Il Consorzio Portofino Coast non ha fini di lucro e fin dal suo nascere si prefigge di valorizzare la destinazione e la promozione turistica del territorio in cui operano i propri associati, proponendosi di intraprendere tutte le azioni necessarie ad assicurare il
mantenimento e l’ulteriore incremento del Turismo. Per il raggiungimento dei suoi fini, il Consorzio promuove programmi a breve e a lunga scadenza per potenziare tutte
quelle attività di sostegno esistenti o di quelle che potranno realizzarsi in futuro,
avendo ben presente la tutela dell’ambiente e la diffusione della positiva immagine
del territorio, delle sue cittadine, dei suoi porti, del suo entroterra, innescando un
procedimento di sviluppo e di propaganda di questa destinazione e creando i presupposti per una fattiva collaborazione tra pubblico e privato. L’espressione Portofino
Coast è parte integrante della denominazione sociale del Consorzio e del marchio registrato dello stesso, non corrisponde ad alcuna precedente denominazione ed è stata ideata dagli stessi fondatori del Consorzio per identificare la loro aggregazione e il
territorio rappresentato. Per questo motivo il Consorzio Portofino Coast agisce ai sensi della legge nei confronti di chi adotti, come ditta, denominazione o ragione sociale, insegna e nome o dominio aziendale un segno uguale o simile al marchio del Consorzio se, a causa di questa identità o affinità, possa determinarsi un rischio di confusione per il pubblico che può consistere anche in un rischio di associazione fra i due

As President of the Consorzio Portofino Coast, a tourist organization that, since 1987, represents the most prestigious hotels and services in this area, I am particularly pleased to extend a warm welcome to all
the readers of our magazine, the privileged showcase for the landscape, cultural and artistic beauties of
this splendid corner of the Riviera.
Choosing Italian Riviera for a holiday, a weekend, an event or a meeting, means finding the charm of a destination that has been able to maintain in the course of time all its main qualities: a busy but also relaxed
life, far from everyday stress and a beautiful landscape where it is possible to relax and distract oneself,
in a right balance for body and mind.
The beautiful resorts overlooking the sea, such as Portofino, Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure, Camogli
and Sestri Levante have international reputation and clientele and best represent the very spirit of this
coast, with the pleasantness of its scenarios, the shimmer of its colors, the authenticity of its atmosphere, which never disappoint.
But even the smallest villages, like the quiet Zoagli, with its typical creuze that climb the slopes of the
hills, Moneglia with its limpid waters, Recco with its prestigious gastronomy tradition, or cities like Chiavari with its elegant historical centre or Lavagna with its wide beaches, offer unforgettable experiences.
For the lovers of nature the coast offers the blooming Mount Portofino Park and, inwards, a lush hinterland that reaches the highest peaks of Appennino Ligure in the Regional Park of Val d’Aveto.

ust ask an American, an Englishman or an Australian the locations
that he would like to visit in Italy: his reply will always contemplate,
inevitably, Portofino. The reputation of our little village by the sea has
in fact no borders and every celebrity from business, politics, arts,
sciences and show biz has passed through there at least once in their
lifetime. In the past, the poet Salvator Gotta dedicated one of his famous novels to the village, the hero Luigi Durand de la Penne, the
Olympic Nedo Nadi, the painter Andrea Cascella wanted to become
citizens of the village, Liz Taylor and Richard Burton spent wonderful
days there, even Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy remained enchanted by
the bay of Portofino. And even today there is no celebrity that does
not like to come here, Robert De Niro, Liza Minnelli, Alain Delon, George Clooney, Madonna, Denzel Washington, Ringo Starr, Barbra Streisand. The fame of Portofino and its coast also hosted several episodes
of the television series Beautiful a few years ago. What is the magic of
this place? To understand it better you should come early in the morning or in the evening, maybe even at night, before the crowding of the
tables in the romantic Piazzetta, when silence and stillness rule and
that wing of homes opens before us, appearing like a colurful theatrical stage, with polychrome flowers boxes on the terraces: it is the silent witness to the magic of the place. It seems like being in the twilight zone, where the position of everything you see seems to have
been designed to make it even more fascinating. Moored in the bay,
megayachts belonging to members of royal families, finance and show
biz that are accustomed to spending some time in this place, beautiful
by day, almost unreal at night, with its rooms overlooking the sea and
the village. You have to take a deeper look thorough it, to enjoy all its
magic. Like a beautiful woman it is not available to everyone. You may
desire it, look for it, but not always find it. It may appear early in the
morning in small cobblestones damp with frost in the early morning,
as well as while calmly tasting a piece of freshly baked focaccia by Mariangela Canale going down to the Piazzetta. Or in quick gestures of
one of the last fisherman who sews his fishnet with patience, smoking
an old pipe. We can also glimpse in the caves of its small alleys or the
new stroll going from the pier to the Castle with unforgettable views.
A magic, that of Portofino, which remains in your heart and that is why
it has given its name to Portofino Coast, the area that our Consortium
has valued and promoted successfully for over twentyfive years and
this magazine recounts to those who have always come here or visit
this place for the first time. A timeless and ageless magic that lies at the
Hotel Splendido, in a priceless location, excellent services designed for
the younger such as the nature trails dedicated to wellness. Or even in
the small Eight Hotel located in the village. There are number of walks
you can do from Portofino on the homonymous Monte and up to the
lighthouse that offers glimpses of untouched nature dotted with villas
hidden behind boxwood hedges.

SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE
Santa Margherita is framed by its port where megayachts can moor.
‘Santa’ as the locals call it, includes charming hotels that meet
every need and desire, such as the Grand Hotel Miramare, the important annual conference of Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria has been held here for over forty years, where along with economists and politicians the current economic situation is discussed.

