COSA BISOGNA SAPERE DI SABELT
La Sabelt nasce nel 1972 come azienda produttrice di cinture di sicurezza per il primo equipaggiamento. Nel corso degli anni
l’ampliamento dell’obbligatorietà delle cinture anteriori e posteriori ha imposto sistemi produttivi nuovi consentendo di consolidare,
prima, e sviluppare poi, una conoscenza estesa dei sistemi fibbia, dei nastri e dei sistemi complessi di ritenzione. Tale base tecnologica
ha reso possibile la realizzazione di sistemi specifici per le auto da competizione, in cui condizioni estreme e necessità di sicurezza
costituivano un compromesso non facile da raggiungere. Raggiunta la leadership di settore, Sabelt ampliava la propria gamma
offrendo una gamma completa di articoli per la sicurezza del pilota e di accessori per sicurezza passiva del veicolo.
Grazie a questa crescita la Sabelt ha avuto la possibilità di collaborare con le più importanti case automobilistiche e con i migliori
team al mondo in F1, GP2, F3, F3000, nel campionato mondiale rally (WRC), nella Le Mans Series, nei campionati FIA GT e nella
Nascar Series americana.
Oggi la Sabelt è parte del gruppo Brembo, conta 164 dipendenti suddivisi in tre stabilimenti:
- l’headquarter di Moncalieri (TO)
- la divisione produttiva e la unit logistica di Moncalieri (TO)
- la divisione produttiva di Zilina (Slovacchia).
Tale struttura trasversale è dedicata allo sviluppo ed implementazione di tre diversi business: Racing, Child Safety System (produzione
e fornitura di sistemi di ritenzione per i prodotti infanzia) e OEM (forniture di sedili di primo equipaggiamento).
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SABELT
Sabelt was born in 1972 as OEM manufacturer. Over the years the expansion of mandatory front and rear seat belts has imposed new
production systems allowing to consolidate first, and then developing, an extensive knowledge of buckles, webbing and restraint
systems. This technology base allowed the creation of specific system for race cars in which extreme conditions and safety need were
a quite difficult compromise to reach. Reached the sector leadership, Sabelt extended its catalogue offering a full range of products
for drivers safety and accessories for passive safety of the vehicle.
Thanks to this growth, Sabelt had the chance to cooperate with the most important car manufacturers and with the major teams of
world in F1, GP2, F3 , in world rally championship, in Le Mans Series, in Fia GT Championship.
Today Sabet is part of Brembo Group, it counts 164 employees divided in three facilities:
- Headquarter in Moncalieri (TO)
- Production department and logistic unit in Moncalieri (TO)
- Production department in Zilina (Slovakia)
This transverse structure is dedicated to the development and the improvement of the three different business unit: Racing, Child
Safety System (production and supplying of retention products for childhood) and OEM ( supplying of seats for original equipment).

I NASTRI: IL NUOVO ZY-TEX-49, LEGGERO, RESISTENTE, SICURO
L’area di innovazione più importante, perché nessuno prima aveva saputo esplorare questa
opportunità e perché rappresenta la principale via che ci ha condotto a riduzioni di peso fino
al 36%, sulla cintura completa. Il nuovo nastro superleggero ZY-TEX-49, utilizzato in esclusiva
da Sabelt, è composto da fibre ignifughe ad alta resistenza meccanica, tessute con attrezzature
specifiche ed impregnate con un trattamento antiabrasione resistente alla fiamma. Il risultato è un
nastro più leggero, resistente al fuoco con le stesse proprietà meccaniche di un nastro tradizionale
sia a trazione, sia come deformazione massima.
STRAPS: THE NEW ZY-TEX-49, LIGHT, STRONG, SAFE
It is the most important area of innovation, because no one had been able to explore this opportunity
and because it represents the best way that led to weight reductions of up to 36% on a
complete harness. The new webbing strap ZY-TEX 49, exclusively used by Sabelt, is composed
of fireproof fibers with high strength, woven with specific tooling and impregnated with a flame
resistant anti-abrasion coating. The result is a lighter strap, fire-resistant, with the same mechanical
properties of the traditional straps, as traction and maximum deformation.

