New wines
Our aim is never to have an extensive selection of wines, but rather to offer a select
list that demonstrates above all authenticity and value for money. Recently we have
tasted and enjoyed the following new wines that we are proud to add to the Vino list.
Madregale, Colline Teatine, Abruzzo
This simple pair of IGTs serve as something of our Vino house wines, the rosso made
from the punchy Montepulciano grape, with plenty of deep fruit flavours, yet light and
never heavy; the bianco surprisingly from Chardonnay, fresh, with an Abruzzese
accent. These are excellent, well made wines to enjoy in quantity with simple foods
and in the company of friends.

Badia di Morrona, Valdera, Tuscany
Our relationship with the Badia di Morrona has come from developing strong
personal links with friends in the Valdera zone of Tuscany (inland from Pisa) through
the continued work to twin Tuscany and Devon as food regions. The wines from this
corner of Tuscany are less well known than from other area but they are very high
quality indeed. This is one of the leading estates – I urge you to try these wines!

more generous than their leaner cousins in the Chianti Classico and elsewhere. I love
Morellino di Scansano and this is a great, vivid, fresh example.

Azienda Agricola Fratelli Politi, Le Marche
Giuditta Politi makes one of the best Verdicchio’s you will ever taste – full in body,
richly textured, clean, unoaked and powerful. Giuditta was formerly a molecular
geneticist before taking over her family estate, and her wines are made with both
scientific precision and also passion and respect for the territorio. Loretello is a truly