hosts, along with recreational boats, a fleet of fishing boats. Rich in
tourism resources at every level, Santa offers from elegant restaurants to pizzerias in a dozen beaches; also wine bars, cocktail bars,
clubs. There are also many cultural opportunities ranging from classical music concerts to antique exhibitions, to the mundane nights
out of the ordinary. In the historical centre, a church dedicated to
Santa Margherita of Antiochia, behind which rises to a knoll overlooking the waterfront, where Villa Durazzo springs up, immersed
in a beautiful park. Baroque jewel, embellished with statues, tapestries and paintings, marble and crystals from Murano, also houses
an art gallery. Through the park on the black and white cobbled
avenues, there is the enchanting spectacle of the gardens with different architectures, rare old trees and neoclassical sculptures. In
the far east, the church of San Giacomo di Corte stands with its
beautiful baroque facade, and the Capuchin monastery heading
down towards the sea, built between 1606 and 1611, from which you
can admire the imposing silhouette of the castle. Remaining in the
area of Santa Margherita, the tours to the top are not to be missed
that the particular configuration of the city offers, with incredibly
beautiful scenes immersed in nature. Above all, the climb to Nozarego, where you can enjoy a unique view, with the Gulf of Tigullio,
the city and Monte di Portofino. We must not forget, along the picturesque road to Portofino, the Abbey of Cervara, a former convent
converted into a venue for very prestigious and elegant events.
RAPALLO
It is the largest city of the territory and is rich in history also because it was home to the famous treaty between Italy and Yugoslavia in the Twenties and also has some buildings that date back in
time, such as the ruins of the Valle Christi monastery. Rapallo, whe-
re there is also one of the most prestigious golf courses, is a real
town full of activity, in the centre of Tigullio, which is characterized by its maze of ancient and modern buildings, although different, coexist harmoniously. Its heart is on the seafront shaded by
large trees which, through a narrow passage leads to the old village. Above the gallery arch, a stone plaque recalls that the poet Ezra Pound lived in that house for a long time. But in Rapallo, even
Theodore Roosevelt, Pope Gregory VII, Arturo Toscanini, Sibelius,
Franz Liszt and Guy de Maupassant stopped by. Among the architectural symbols of the city, the castle stands out, once used to
control the invasions from the sea, now the headquarters of interesting exhibits. Villa Tigullio hosts the International Library and the
Merletto Museum, the Auditorium of the Clarisse, turned into an
impressive and modern prose theatre, cinema, concert hall and
conference centre. The Carlo Riva port is an important reality, crea-

We recall that the European Union was created also in Santa Margherita, when in February 1951 the halls of Miramare hosted the Italian and French delegations, gathered to discuss some issues of
major importance. These included the possibility of a customs
union, bilateral relations, the establishment of a European army, the
role of Germany and the admission of Italy to the United Nations.
Let’s not forget that Santa Margherita, in a sense, created the radio:
Guglielmo Marconi carried out his first transmission experiment right here... if he hadn’t, then today maybe we would not have mobile phones. What makes Santa Margherita even more charming is
its peculiar appearance, which highlights the contrast between its
abundant natural landscapes and the construction and architectural features ranging from characteristic fishermen's houses to patrician villas and the already mentioned large hotels. The harbour, surrounded by numerous boutiques, has a long tradition of fishing and

is considered the ‘parlor’ of sailing in the Mediterranean with its 900
berths including 400 private yachts from 6 to 40 meters. Equally prestigious and already appointed, the 18 hole golf course of Golf Club
and Tennis Rapallo, which was the first in Italy to be certified to accommodate players with special needs. The Club organizes national
and international tournaments and has recently opened a Golf and

leave Rapallo without going up, by cable car or by car, to the sanctuary of the Montallegro Virgin Mary, about 600 meters above sea

La notorietà del nostro piccolo borgo sul mare non ha infatti confini e ogni personaggio famoso dell’industria, della politica, delle arti, delle scienze e dello spettacolo vi è passato almeno una volta nella vita. tavolini della romantica Piazzetta, quando il silenzio e la quiete sono padroni e si
apre dinanzi a noi quella quinta di case che paiono un palcoscenico teatrale con
i loro colori e le fioriere policrome sui terrazzi: è il muto testimoniare la magia del
posto. Pare di trovarsi in una dimensione fuori del tempo, dove la posizione di
tutto ciò che si vede sembra sia stata decisa a tavolino per renderla ancora più af-

fascinante. Ormeggiati nella baia, megayacht appartenenti a esponenti delle famiglie reali, della finanza e dello spettacolo che sono soliti trascorrere qualche
tempo in questo luogo, bellissimo di giorno, quasi irreale di notte, con i suoi locali che si affacciano sul mare e sul borgo. Occorre osservare allora profondamente, per gustare a fondo questa magia: come una bella donna non è disponibile per tutti, si fa desiderare, cercare e non sempre la si trova. Può apparire in
un acciottolato umido di brina al primo mattino, come anche nel gustare con
calma un pezzo di focaccia appena sfornata di Mariangela Canale scendendo
verso la Piazzetta. O nei gesti veloci di uno degli ultimi pescatori che cuce con
pazienza le sue reti, succhiando la vecchia pipa. La possiamo anche scorgere negli antri dei suoi piccoli vicoli o nella nuova passeggiata che dal molo ci porta al
Castello fra panorami indimenticabili. Una magia quella di Portofino che resta a
lungo nel cuore e che per questo ha dato il nome a Portofino Coast, il territorio
che il nostro Consorzio valorizza e promuove con successo da oltre vent’anni e
che questa rivista racconta a chi vi giunge da sempre o per la prima volta. Una
magia senza tempo e senza età che trova nell’Hotel Splendido, in una posizione
impagabile, servizi d’eccellenza studiati anche per i più giovani come i percorsi
natura dedicati al benessere. O anche nel piccolo Eight Hotel sito nel borgo. Da
Portofino sono numerose le passeggiate che si possono fare sull’omonimo Monte e fino al faro che offre scorci di natura ancora vergine puntellata di ville nascoste dietro siepi di bosso.
RAPALLO
È la città più grande del territorio ed è ricca di storia anche perché fu sede del
famoso trattato tra Italia e Jugoslavia negli Anni venti e possiede inoltre alcuni edifici che rimandano indietro nel tempo, come le rovine del monastero Valle Christi. Rapallo, dove sorge anche uno dei campi di golf più prestigiosi, è una
vera cittadina piena di attività, al centro del Tigullio, che si caratterizza per il
suo groviglio di costruzioni secolari e moderne che, sebbene diverse, convivono armoniosamente. Il suo cuore è sul lungomare ombreggiato da grandi palme da cui, attraverso uno stretto passaggio, si accede al borgo antico. Sopra
l’arco della galleria, una targa in pietra ricorda che in quella casa soggiornò a
lungo il poeta Ezra Pound. Ma a Rapallo si fermarono anche Teodoro Roosevelt, papa Gregorio VII, Arturo Toscanini, Sibelius, Franz List e Guy de Maupassant. Tra i simboli architettonici della città, spicca il Castello, un tempo utilizzato per arginare le invasioni provenienti dal mare, oggi sede di interessanti
mostre. Villa Tigullio ospita la Biblioteca Internazionale e il Museo del Merletto, l’Auditorium delle Clarisse, trasformato in un suggestivo e moderno teatro
di prosa, cinema, sala concerti e centro congressuale. Realtà importante è il
porto Carlo Riva, nato da uno dei pionieri della nautica da diporto che nel 1975
iniziò a realizzare quello che è considerato il “salotto buono” della nautica nel
Mediterraneo con i suoi 900 posti barca di cui 400 privati per barche da 6 a 40
metri. Altrettanto prestigioso il già nominato campo di golf a 18 buche del Circolo Golf e Tennis Rapallo, che è stato il primo in Italia a ottenere la certificazione per l’accoglienza di giocatori disabili. Il Club organizza tornei nazionali e internazionali e ha recentemente aperto una scuola Golf e Tennis per i più
giovani. Anche Rapallo ha i suoi hotel d’eccellenza tra i quali ricordiamo l’Excelsior Palace Hotel, cinque stelle lusso, con la sua vista impagabile sul golfo
anche dalla piscina a sfioro e un grande e modernissimo centro congressi. Il
Grand Hotel Bristol Resort & SPA, sulla strada panoramica verso Zoagli, può
vantarsi di un nuovo centro benessere di assoluta eccellenza e di un ristorante con vista sulla baia. Non si può lasciare Rapallo, infine, senza salire, con la