LE CONFIGURAZIONI: TUTTI I MATERIALI IN ALTERNATIVA
Il nuovo catalogo rappresenta una svolta, per la grafica, per l’offerta e per i prodotti. Per le cinture
da competizione abbiamo studiato le configurazioni più comuni e le varianti più richieste rendendole
disponibili con materiali alternativi, per peso, confort e costo, assicurando sempre lo stesso
livello di qualità e sicurezza. Le abbiamo organizzate in serie (Gold, Silver, Steel) proprio per
porre l’accento su come i materiali utilizzati determinino le diverse caratteristiche tecniche.
CONFIGURATIONS: ALL MATERIALS IN ALTERNATIVE
The new catalog is a turning point, for graphics, for supply and for products. For competition
harnesses we studied the most common configurations and the most popular variants making
them available with alternative materials, by weight, comfort and price, always ensuring the
same level of quality and safety. We have arranged them in series (Gold, Silver, Steel) just to lay
emphasis on how materials determine the different technical characteristics.
LA FIBBIA: SOLO ALLUMINIO E TITANIO
E’ stata ed è tecnicamente all’avanguardia come sistema di rilascio rapido multi punti. Abbiamo
fatto una scelta di qualità, continuando ad utilizzare per il corpo fibbia l’alluminio:
più pesante di altri materiali (alcuni tipi di plastica per esempio), ma più sicuro per le
migliori caratteristiche meccaniche e termiche. Ciò nonostante un attento calcolo strutturale
ha permesso di effettuare alleggerimenti nelle zone non portanti che hanno consentito un risparmio
di peso del 10%, che arriva al 14% nella versione F1 che utilizza particolari interni in titanio.
BUCKLE: ONLY ALUMINUM AND TITANIUM
It was and it is a technically advanced multi-point quick-release system. We made a choice of
quality, because we continue to use aluminum for the body buckle: it is heavier than
other materials (some kinds of plastic for example), but safer for better mechanical and
thermal characteristics. Nevertheless, a careful structural analysis has allowed us to lighten the
non-bearing areas; that has allowed a weight saving of 10%, reaching 14% in the F1 version that
uses titanium inner parts.

