Ministero dei beni e delle attività culturali e del turismo INIZIATIVE ISTITUZIONALI MiBACT IN OCCASIONE DELLA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA 2014 Direzione generale per il paesaggio, le belle arti, l’architettura e l’arte contemporanee Iniziativa istituzionale del Ministero dei beni e delle attività culturali e del turismo, promossa dal Servizio architettura e arte contemporanee della PaBAAC - Direzione Generale per il paesaggio, le belle arti, l’architettura e l’arte contemporanee, in occasione della Biennale di Venezia 2014 ODILE DECQ ODILE DECQ ODILE DECQ Odile Decq set up her own office just after graduating from La Villette in 1978 and from Sciences Politiques Paris in Urban Planning in 1979. International renown came quickly in 1990 with the Banque Populaire de l’Ouest in Rennes. She was awarded with a Golden Lion in Venice in 1996. After the MACRO in Rome, the Opera Garnier’s restaurant in Paris, the FRAC Museum in Rennes she completed GL Events headquarters in Lyon. Odile Decq’s work is a complete universe, including urban planning, architecture, design products and art. Recently Odile Decq was awarded the Woman in Architecture prize “Prix Femme Architecte” and the “Médaille de Vermeil et d’Honneur“ from the French Académie d’Architecture. In addition to the studio, Odile Decq has been teaching since 1991. She has been guest teacher in prestigious universities like Columbia in New York, Bartlett in London, Kunstakademie in Vienna and Düsseldorf. In France she taught at Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris from 1992 to 2007 and was head of the school from 2007 to 2012. Her passion for teaching has brought her in 2014 to create with Matteo Cainer the Confluence: Institute for Innovation Creative Strategies in Architecture in Lyon which proposes « to cross prospective and experimental visions, and to question and go beyond implicit limits of architecture ».