funivia o in auto, al Santuario di Nostra Signora di Montallegro, a circa 600 metri di altitudine: da qui, il panorama è davvero indimenticabile. Portofino Coast è insomma luogo ideale per una vacanza da sogno e un soggiorno memorabile, così anche per l'organizzazione di un evento importante, come un romantico matrimonio, un meeting o un incentive di qualità nell'affascinante cornice

SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE
Santa Margherita è incorniciata dal suo porto dove possono ormeggiare anche
i megayacht. “Santa”, come la chiamano gli habitué, annovera alberghi di charme capaci di soddisfare ogni esigenza e desiderio, come il Grand Hotel Miramare, sede da oltre quarant’anni dell’importante congresso annuale dei Giovani di Confindustria nel quale si discute, insieme a economisti ed esponenti politici, della situazione economica del momento. Si ricorda inoltre che l’Unione
Europea è nata anche a Santa Margherita, quando nel febbraio 1951 le sale del
Miramare ospitarono le delegazioni italiana e francese, riunite per discutere alcuni temi di notevole rilevanza. Fra questi l’ipotesi di un’unione doganale, i rapporti bilaterali, l’istituzione di un esercito europeo, il ruolo della Germania e
l’ammissione stessa dell’Italia alle Nazioni Unite. Non dimentichiamo poi che a
Santa Margherita è, in un certo senso, nata la radio: Guglielmo Marconi effettuò proprio qui il suo primo esperimento di trasmissione… se non fosse riuscito
oggi forse non avremmo i telefonini. Ciò che rende ancora più affascinante Santa Margherita è il suo aspetto peculiare, che mette in risalto la contrapposizione fra paesaggi naturali di cui è ricca e le costruzioni architettoniche che vanno
dalle caratteristiche abitazioni dei pescatori alle ville patrizie e ai già citati grandi alberghi. Il porto, contornato di numerose boutique, ha un’antica tradizione
di pesca e accoglie, assieme alle barche da diporto, una flotta di pescherecci.
Ricca di risorse turistiche a ogni livello, Santa offre dall’elegante ristorante alla
pizzeria e una dozzina di stabilimenti balneari; inoltre enoteche, american bar,
discoteche. Molteplici anche le opportunità culturali: dai concerti di musica
classica alle mostre di antiquariato, alle notti mondane fuori dall’ordinario. Nel
centro storico si incontra la chiesa dedicata a Santa Margherita di Antiochia,
dietro la quale si sale a un poggio dominante il lungomare, dove sorge Villa Durazzo, immersa in un pregevole parco. Gioiello barocco, arricchito di statue,
arazzi e dipinti, marmi e cristalli di Murano, ospita anche una pinacoteca. Attraversando il parco sui viali in acciottolato bianco e nero, si osserva l’incantevole spettacolo dei giardini dalla diversa architettura, le sue rare piante secolari e le sue sculture neoclassiche. Nella parte più a est, sorge la chiesa di San Giacomo di Corte con la sua bella facciata barocca, e scendendo verso il mare il
convento dei Cappuccini costruito tra il 1606 e il 1611, dal quale si può ammirare l’imponente sagoma del Castello. Restando nel territorio di Santa Margherita, sono imperdibili le escursioni verso l’alto che la particolare configurazione
della città offre, con scenari incredibilmente suggestivi immersi nella natura. Su
tutte, la salita verso Nozarego, da cui si gode di una vista unica, con il Golfo del
Tigullio, la città e il Monte di Portofino. Non si può dimenticare, lungo la pittoresca strada verso Portofino, l’Abbazia della Cervara, antico convento trasformato in luogo per eventi fra i più prestigiosi ed eleganti.

Mount Portofino Park history and technology combine to provide visitors with an immersive experience.
Clips recounting episodes that occurred during last world war, video interviews and testimonies, documents and photographs
compose the indoor itinerary, while mini iPad with a dedicated
App display animations of the recreation of armaments and history of the military site.
Outside, sixteen panels with QR codes accompany visitors along
the path that leads to a bunker, a gun emplacement for machine
guns, cannons and anti-aircraft artillery, ammunition depots and
remains of the barracks.
The so called “Batteria di Punta Chiappa” was built in 1939 by Italian Army as an anti-aircraft defense of the port of Genoa. Transferred to “Wehrmacht” after September 8, 1943, it was reinforced and adapted to German standards to oppose to possible Ally landings in North of Italy.
As of this year, Mount Portofino Park has opened to the public
the visitor centre, providing not only an opportunity to dive into
the past but also into nature. Indeed, the path that leads to this
historical location offers beautiful panoramas over Ligurian coast, from the Gulf of La Spezia to Capo Mele, permitting also to
visit San Fruttuoso, with its unique Abbey by the sea, Mortola and
San Rocco di Camogli.

