Riassunto dell'attività scientifica
Paolo Carozza si è laureato in scienze sociali presso Harvard College ed ha ricevuto il dottorato in diritto alla
Harvard Law School, dove è stato anche Ford Foundation Fellow in diritto pubblico internazionale. Attualmente
è Direttore del Kellogg Institute for International Studies e Professor of Law and Concurrent Professor of
Political Science all’Università di Notre Dame (Indiana, USA), dove è stato anche Direttore del Center for Civil
and Human Rights e Direttore del programma di dottorato in diritti umani. All’Università di Notre Dame è anche
membro di altri istituti di ricerca incluso l'Istituto Kroc per gli studi sulla pace internazionale e dell'Istituto Nanovic
per gli studi europei. La sua area di competenza comprende i diritti umani, il diritto comparato costituzionale, le
tradizioni giuridiche europee e latino-americane, il diritto internazionale e lo sviluppo internazionale. Dal 2006
al 2010 è stato membro dell’Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, il principale organo internazionale
responsabile per la promozione e protezione dei diritti umani nell’emisfero occidentale, per il quale è stato
