WORKING WONDERS FOR
OUR FAITH……
An engineer, a banker, an advertising
executive, an athlete... these are some
of the men who have decided to answer God’s call to dedicate
their lives to the service of God and the salvation of souls. They
come from all walks of life, backgrounds, skill sets, ethnic
communities, ages and economic situations. At ShareLife funded
agencies such as Serra House, Redemptoris Mater, and St.
Augustine’s Seminary, they undergo extensive formation,
theological education and practical field training. Through
ShareLife, you are helping sustain the vocations for priesthood and
inspire discernment for God’s call. I n 2009. ShareLife helped
support 70+ priests and sem inarians in their form ation
studies
Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised $26,677.85 so
far, which will be distributed to Sharelife’s 34 agencies!

Monday, May 23rd is Victoria Day. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00
a.m. The office will remain closed all day. HAPPY HOLIDAY!
First Communion & Practice Schedule
If your child has been prepared for First Communion, and will be
receiving Holy Communion next Sunday, May 29th at 3:00
p.m., we ask that you please be in church for a practice on
Tuesday, May 24th at 6:30 p.m. Please call the office if you
have any questions.
Monthly Parish Memorial Mass

On Friday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m., we will celebrate a Memorial
Mass in honour of our loved ones. If you have a friend or
family member whose birthday, anniversary or anniversary of
death took place during this month, we invite you to attend
this special Mass in their honour. During this celebration, their
names will be called one by one. As the name is called, a
family member comes forward to the Altar and receives a lit
candle. They then remain close to the sanctuary for the
duration of the Mass. Please call the office with the name you
wish to have mentioned.
The Pope’s Pastoral Works
This annual collection will be taken up next weekend (May
28/29th). Please pick up an envelope at the back of the church.
Calling all Confirmation
Candidates
In preparation to receive the Sacrament of
Confirmation, we ask that you please bring
your Mass journals to the parish office at
133 Westmount Ave. anytime this week, or
in church this weekend, but before May
23rd! We ask that you also take note of your Confirmation date
and the corresponding practice date. Practices take place
in the church at 6:30 p.m.
Please remember that
presence at the practice for Confirmation is mandatory for
BOTH candidate and sponsor. If a sponsor cannot be
present at the practice, another adult must take his/her
place for the rehearsal.
Stella Maris School - Practice - Monday, May 30th - 6:30 p.m.

Holy Hour for Vocations
Holy Hour takes place in the church from 6 – 7 p.m. this 1st Friday,
June 3rd following the 5:30 p.m. Mass. We will have Exposition of
the Blessed Sacrament, Meditation, Confessions and ending with
Benediction. Confessions are available from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. &
also from 6 – 7 p.m. This is to pray for an increase in Vocations to
the priesthood and religious life. Please come pray with us.
Feast of St. Anthony
We are planning the Feast of St. Anthony for
Sunday, June 12th. We will gather at 3:30 p.m. in
front of the church and begin at 4:00 p.m. with
our annual procession in the neighbourhood,
followed by the blessing of bread and of the
children. Parishioners are invited to decorate
their balconies; Altar servers and children who
made their 1st Communion are invited to come
dressed in their 1st Communion dresses and suits
and to follow in procession with St. Anthony.
PILGRIMAGE TO THE SHRINES
IN QUEBEC
Our parish will be on pilgrimage to the
Shrines of Quebec from Monday, July
25, to Thursday, July 28th. We will be
leaving the parish on Monday morning,
July 25, and make our way to Montreal
where we will visit and enjoy the city.
Early the next morning, Feast of St.
Anne, we will be making our way to the
Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupré, St.
Joachim, and Quebec City.
The
following day, we will visit the Shrine of Our Lady of the Cape,
returning the next day via Montreal, where we will stop at St.
Joseph’s Oratory. Cost is $439 based on double occupancy and
includes transportation, 3 nights accommodation, 3 breakfasts and
1 lunch. Please visit the office for an itinerary or to register.

Redemptoris Mater e il seminario di S. Agostino, questi
uomini vengono formati nell’educazione teologica e
nell’esperienza pratica.
Tramite ShareLife, aiutiamo a
sostenere le vocazioni al sacerdozio e sosteniamo il
cammino dei seminaristi nel discernere la chiamata di Dio.

Pellegrinaggio ai santuari del quebec
La nostra parrocchia terrà un pellegrinaggio al Santuario di
Sant’Anna nel Quebec, da Lunedì, 25 luglio, a giovedì, 28 luglio.
Partiremo dalla parrocchia presto lunedì mattina e ci fermiamo a
Montreal dove visiteremo la città. Pernotteremo a Montreal, e di
mattino presto ripartiremo per la Città del Quebec ed il Santuario
di Sant’Anna e S. Gioacchino. L’ indomani, visiteremo il Santuario
di Notre Dame du Cape, con ritorno la prossima giornata per via di
Montreal, dove ci fermeremo all’Oratorio di S. Giuseppe. Il prezzo,
come l’anno scroso, è di $439 basato su doppia occupazione e
include il trasporto, pernottamenti e colazione per tre giorni e un

Quest’anno,
celebreremo
la
Festa
di
Sant’Antonio con la nostra processione,
domenica 12 giugno. Ci raduneremo davanti
alla chiesa alle 3:30 p.m., per iniziare alle 4:00
p.m.. Seguira’ da benedizione del pane e dei
bambini. Se avete qualche stendardo, siete
invitati a portarlo e siete anche invitati ad
abbellire le vostre verande. Incoraggiamo la
partecipazione dei bambini che hanno
celebrato la loro Prima Comunione e dei chierichetti.