f Sabrina thinks of Liguria, the first memory that comes to mind
is that of a fun-filled summer in Portofino and the outskirts,
aboard an elegant yacht together with many friends. Sabrina
Brazzo was 18 and the occasion was to celebrate her graduation
at La Scala. Born in Venice, in a family of hoteliers, globetrotters,
Sabrina came to Milan at the age of 10 to enter the Teatro alla
Scala Academy upon her mother's decision, who attentively recognized her talent. Her virtues in terms of grace, natural talent for
dance and tenacity bloomed early and her gift, like that of every
great artist, was there, ready to show her the way. “Those were
years of absolute dedication” reveals Sabrina, “I lived in a boarding school, I studied and danced; a very strict Anna Maria Prina
ran the school; only distraction - watch videos of famous dancers
and going on vacation with my parents who, like most of the Milanese, had chosen Liguria, where we spent many summers, in between Rapallo and Santa Margherita”. Despite the great sacrifices
imposed by her choice, Sabrina never questioned herself. Her life
was devoted to dance. Her talent was discovered by a gentleman
named Nureyev, who chose her for “Swan Lake”, triggering her extraordinary career. Her great successes included the encounter
with the fabulous dancer Andrea Volpintesta, born in Cosenza,
arrived at La Scala in 1998 and immediately captivated by the prima ballerina, and only to win her over after insistent courtship
and a romantic declaration in Piazza San Marco in Venice. Today,
Sabrina and Andrea are an extraordinary couple, in life and in the
theater, and promoters of an exceptional cultural initiative, JAS
ART (where JAS stands for Joseph, their son, Andrea, Sabrina). The
main objective behind the project is to select young talented
dancers to participate in their productions. In Liguria, where they
danced together on stage at Carlo Felice, they keep coming back
even today, and dream of soon being protagonists of a
show in the magical Piazzetta of Portofino.

e pensa alla Liguria il primo ricordo che le ritorna in mente è quello di una divertentissima estate a Portofino e dintorni, a bordo di un elegante yacht insieme a molti amici. Sabrina Brazzo aveva 18 anni e l’occasione era festeggiare il
suo diploma scaligero. Nata a Venezia in una famiglia di albergatori giramondo,
Sabrina arrivò a Milano all’età di 10 anni per entrare all’Accademia del Teatro alla Scala su decisione della madre, attenta riconoscitrice del suo talento. Le sue
virtù in fatto di leggiadria, predisposizione alla danza e tenacia infatti sbocciarono prestissimo e il suo dono, come quello di ogni grande artista, era lì, pronto
a indicarle la strada. “Furono anni di dedizione assoluta” ci svela Sabrina, “vivevo in collegio, studiavo e ballavo; a dirigere la Scuola c’era la severissima Anna
Maria Prina; unica distrazione guardare video di ballerini famosi e andare in vacanza con i miei genitori che, come la maggior parte dei milanesi, avevano scelto la Liguria, dove abbiamo trascorso molte estati spostandoci tra Rapallo e Santa Margherita.”
Nonostante i grandi sacrifici imposti dalla sua scelta, Sabrina non si pone mai
domande. Nella sua vita non c’è altro se non la danza. Ad accorgersi della sua
bravura un signore di nome Nureyev, che la scelse per fare “Il Lago dei cigni”, dando avvio alla sua straordinaria carriera, sempre in ascesa. Tra i suoi più grandi successi l’incontro da favola con il ballerino Andrea Volpintesta, cosentino di nascita, arrivato alla Scala nel ‘98 e da subito ammaliato dalla prima ballerina che
conquisterà solo dopo un insistente corteggiamento e una romanticissima dichiarazione in Piazza San Marco a Venezia. Oggi Sabrina e Andrea sono una coppia straordinaria, nella vita e in teatro, e promotori di un’eccezionale iniziativa
culturale, la JAS ART (dove JAS sta per Joseph, loro figlio, Andrea, Sabrina). Obiettivo principale alla base del progetto selezionare giovani ballerini di talento e
farli partecipare alle loro produzioni. In Liguria, dove hanno ballato insieme sul
palco del Carlo Felice, continuano a tornare anche oggi, e sognano di essere protagonisti presto di uno spettacolo nella magica Piazzetta di Portofino.

hat comes to mind reading the title “Blue Forest”? An unpublished tale by the Grimm’s brothers? The last fantasy movie now
at cinemas? Or an itinerary through the Belgian forest of Halle? Whatever could be your first association of ideas, it is undeniable that the
name given by Lucio Micheletti to his artwork really evokes a magical and fantastic world, a mysterious place that suddenly causes instant curiosity.
Being part of the rich collection of Contemporary Art Museum of
the Park in Portofino, “Blue Forest”, halfway between Land Art and
an artistic installation, is on view until the end of summer. An then
it will start again its tour… Indeed it left from Venice, where it took
part to 55th International Biennial of Art, and on next December it
will be protagonist at 25th edition of ArtMiami. Then it will be
shown somewhere in New York and near the Tour Eiffel in Paris.
The blue used by Micheletti to “dress his trees” is always the same,
either in San Servolo island or in Portofino, and it is functional to
the designer purpose: to make aware the attention of people on
nature and its safeguard, one of the most important problems for
the new generation.
What a best catalyst than the color of sea and sky? Dressing them
with linen gauzes, colored with natural pigments, Micheletti transformed simple logs into works of art, that inside the park create
an enchanting environmental scenic design that changes the view
of spaces giving them a new perspective.
“Art is a vehicle to reach people, visually hitting them in order to
increase their awareness towards a new perspective of the space”
in this way Lucio Micheletti tells about its project, who’s aim is to
publicize some good contents. And he does it through a performance of high emotional and visual impact, wishing to “involve
much more places and become a global Land Art masterpiece”. After all what would be a best global matter than the protection of the trees, source of air and life?