I NUOVI REGOLATORI IN ALLUMINIO
IL PESO
E’ la Sabelt che ha studiato ed introdotto il primo hardware per il confort di regolazione in alluminio. Il
sistema originale, ancora oggi in uso e all’avanguardia, è stato rimodellato con l’obbiettivo di renderlo
più leggero, senza ridurre il carico massimo applicabile, più confortevole e più veloce. Una serie di calcoli
strutturali effettuati nei laboratori Brembo ha permesso di individuare le zone meno sollecitate, il cui
scarico, poteva consentire una riduzione di peso. La stessa procedura applicata alla leva di regolazione
ne ha reso possibile la realizzazione in alluminio (nel 2011 anche sul regolatore alluminio la leva di
sgancio era in acciaio). Il risultato è stato sbalorditivo: il peso del vecchio regolatore era di
118 g, nella nuova versione sarà invece di soli 88 g (saving di circa 30 g a pezzo pari a circa
il 30%). Solo questa evoluzione consente nella configurazione con quattro regolatori alluminio un
risparmio totale di circa 120 g per cintura. Il nuovo dimensionamento del corpo, invece, ha aumentato
l’effetto leva , riducendo la forza necessaria ad azionare la leva stessa. Risultato: leva più morbida e
regolazione più facile e più veloce.
Sulle vetture moderne, in cui il rapporto peso/potenza è particolarmente critico, è
di fondamentale importanza la riduzione del peso. E’ in quest’ottica che Sabelt ha
concentrato i propri sforzi di ricerca e sviluppo ed è in questo campo che sono stati
raggiunti i migliori risultati. Il nastro leggero, i materiali come titanio, magnesio e
alluminio, le soluzioni tecniche sugli hardware, hanno permesso di creare una
cintura omologata FIA (Ferrari F1 e Red Bull F1) che pesa 480 g, pur garantendo
un livello di sicurezza superiore al minimo richiesto dalla FIA. Ancora più importante:
le soluzioni sono tali da garantire riduzioni di peso significative su tutte le
cinture e non solo su quelle destinate ai professionisti, in tutte le fasce di
prezzo.
WEIGHT
On modern cars , where the power/weight ratio is particularly critical , it is very
important the reduction of weight. Sabelt concentrated all its efforts in R&D and it
is in this fields that has reached the best results . The light strap , materials such as
titanium , magnesium and aluminum , hardware technical solutions , permit to create
a FIA Standard belt (Ferrari F1 and Red Bull F1) that weights 480 gr. , granting
a safety level higher than the minimum required by FIA. Much important: the new
solutions are granting significant weight reductions on all belts range and
not only to belts intended for professional drivers and in all price renges.
NEW ALUMINUM ADJUSTERS
I REGOLATORI IN TITANIO, ALLUMINIO E ACCIAIO
Vista la strategica funzione del regolatore, nel tempo, Sabelt ha ampliato le opzioni disponibili. Oggi
equipaggiano le nostre cinture regolatori realizzati in materiali diversi, con diversi sistemi di regolazione
per nastri da 2 o 3 pollici. Importantissimo il peso: dai 68 g (titanio), 88 g (alluminio), 84 g
(acciaio), 78 g (bufflug acciaio con cover in plastica per nastro 2 “).
TITANIUM,ALUMINUM AND STEEL ADJUSTERS
Given the strategic role of adjuster ,Sabelt extended available options. Today our belts are equipped
with adjusters in different materials , with different regulation systems for 2” or 3” straps. Weight is
very important: 68 gr. for titanium , 88 gr. for aluminum , 84 gr. for steel and 78 gr for plastic
covered steel bufflug for 2” strap.
GLI ACCESSORI
E’ anche su questi componenti che la cura del dettaglio costituisce la differenza rispetto a tutti i
competitor. Le piastre, i regolatori bufflug e 3-bar, i moschettoni e gli occhielli, le lingue, disponibili sia
in acciaio, sia in titanio, sono sempre realizzati con la massima cura, leggeri, con gli spigoli di taglio
arrotondati e trattamenti superficiali che li proteggono nel tempo.
ACCESSORIES
The attention and the cure of detail for all the components makes the difference to all competitors.
Plates , bufflug and 3-bar adjusters , snap hooks and eye-bolts , tongues ,available both in steel and in
titanium , are always realized with maximum care ,light , with rounded edges and treatments that will
protect them over time.
LE FUNZIONALITA’
La nuova gamma e la nuove offerta sono ora complete ed in grado di soddisfare ogni necessità tecnica.
L’inserimento di un regolatore supplementare sulle bretelle (3-bar), consente di utilizzare
per il fissaggio il moschettone fornito di serie oppure, in alternativa, fissare direttamente la
bretella al roll-bar, oltre a permettere una seconda regolazione della lunghezza del nastro. Sabelt è
l’unica azienda a fornire la fibbia con “release” a doppio scatto per la Formula 1 (disponibile su
richiesta). Con il primo scatto si liberano dalla fibbia tutte le lingue tranne una che tiene bloccato un
ramo cintura mentre con il secondo scatto si liberano tutti i rami permettendo quindi l’estrazione rapida
del sedile in caso di incidente.
FUNCTIONALITIES
The new range and new offers are now complete and able to meet all technical requirements. The add
of an additional adjuster on the shoulder straps (3-bar) allows to use the standard snap hook
or ti fix directly the shoulder strap to roll bar, as well as allowing a second adjustment of the length
of strap. Sabelt is the only company to provide the buckle with double stage release for Formula
1 (available on request). With the first stage buckle releases all tongues except the one that holds one
strap while the second stage releases all straps permitting quick release from the seat in case of crash.
LA RESISTENZA E LA SICUREZZA
MADE IN ITALY
Sabelt developed and introduced the first aluminum hardware for comfortable and quick adjustment.
The original system, still in use and with an advanced technology, has been reshaped to make it lighter,
without reducing the maximum load, more comfortable and quicker. FEM calculations made by Brembo’s
laboratory has identified the less stressed areas that could be emptied to allow a weight reduction. The
same procedure, applied to the adjustment lever, has made possible the realization of an aluminum
lever (in 2011 also the aluminum adjusters had a steel lever). The result was stunning: the weight of
the old version adjuster was 118 g, while the new version will be just 88 g (with a saving of
30 g each piece, approximately 30%). This evolution allows, in a configuration with four aluminum
adjusters, a total saving of around 120 g for harness. Furthermore the new shape of the body has
increased the leverage effect, reducing the force required to operate the lever. The result: a softer lever
and an easier and quicker adjustment.
Sono da sempre il primo obiettivo di Sabelt che per questo ha sempre scelto
di sovradimensionare tutti i componenti e di omologare, sia FIA, sia SFI, solo
configurazioni di cintura che garantissero resistenze ben superiori ai minimi richiesti.
Anche ponendosi obiettivi sfidanti per peso confort e performance, tutti i test sono
stati condotti con il preciso intento di non ridurre in alcun modo il livello di sicurezza,
mantenendo sempre, rispetto ai valori imposti dalla federazione, un proprio “margine
di sicurezza”, anche a costo di essere meno competitivi sul mercato.
ENDURANCE AND SAFETY
The first target of Sabelt that for this reason has always chosen to oversize all
components and to homologate ,FIA and SFI , only belt configurations granting
resistances higher than the minimum requested. Even challenging setting goals for
weight ,comfort and performance, all tests were made with the precise intent not to
reduce in any way safety level , always maintaining a “safety margin” ,even at the
cost of being less competitive in the market.

