BAPTISM & CHRISMATION: You must be a registered and active member of this parish. Please inform the Church Office when your child is born. Arrangements should be made with the Church three (3) weeks in advance of the date you desire to have your child Baptized and Chrismated. Godparents must be baptized, at least age 14 and must provide a letter of “Good Standing” from their lawful pastor. If you have any questions, please make an appointment. MARRIAGE: You must be a registered member of this parish and fulfilling your financial obligations to the parish. Allow a minimum of six months for all necessary preparations including pre-marriage sessions. The Code of Canons for the Oriental Churches (CCEO) makes this time frame an absolute necessity. Exceptions will be made only for extreme, valid reasons. THE COUPLE TO BE MARRIED SHOULD THEMSELVES CONTACT THE CHURCH PRIOR TO MAKING ANY OTHER ARRANGEMENTS. SICK CALLS: Please notify the Parish Office or one of the priests as soon as possible if a family member is in the hospital or nursing home. Please also notify us if any family member is a shut-in. Please take time if you are able to spend some time before the Lord in adoration and thanksgiving. LOOKING BACK As we take this occasion to pause and look back on 2013, let us call to mind the hard work, maintenance and improvements that were made to our beautiful Church and grounds: Installed a new marble sub-altar for the preparation of the gifts in the Church. Updated lighting and installed new windows in Classrooms. Remodeled main entrance into Office Hallway and installed new windows. Replaced ceiling tiles with a new suspended ceiling and lighting in Office Hallway and Gathering Room Hallway. Replaced with new ceramic tile floor of Office Hallway and Gathering Room Hallway. Freshly painted walls throughout entire complex. Men and Women’s Restrooms were totally remodeled with new sinks, suspended ceiling, new lighting and fans. Installed a new 200 AMP electric subpanel for greater electrical usage outdoors. Installed “St. Sharbel Catholic Community” Monument over entrance to Office Hallway. Concrete sidewalk repairs. New carpet installed in Banquet Hall. New carpet and runners in Church Lobby and Office Hallway. Water damaged walls repaired in Activity Hall. 27 Furnaces maintained with 9 major repairs made. New gas lines installed. Considerable ongoing maintenance of roof. Major Catering Kitchen upgrades made. Sprinkler system repaired. Ongoing maintenance of landscaping, tree trimming, gardens St. Laba Shrine beautifully re-landscaped by members. Church Tower Bell refurbished and painted. Cross over the Bell Tower was refinished. Main Concrete Church Monument [on Schoenherr Road] was refinished. Sign on gable roof of Church was refinished. New liturgical vestments, liturgical elements, and new Mass books. Stained glass windows installed in Visitation Room [cry room]. New sound system installed in Church. New software ParishSoft Program implemented. Because of your kind generosity, we were able to maintain our beautiful home, spiritual sanctuary, and social gathering place at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church. May God continue to bless you with His love and peace this new year as we worship together as a faith community.