he cosa vi viene in mente leggendo il titolo “Blue Forest”? Un inedito dei
fratelli Grimm? L’ultimo film fantasy uscito nelle sale? Un itinerario nel bosco belga di Halle? Qualunque sia la prima e spontanea associazione di idee, è
indubbio che il nome dato da Lucio Micheletti alla sua opera evoca un mondo
incantato, magico e fantastico, un luogo misterioso che suscita immediata curiosità. Diventata parte della ricchissima collezione del Museo del Parco di Portofino Centro internazionale di scultura all’aperto, “Blue Forest” si colloca a
metà strada tra Land Art e un’installazione in senso stretto ed è in mostra fino
alla fine dell’estate. Poi riprenderà il suo viaggio… È partita infatti da Venezia,
dove ha partecipato alla 55° Biennale Internazionale d’Arte, e a dicembre sarà
protagonista della venticinquesima edizione di ArtMiami. Poi potremmo vederla in qualche parco di New York e persino davanti alla Torre Eiffel a Parigi… Il blu
utilizzato da Micheletti per fasciare i “suoi alberi”, siano quelli dell’Isola di San
Servolo o le palme di Portofino, è sempre lo stesso, funzionale all’obiettivo
principe dell’architetto e designer milanese: riportare l’attenzione dell’uomo
sulla natura, sensibilizzandolo su uno dei maggiori problemi che il nuovo secolo deve urgentemente affrontare, la sua salvaguardia.
Quale miglior catalizzatore se non la tinta del cielo e del mare? Fasciandoli con
garze di lino, colorate con prodotti naturali, Micheletti ha trasformato semplici
tronchi in opere artistiche che, ripetute, creano un’incantevole scenografia ambientale, modificando il ritmo dello spazio e quindi la sua lettura. “Usare l’arte
come strumento per arrivare alla gente, per colpirla visivamente affinché si avvicini a essa e maturi la consapevolezza della necessità di riesaminare la propria
prospettiva nello spazio” così Lucio Micheletti racconta il fine del suo progetto che punta soprattutto, come si conviene da sempre all’arte, a trasmettere
contenuti. E lo fa attraverso una performance di forte impatto visivo ed emotivo, che si augura “coinvolga molti, moltissimi luoghi fino a diventare un’opera di
Land Art globale.” D’altronde che cosa c’è di più globale se non l’interesse a proteggere l’albero, fonte di aria e di vita?

here are plenty of reasons to visit Camogli, one of the pearls of the
Liguria of Levante nestled between the Mount of Portofino and the
sea. One of these is the famous Fish Festival, held on the second Sunday
of May. Not everyone knows, however, that the night before the big panful of fried fish, there is the first of the two great religious festivals of the
Camogli community. On that Saturday, in fact Camogli celebrates ‘its’ patron, saint of fishermen and sailors for three hundred years: San Fortunato martyr, a Roman legionary who converted to Christianity and for this
reason was killed in the circus by his own comrades. The village is alive
with markets and at sunset all the waterfront houses are lit by rows of lights. It begins to get dark, the ‘Dragun’ passes in the sea, the pride boat of
Camogli with twelve oars and a double sail, reconstruction of a Sciabecco of the pirates. And here the procession begins: Crucifixes, huge and
very heavy, the brotherhoods of the neighbouring villages following the
Holy ark carried in the arms by eight volunteers across the entire village
and then up the staircase that leads from the harbour to the church of
Assunta. Hard work, accompanied by a band, many followers and admiration of the crowd. At this point, an amazing fireworks display starts that
ends with the lighting of thousands of lights on the church steeple. It is
the ‘go-ahead’ to set fire to the ‘fantocci, the ‘Dragun’ and the Dragonara
tower, two great symbolic constructions that the neighbourhoods of Porto and Pinetto prepared at either end of the beach. The whole bay
is filled with warmth and lights up in bright red.

IL PATRONO DEI PESCATORI E NAVIGANTI. UNA FESTA RELIGIOSA CON FUOCHI
D’ARTIFICIO E GRANDI FALÒ. UN APPUNTAMENTO IMPERDIBILE
i sono tantissimi motivi per visitare Camogli, perla del Levante ligure incastonata tra il Monte di Portofino e il mare. Uno di questi è la famosa Sagra
del pesce che si tiene la seconda domenica di maggio. Non tutti, però, sanno
che la sera prima della grande padellata di pesce fritto si tiene la prima delle
due grandi feste religiose della comunità camoglina. In questo sabato, infatti, da
trecento anni Camogli festeggia il “suo” patrono dei pescatori e dei naviganti:
San Fortunato martire, legionario romano convertitosi al cristianesimo e per
questo ucciso nel circo dai suoi stessi commilitoni. Il borgo si anima di mercatini e al tramonto tutte le case del lungomare si accendono di filari di luci. Incomincia a farsi buio, in mare passa il “Dragun”, la barca orgoglio di Camogli a dodici remi e doppia vela ricostruzione di uno Sciabecco dei pirati. Ed ecco che inizia la processione: ai Crocefissi, enormi e pesantissimi, delle confraternite dei
paesi limitrofi segue l’arca del Santo portata a braccia da otto volontari per tutto il paese e poi su per la scalinata che dal porticciolo porta alla chiesa dell’Assunta. Una faticaccia, accompagnata dalla banda, dai molti fedeli e dall’ammirazione della folla. A questo punto parte un incredibile spettacolo pirotecnico che
si conclude con l’accensione di mille luci sul campanile della chiesa. È “il via” per
dare fuoco ai “fantocci”, il “Dragun” e la torre della Dragonara, due grandi costruzioni simboliche che i quartieri di Porto e Pinetto hanno preparato ai due
estremi della spiaggia. Tutta la baia si accende di calore e rosso vivo.

uest at the Sivori Museum in Buenos Aires until August 3rd, Luiso
Sturla, eight-four years old this year, is certainly not at his first international experience. With over two hundred exhibitions, either personal or collective, “at home” or abroad, he brought his informal art,
imbued with Liguria, not only to Italy but also around the world. In fact
many of his paintings are devoted to his land, from the sea, to the river “Entella”, with its insects and its rich biodiversity, to the garden of
his house, that becomes often protagonist. “I did not look for Liguria in
my works, it was simply a part of me, been inside of me since my birth…
I have enriched my informal art with something that belonged to my
sites, I paid attention to them through the use of light and colour”.
Sturla draws inspiration from earth and dialogue with nature, in order
to create layers of shapes, overlapping past and present memories and
impressions. The result are not realistic representations but transparent
figures, undefined and vibrant at the same time. After having recounted his land, Sturla recently shifted his attention to the world of
dreams, oneiric and supernatural. In the end “artistic work is always a
process of becoming, you never know where you will arrive, imagination takes you where you never thought ….” Who knows if a young high school student of Chiavari, who become fond of painting thanks to
an amateur painter friend, would have imagined to exhibit his artworks
in Milan, Lugano, New York and today, again after forty years
since the first time, in Buenos Aires.