QUALITA’ DEI TESSUTI - E’ un processo iniziato molti anni fa. Scegliemmo di dotare la Sabelt di strutture interne che qualificassero
i tessuti in modo chiaro e incontrovertibile, con macchinari in grado di effettuare internamente i test a fuoco (esposizione alla fiamma e
trasmissione del calore), ai lavaggi (restringimento e tenuta del colore) ed alla trazione. E tutte queste prove sono ripetute su ogni lotto di
tessuto in arrivo, a campione su ogni pezza.
QUALITY OF FABRICS - The process began many years ago. We decided to equip Sabelt with internal structures that qualify fabrics
in a clear way, with machines able to perform in-house fire (flame exposure and heat transmission), washing (shrinkage and color fastness)
and traction tests. And all these tests are repeated on each arriving batch of fabrics, a sample on each piece.
OBIETTIVO TRASPIRABILITA’ - Il confort del pilota è una delle componenti che ne aumentano la reattività e la sicurezza.
Questo principio è stato alla base di uno studio attento che ha portato ad una scelta importante ed esclusiva: il confort non è legato alla
sola leggerezza, ma costruito attraverso alcuni strumenti e caratteristiche fra cui morbidezza, vestibilità, possibilità di movimento e
soprattutto traspirabilità. E su questo ultimo punto Sabelt è leader indiscusso, grazie ai tessuti Diamond o alla nuova tela 110 g/mq,
agli strati interni in nido d’ape a celle molto larghe e all’uso di sole maglie a discapito dei feltri, leggeri ma poco traspiranti.
BREATHABILITY AIM - Driver’s comfort is one of the components increasing reactivity and safety.This principle was the basis
of a careful study that led to an important and exclusive choice : comfort is not only related to the lightness, but built using some tools
and features including softness, fit and breathability. On this last point Sabelt is the undisputed leader, thanks to Diamond fabrics or to
the new 110 gr/mq canvas, to the large cells of honeycomb inner layers and to the use of mesh instead of felts,light but not breathable.

High quality seams are usually used for the top range suits, due to the impact on the timing of production and on costs. Sabelt, on the contrary,
decided to create a complete range of suits, which provides ultra-flat felled seams even on the entry level models of the collection.

PRODUCTION CAPABILITY AND TECHNOLOGIES - The key has been the creation of suits test lab, with which we are equipped for inhouse production of most of production stages : CAD design, cutting, sewing and testing, out sourcing only embroidery to a specialist in the field. Latest
generation CAD design programs, automatic cutting table and the sewing line made Sabelt fast and flexible at the same time. The laboratory,equipped
to duplicate all tests, including the ones specified in FIA rules,makes the entire process of acceptance and validation of materials effective and
streamlined,granting always highest level of quality and safety.

In linea con gli sviluppi sulle tute ignifughe,
anche sull’underwear abbiamo cercato di
agevolare il compito dei piloti, migliorando le
condizioni ambientali in cui operano. Il nuovo
underwear NET-Space è costituito da due
tipi di tessuto: uno morbido ed elastico
ed uno fortemente traspirante. Il
primo è stato selezionato per le
sue caratteristiche di vestibilità,
elasticità e morbidezza, in modo
da creare finalmente un underwear
che segue le linee del corpo in modo
aderente e senza sovrapposizioni o rilasci
di tessuto, poco comodi quando si è seduti
in vettura. Il secondo è una rete ignifuga,
innestata nelle aree in cui la sudorazione è
più accentuata, per consentire una migliore
ventilazione della pelle, garantendo la
protezione necessaria. Per combinare i due
tessuti e le diverse aree di applicazione,
abbiamo sviluppato un nuovo modello, con
tagli e cuciture piatte ribattute, fisiologiche
ai diversi materiali, costruito per agevolare il
movimento ed il confort nella guida.
NET-SPACE BIMATERIC UNDERWEAR
In line with the development of racing suits,
also on underwear we tried to assist drivers,
bettering environmental conditions. The
new NET-Space underwear is made by two
different kind of fabric: one soft and elastic
and another highly breathable. The first has
been selectioned for his characteristics of
wearability , elasticity and softness, creating
an underwear that follows body shape in a
close-fitting way and without overlaps of
fabric, that are not so comfortable while
seating in the car. The second is a fireproof
net, that we put in the areas in which
perspiration is strong, to allow better
ventilation of skin, granting the needed
protection. To combine the two fabrics and
the different application areas, we developed
a new model, with cuts and flat and felled
seams, constructed to facilitate movements
and comfort in driving.

