dello stampo non è precisa al centesimo. Il case è composto da due elementi, la base

itself mobile for its limited dimensions and
reduced weight- it has a 12,1” touch screen- in
its operating it is assembled on an upright next
to the machine. It directly interfaces to the
machine and the operating software is based on
the system Windows embedded that it is possible to update when needed with new releases
developed both by FAE++ engineering and by the
customer.
Polyarylamide wins aluminum
“The case that hosts the electronics must
respond to very rigorous reliability requirements
because the destination environment is very critical. - says Manzoni - It is in injection molded in
plastic material and replaces the previous
model made by aluminum die casting. It is much
lighter and, at the same time, resistant, perfectly protected against the entrance of
powders that are massively present in textile
factories and by the action of humidity, a consistent climatic element in Far East countries to
which the product is mainly destined. Hence
this case has been tested for several thousands
of cycles, subjecting it to vibrations and related
humidity over 100%. To ensure the required
dimensional and structural stability, without
neglecting the fundamental factor of esthetics,
we have chosen the polyarylamide Ixef by Solvay
Specialty Polymers filled with 50% glass fiber.
The peculiarity of the polymeric matrix, together with the high percentage of fiber has
required especially high temperatures in the
molding cycle as prescribed for by the technical
card of the material, and a very accurate design

e la cornice, realizzati con Ixef, e da un separatore in ABS che consente di assemblare la parte
touchscreen del monitor opportunamente integrato e isolato con materiali siliconici. Il mantenimento della planarità e la stabilità dimensionale sono stati cruciali poiché ogni minimo scostamento dalle misure previste avrebbe compromesso l'assemblaggio del prodotto e l'ermeticità
della chiusura. Il dispositivo è prodotto in un
solo colore customer e presenta sulle superfici a
vista una lieve rugosità , ottenuta con fotoincisione della matrice, funzionale all'ergonomia di
uno strumento di lavoro da usare in un ambiente piuttosto difficile, con requisiti si estetici ma
comunque diversi da quelli che avrebbe richiesto un tablet destinato al mercato consumer”.
Un modello produttivo
La rete Spin On è nata, dunque, realizzando un
prodotto concreto, attraverso “l'attuazione del
miglior design for manufacturing. – puntualizza
Marco Manzoni - L'efficace sinergia che siamo
riusciti a sviluppare, la complementarietà delle
nostre diverse professionalità ci hanno convinto
a promuovere la Rete presso i nostri clienti, ma
in questa prima fase non abbiamo inteso vincolarci nemmeno ai nostri rispettivi business. Il
contratto di rete prevede un modus operandi
per identificare le credenziali dei potenziali
clienti: innovazione, dinamismo, alta tecnologia,
che peraltro accomunano anche gli stessi membri della rete, virtualmente aperta all'ingresso di
altri membri e di altre tipologie di prodotto,
purché condividano questi requisiti. 'Accendendo'
il valore aggiunto dell'outsourcing possiamo fornire al cliente un servizio di affiancamento tecnico a 360°: attraverso un unico referente realizziamo un prodotto dedicato ai settori EMS
Global Class (automazione industriale, medicale,
vending, areospaziale, ferroviario e sicurezza),
prendendoci in carico il progetto sin dall'inizio e
sviluppandolo fino al completamento con un
presidio diretto, garantendo un time to market
decisamente rapido. A tale proposito, in questa
fase stiamo lavorando a un'integrazione di processo ancora più spinta, mettendo a fattor
comune competenze e know-how e creando una
dorsale comune da cui attingere le competenze
di ciascuno: lo sviluppo di un software condiviso
consentirà la costante interazione tra gli uffici di
ingegneria e industrializzazione delle rispettive
aziende semplificando drasticamente il flusso di
informazioni da e verso il cliente”.

these temperatures is such that it is easy for
burrs to develop or that it spills out if the closing mechanics of the mold is not extremely
precise. The case is made of two elements, the
base and the frame, made with Ixef and an ABS
separator that allows assembling the touch
screen part of the monitor appropriately integrated and isolated with silicon materials. The
preservation of the flatness and dimensional
stability has been crucial because each slightest
variation of the expected measures would have
jeopardized product assembly and sealproof
closing. The device is manufactured in only one
customer color and on its surfaces there is a
visible roughness, achieved with photoengraving of the matrix, functional to the ergonomics of a work instrument to be used in a critical
environment, with esthetic requirements yet
different from those that would have been
required by a tablet destined to the consumer
market”.
A productive model
The Spin On network is thus born, realizing a
solid product through the “implementation of
the best design for manufacturing. - says Marco
Manzoni - The effective synergy we have succeeded in developing, the complementarity of our
different professional expertise, have convinced us to promote the Network with our customers but in this first stage we have not intended to bind ourselves to our respective businesses. The network contract includes a modus
operandi to identify the credentials of potential customers: innovation dynamism, top technology which are also shared by the members
of the network, virtually open to other members and other product typologies, as long as
they share these requirements. By exploiting
the added value of outsourcing, we can supply
to the customer a technical support service at
360°, through a single partner we realize a product dedicated to the EMS Global Class sectors
(industrial automation, medical, vending, aerospace, railway and safety), taking care of the
project from the very beginning and developing
it until it is completed with a direct supervision, ensuring a truly fast time to market. To
this regard, at this stage we are working at a
process integration that is even more daring,
sharing expertise and know-how and creating a
common base from which we can draw from
the expertise of each member; the development of a shared software will allow the consistent interaction between the engineering and
industrialization offices of the respective companies, drastically simplifying the flow of information to and from the customer”.