spite fino al 3 agosto al Museo Sivori di Buenos Aires, Luiso Sturla, ottantaquattro anni compiuti quest’anno, non è certo alla sua prima esperienza
internazionale. Con oltre duecento mostre alle spalle tra personali e collettive,
“in casa” o all’estero, ha portato la sua arte informale non solo in tutta Italia ma
anche nel mondo; e con lei la Liguria. Numerosi sono infatti i dipinti dedicati alla sua terra: il mare, il fiume Entella con i suoi insetti e la vita di cui è ricco, il
giardino della sua casa ne sono i protagonisti. “La Liguria non l’ho cercata, semplicemente faceva parte di me, ce l’avevo dentro dalla nascita... Ho arricchito così il mio stile informale con qualcosa che appartenesse ai miei luoghi: attraverso l’uso della luce e del colore mi sono rivolto a loro.” È proprio dalla terra e dal
dialogo con la natura che prende le mosse l’ispirazione di Sturla, per poi dare vita a stratificazioni di forme, sovrapposizioni di ricordi e di suggestioni presenti
e passate. Ne risultano non rappresentazioni realistiche ma figure trasparenti, incerte e nello stesso tempo vibranti. Dopo aver raccontato la sua terra, Sturla ha
recentemente spostato la sua attenzione sul mondo del sogno, dell’onirico e dei
fantasmi. In fondo, “il fare artistico è tutto un divenire, non sai mai dove arrivi,
la fantasia ti porta dove non avresti mai pensato...” E chissà se un giovane liceale di Chiavari appassionatosi al disegno grazie a un amico pittore dilettante
avrebbe mai immaginato di esporre le proprie opere a Milano, Lugano, New York
e oggi, di nuovo dopo quarant’anni dalla prima volta, a Buenos Aires.

f there is a regatta to start the season that no yacht owner and
skipper intends to miss, it is the Giraglia Rolex Cup. In the first place, because its formula includes everything: transfer path, coastal
trials and a long distance yacht race with the Giraglia rock acting as
a ‘buoy’. Then because, precisely, it collects the highest number of
registrations several months in advance, if not a year, and yachts of
every category and class of measurement rating IRC and ORC that a
competitive regatta can include. It’s so, however, that this year, and
for the umpteenth time, the 62° Giraglia made a record: 242 registrations, 107 participants at the Sanremo-St. Tropez, 170 in the coast regatta and a good 214 in the St Tropez-Monaco. This time, in fact,
the concomitant opening of the new headquarters of the Yacht
Club de Monaco in the final days of the great offshore has convinced the Italian Yacht Club, co-organizer of the Giraglia and club
twinned with that of the Principality, to give up the traditional finish line in Genoa. No doubt, with all due respect to the value of the
coastal trials, that all interests are focused on the great offshore. After a year's absence, the contenders include the Reichel/Pugh maxi

Among the favourites, also the Mini Maxi Ran of Niklas Zennstrom,
Alegre of Olly Cameron (first in the Saint Tropez Gruppo IRC 0 regattas), Jethou of Sir Peter Ogden and Alizee, the XP-44 of Laurent
Camprubi winner of the past edition under corrected time. The
Esimit Europa 2 did not disappoint. She is the first to cross the finish line in Monte Carlo. But the record remains intact because
the light winds on the way to Giraglia did not allow much smooth
sailing. At the end, Tixwave, the Swan 42 of Bernard Vananty, sang
victory to win the Rolex Challenge Trophy. Thanks to the
correction time, she remedied last year’s second place.

e c’è una regata d’avvio stagione che nessun armatore e velista intende perdere
è la Giraglia Rolex Cup. Innanzitutto perché nella sua formula comprende di tutto: percorso di trasferimento, prove costiere e una lunga regata d’altura con lo scoglio della Giraglia a fare da “boa”. Poi perché, appunto, raccoglie con diversi mesi
d’anticipo, se non un anno per l’altro, il più alto numero di iscritti e barche di ogni
categoria e classe stazzate IRC e ORC che una regata competitiva possa annoverare. È così, peraltro, che quest’anno, e per l’ennesima volta, la 62° Giraglia ha fatto il
record: 242 iscritti, 107 partecipanti alla Sanremo-St. Tropez, 170 alle regate costiere
e ben 214 alla St. Tropez-Monaco. Questa volta, infatti, la concomitante inaugurazione della nuova sede dello Yacht Club de Monaco nei giorni conclusivi della grande offshore ha convinto lo Yacht Club Italiano, co-organizzatore della Giraglia e circolo gemellato con quello del Principato, a rinunciare al classico traguardo finale a
Genova. Non c’è dubbio, senza nulla togliere al valore delle prove costiere, che tutti gli interessi sono puntati sulla grande offshore. Dopo un anno di assenza, tra i contendenti c’è il Reichel/Pugh Maxi 100 di Igor Simcic, Esimit Europa 2, al comando
del campione olimpico Jochen Schumann e con a bordo il giovane Pierre Casiraghi.
È la barca vincitrice di tre edizioni consecutive, 2010, 2011 e 2012, nonché attuale detentrice del record della regata d’altura con 14 ore 56 minuti e 16 secondi. Tra i favoriti, anche il Mini Maxi Ran di Niklas Zennstrom, Alegre di Olly Cameron (prima
nelle regate di Saint Tropez Gruppo IRC 0), Jethou di Sir Peter Ogden e Alizee, l’XP
44 di Laurent Camprubi vincitore in tempo compensato della passata edizione. Esimit Europa 2 non si smentisce. È lei a tagliare per prima il traguardo a Montecarlo.
Ma il record resta intatto perché i venti leggeri sul percorso verso la Giraglia non
consentono andature molto sostenute. Alla fine a cantare vittoria sarà Tixwave, lo
Swan 42 di Bernard Vananty, che si aggiudica il Trofeo Challenge Rolex. Grazie alla
compensazione si rifà del secondo posto rimediato lo scorso anno.

he classic opening of the sailing season of Tigullio this year
was brought forward by one month compared to the previous
editions, from May to the beginning of April, in the hope that the
wind would blow with greater intensity. 62 boats entered with an
overall length of between 9.14m and 21.45m, of the Swan 70 of
Giorgio Marsiaj, the Flying Dragon, the largest of the fleet. Among
the participants, divided into four classes according to the ORC
and IRC tonnage rules, there were numerous ‘aficionados’ winners
the past editionsof the trophy in Santa Margherita Ligure, such as
the Maxi Itacentodue, the Chestress 3, the Giochelotta (holder of
2013 edition), the Spirit of Nerina, the Just a Joke, the Foxy Lady,
the Baciottinho, and those who, after a winter spent at sea to
train, was looking for an important result: the First 45 Obsession
and the X Air of Burrasca. There was no shortage of foreign crews
including the Danish Vertical Smile (Swan 60), the Swiss Music
(Baltic 50) and the Russian Knyaz and the Artful (Archambault 40).
On the first day of the regatta, a 10-knot north wind blew; at 11am
the start of the various classes under a grey sky with some pouring rain. The Race Committee chose the ‘long’ path of 14 miles
with departure off Santa Margherita to go up again to Bogliasco,
where the distance was then reduced due to a sudden drop in

of the previous edition, the sailors thanked the sun that radiated
the gulf on the second day of regatta with the north wind blowing over 8 knots. The wind, however, continued to turn and lost
intensity during the day but it was possible to conclude the second trial. The evening ended with a party organized by the Yacht
Club in the big tent in the back of the Santa Margherita port. The
wind came back for the last race, with the typical way of the
Tigullio Gulf: the Libeccio, a south-west wind, although only 8
knots. The regatta started at 2pm and took place over a distance
of eight miles between the tip of Portofino and San Fruttuoso.
Three trials were completed. The Vertical Smile held the Maya at
bay in the IRC 0 class. But the Danish boat did not celebrate the
Coppa Carlo Negri victory. By regulation, the trophy goes to the
overall winner in the most numerous grouping, the Mariel, the
Grand Soleil 341 of Federico Massari, which dominated the
ORC B class.

a classica di apertura della stagione velica del Tigullio quest’anno è stata anticipata di un mese rispetto alle precedenti edizioni, da maggio ai primi d’aprile, nella speranza che il vento soffiasse con maggiore intensità. 62 le barche
iscritte di lunghezza fuori tutto compresa tra i 9,14 metri e i 21,45 metri dello
Swan 70 di Giorgio Marsiaj Flying Dragon, il più grande della flotta. Tra i partecipanti, divisi in quattro classi secondo le regole di stazza ORC e IRC, numerosi
gli “aficionados” vincenti di quest’appuntamento a Santa Margherita Ligure, come il Maxi Itacentodue, Chestress 3, Giochelotta (sua l’edizione 2013), Spirit of

10 nodi; alle 11 il via alle varie classi sotto un cielo plumbeo con qualche rovescio di pioggia. Il Comitato di Regata ha scelto il percorso “lungo” di 14 miglia
con partenza al largo di Santa Margherita per risalire fino a Bogliasco, dove è poi
stato ridotto per un improvviso calo del vento. In testa chiudono i danesi di Vertical Smile. Memori della pioggia della passata edizione, i regatanti ringraziano il
sole che irradia il golfo il secondo giorno di regata con la tramontana che soffia
sugli 8 nodi. Il vento però continua a girare e perdere intensità nel corso della
giornata ma si riesce a concludere anche la seconda prova. La serata si conclude
con la festa organizzata dalla Yacht Club nel tendone alla spalle del porto di
S.Margherita. Per l’ultima regata si ripresenta il vento tipico del golfo del Tigullio: il Libeccio, anche se con solo 8 nodi. Si parte alle 14 e la regata si svolge su
un percorso di 8 miglia tra la punta di Portofino e San Fruttuoso. Le prove portate a termine sono state tre. Vertical Smile tiene a bada Maya nella classe IRC
0. Ma a stringere la Coppa Carlo Negri non è la barca danese. Per regolamento
spetta al vincitore overall nel raggruppamento più numeroso, ovvero a Mariel, il
Grand Soleil 341 di Federico Massari, che ha dominato la classe ORC B.

he first period of spring is usually characterized by great weather instability. Also this year, history repeated, putting a strain on the
scheduled regattas. Among these, right in the first half of a stormy April, one of the smallest yachts will face off in one of the most challenging offshore races in the Mediterranean. With the spirit of true adventurers of the sea, the team of sixteen boats leave the
Italian Yacht Club docks in Genoa Saturday, April 12 to race in the eighth edition of the Italian Grand Prix reserved for the Mini 6.50
class. Shells of six and a half feet once again face a challenge, worthy of the most famous Transat. There is a reason why this race for
crews of only two members is known as the ‘Mini Transat of the Mediterranean’. The 16 boats in competition, from Italy, Croatia, France, Spain and Switzerland, are divided into the Proto and Serie categories. In regatta, among others, there is the crew composed of
Michele Zambelli and Alberto Bona (YCI athlete that achieved an excellent fifth place among the Serie in the 2013 Mini Transat), on
board the ‘Fontanot’, and Andrea Pendibene and Giovanna Valsecchi, third among the Serie in 2013, and fresh winners of the Archipelago 650, on the ‘Marina Militare’. The Mini 6.50 is a yacht that requires great skill and experience: some of the greatest sailors in the
world have taken their first steps on board a Mini. Many technical solutions, such as self-stabilizing keels, and cutting-edge materials
originated precisely from these little fireballs. The Grand Prix Mini 6.50 was created in 2006 by the Mini Class and the Italian Yacht
Club. Main offshore Italian regatta dedicated to the class, takes participants to deal with the most varied conditions, from long sailing on the high seas to the more insidious and technical ones among the islands of the Tuscan archipelago. The route, 530 miles long,
runs on the Genoa course, Isola della Capraia, La Caletta, Giannutri, Genoa. As was the case last year, the Nettuno and the Eolo step
in to force the Regatta Committee to shorten the course. As regards Sardinia, winds of gale force seven are expected. So, the buoy
of La Caletta is skipped, focusing directly on Giannutri from which to begin the return to Genoa. Upon seeing the small island in Tuscany, after three days of battling with the weather, the ‘Mpharma Italy’ with Andrea Iacopini and Tommaso Stella is in command of
the Serie classification and the ‘Follow Me’ (Romain Mouchel – Nikki Curwen) is first among the Proto . The last stages revolutionize the pole positions. Dawn of April 16 sees the Proto winner, the ‘Fontanot’; the ‘Follow Me’ second, nearly an hour behind.
And here is the ‘Marina Militare’ only five minutes away, the first among the Serie, followed half an hour later by the
Mastep of Davide Lusso and Federico Fornaro.

l primo periodo della primavera è solitamente caratterizzato da grande instabilità
meteorologica. Anche quest’anno il copione si è ripetuto, mettendo a dura prova le
regate in programma. Fra queste, proprio nella prima metà di un aprile tempestoso,
barche tra le più piccole si affrontano in una delle regate d’altura più impegnative del
Mediterraneo. Con spirito da veri avventurieri del mare, i team di sedici imbarcazioni
sabato 12 aprile lasciano le banchine dello Yacht Club Italiano a Genova per disputare
l’ottava edizione del Gran Premio d’Italia riservato alla classe Mini 6.50. Gusci di sei metri e mezzo che affrontano ancora una volta un’impresa degna della più famosa Transat. Non per niente questa regata per equipaggi di due soli componenti è conosciuta
come la “Mini Transat del Mediterraneo”. Le 16 le imbarcazioni iscritte, provenienti da
Italia, Croazia, Francia, Spagna e Svizzera, sono suddivise nelle categorie Serie e Proto.
In regata, tra gli altri, ci sono l’equipaggio composto da Michele Zambelli e Alberto Bona (l’atleta dello YCI che ha ottenuto un ottimo quinto posto tra i Serie alla Mini Transat 2013), a bordo di “Fontanot”, e Andrea Pendibene e Giovanna Valsecchi, terzi tra i
Serie nel GP 2013 e freschi vincitori della Arcipelago 650, su “Marina Militare”. Il Mini
6.50 è una barca che richiede grande esperienza e abilità: alcuni dei più grandi velisti
del mondo hanno mosso i primi passi a bordo di un Mini. Molte soluzioni tecniche, co-

me le chiglie basculanti, e materiali all’avanguardia sono nati proprio su questi piccoli bolidi. Il Gran Premio Mini 6.50 è nato nel 2006 per volontà della Classe Mini
e dello Yacht Club Italiano. Principale regata d’altura italiana dedicata alla classe,
porta i partecipanti ad affrontare le condizioni più varie, dalle lunghe navigazioni
d’altura a quelle più tecniche e insidiose tra le isole dell’arcipelago toscano. Il percorso, lungo 530 miglia, si snoda sulla rotta Genova, Isola della Capraia, La Caletta, Giannutri, Genova. Come già accaduto lo scorso anno, Nettuno e Eolo ci mettono lo zampino costringendo il Comitato di Regata a ridurre il percorso. Sulla Sardegna sono previsti venti di burrasca forza sette. Così, si salta la boa di La Caletta,
puntando direttamente su Giannutri da cui iniziare il ritorno a Genova. Al rilevamento della piccola isola toscana, dopo tre gorni di battaglia con il meteo,
“Mpharma Italia” con Andrea Iacopini e Tommaso Stella è al comando della classifica dei Serie e “Follow Me” (Romain Mouchel – Nikki Curwen) è primo tra i Proto. Le ultime fasi rivoluzionano le posizioni di testa. L’arrivo all’alba del 16 aprile
vede vincitore il Proto “Fontanot”; secondo con quasi un’ora di distacco “Follow
Me”. Passano solo cinque minuti ed ecco “Marina Militare”, primo dei Serie, seguito, un’ora e mezza dopo, da Mastep di Davide Lusso e Federico Fornaro.

o see eighty boats engaged these days in a regatta is not an
everyday event. Therefore great interest and success in Portofino for the 18° edition of the Trofeo SIAD Bombola d’Oro, a great
classic reserved for 12’ dinghies. The regatta, as always, is organized
by the Yacht Club in collaboration with the Italian Sailing Club of
Santa Margherita Ligure and the Nautical Club of Rapallo, the partnership of the SIAD Group and sponsored by the municipality of
Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino and Rapallo. The Dinghy is a boat
of great fascination, technical and elegant; the 12’ Dinghy, includes
boats in wood, fiberglass and wood, and only fiberglass, newly built
and classical. Designed by George Cockshott in 1913, she is a little
over 3 and a half feet and exploits the power of the wind on the single large fore-and-aft sail. Three favourites at the start: Ligurian Paolo Viacava -11 times Italian Champion and 13-time winner of the SIAD
Trophy, Angelo ‘Pinne’ Oneto -10 times Italian Champion and Francesco ‘Paco’ Rebaudi one-time Italian Champion. Of course, the favoured winner is Viacava aboard the Mailin, but the first of three
days of racing was not favourable. Filippo Jannello on the ‘Cicci’ gave her a hard time from the start and took the lead. Already on the
second day of trial you could see that the battle for the trophy was
reserved for the two of them. Jannello did not give in and Viacava
remained second. On Sunday, the third and final day of the regatta,
the wind remained weak and unstable throughout the day. Nothing
could be done, trials cancelled and classification unchanged. Therefore, Filippo Jannello wins, the Trofeo Challenge SIAD Bombola
d’Oro (Gold), the YCI cup and gold medal were awarded in the afternoon in Portofino. The Trofeo Challenge Bombola D’Argento (Silver) went to Italo Bertacca with Arch. Melandri (classic boats, wooden hull); numerous other honours and awards. Even for the
four Japanese sailors that arrived specifically from Tokyo.

la 18° edizione del Trofeo SIAD Bombola d’Oro, una grande classica riservata ai

Margherita Ligure, Portofino e Rapallo. Il Dinghy è una barca di grande fascino,
tecnica ed elegante; la Classe Dinghy 12’, annovera scafi in legno, in vetroresina
e legno e solo in vetroresina, di recente costruzione e d’epoca. Progettata da
George Cockshott nel 1913, è lunga poco più di 3 metri e mezzo e sfrutta la potenza del vento sull'unica grossa vela aurica. Alla partenza ci sono tre favoritissimi: il ligure Paolo Viacava 11 volte Campione Italiano e 13 volte vincitore del

LA CLASSIFICA GENERALE DEL
SIAD BOMBOLA D’ORO
Trofeo SIAD, Angelo “Pinne” Oneto 10 volte Campione Italiano e Francesco “Paco” Rebaudi una volta Campione Italiano. Naturalmente il più accreditato alla
vittoria è Viacava a bordo di “Mailin”, ma il primo dei tre giorni di regate non gli
è favorevole. A dargli filo da torcere da subito e a guidare la classifica è Filippo
Jannello su “Cicci”. Già al secondo giorno di prove si capisce che la lotta per il
Trofeo è riservata a loro due. Jannello non molla e Viacava resta secondo. La domenica, terzo e ultimo giorno di regate, il vento resta debole e instabile per tutta la giornata. Non c’è niente da fare: prove annullate e classifica inalterata. Filippo Jannello si aggiudica, pertanto, il Trofeo Challenge SIAD Bombola d’Oro, la
coppa YCI e la medaglia d’oro consegnati nel pomeriggio a Portofino. A Italo
Bertacca con “Arch. Melandri” va il Trofeo Challenge Bombola D’Argento (barche
classiche, scafo in legno); numerosissimi gli altri riconoscimenti e premi. Anche
per i quattro velisti giapponesi arrivati appositamente da Tokyo.