Sono state effettuate, da un laboratorio specializzato, delle misure di
rumorosità su una serie di caschi con lo scopo di caratterizzare sia il casco,
sia l’impianto interfonico installato. I test sono stati eseguiti sui nuovi caschi
Sabelt equipaggiati con quattro kit di interfono differenti, per individuare la
soluzione più performante, e sui caschi dei tre principali competitors, per
capire a che livello si possono collocare nel mercato i caschi Sabelt dal punto
di vista qualitativo.
A specialized laboratory carried out noise measurements on several helmets
with the aim of rating both the helmet and the intercom system. The tests
were carried out on new Sabelt helmets equipped with four different intercom
kits, to find the best solution in terms of performance. Benchmark has been
done with the major three competitors.

CONCLUSIONI
Secondo i giudizi soggettivi, nel complesso SABELT A e il COMPETITOR 2 hanno ottenuto il punteggio più alto. Esaminando i grafici delle due fasi di lavoro
precedenti, si può osservare come questi risultati trovino riscontro anche nei test strumentali. Quindi, dopo un’attenta valutazione, Sabelt ha deciso di equipaggiare
i propri caschi con l’elettronica dell’interfono utilizzato nella configurazione SABELT A. Ciò permetterà di competere con i caschi migliori del mercato.
CONCLUSIONS
By the subjective judgments, on the whole, SABELT A and COMPETITOR 2 obtained the highest scores. Looking at the charts of the previous two stages of
activity, we can see how these results are reflected also in the instrumental tests. So, after accurate considerations, Sabelt has decided to equip its helmets with
intercom used in the helmet SABELT A. This will allow to compete with the best helmets on the market.

I sedili e la loro tecnologia rappresentano oggi per Sabelt un’attività primaria di
eccellenza, iniziata per le competizioni ed oggi conclamata anche per le vetture
supersportive stradali. In entrambi i casi è stata la scelta di materiali pregiati ad
alte prestazioni che ha determinato buona parte
del successo, amplificato dalla leggerezza dei
componenti. Per questo siamo diventati specialisti
nell’uso e nell’applicazione della fibra di carbonio,
unico materiale a detenere le caratteristiche
necessarie ad ottenere questi traguardi.
La nuova norma FIA 8862-2009 ha segnato una nuova frontiera e per molti aspetti una
nuova sfida. Infatti se da un lato è indubbio l’incremento della sicurezza passiva, spesso
i team ne hanno rimarcato gli effetti collaterali dovuto all’aumento del peso (anche del
50% a parità di disegno). È su questo terreno impervio che Sabelt ha giocato le sue
migliori carte, arrivando infine a proporre un sedile conforme del peso complessivo
inferiore a 10 kg (di cui 8,5 kg la sola scocca).
CARBON AND LIGHTNESS
The seats and their technology are today Sabelt’s
primary task of excellence, which began for the
races and today is overt also for road super sport cars . In both cases it was the choice
of quality materials with high performances that has led to much success, amplified
by the lightness of the components. For those reasons we became specialists in
the use and application of carbon fiber, the only material that holds the features to
achieve these goals.
NUOVO CUSCINO ERGONOMICO
WHY FIA-8862
The new Fia 8856-2009 standard has marked a new
frontier and in many aspects a new challenge. In fact,
also if the increase in passive safety is undoubted, often the teams have remarked
the collateral effects due to the increase of weight ( up to 50% for the same drawing).
It is on this rough terrain that Sabelt has played his best cards,proposing a compliant
seat with a total weight less than 10 Kg (8,5 kg for the only shell).

E’ un debutto, quello dei nuovi sedili con scocca mista carbonio e vetroresina,
stampata in RTM. Una nuova generazione di sedili con scocca all’avanguardia per

in applicazione strutturale in carbonio, rigida e leggera, disegnata per arrivare nei
punti maggiormente sollecitati. Il doppio passa cintura per la regolazione delle
cinture, i fori di areazione sullo schienale (anche con sistema di ventilazione forzata
opzionale), la forma avvolgente ed il contenimento laterale, sono il riassunto tecnico
di un’opera eccellente, unica ed esclusiva.
NEW SEATS’ GENERATION
It is a new entry, the new seats with mixed carbon and fiberglass shell, molded in
RTM . A new generation of seats with futuristic shell, for weight and endurance. The
fiberglass shell is completed by a structural application rib, rigid and lightweight,
designed to get the most stressed points. The double shoulder belt slot for harnesses
regulation, the cooling ventilation holes integrated in backrest (also with optional
forced ventilation system ) the shape and the lateral support, are the summary of an
excellent technical work,unique and exclusive.
LA TECNOLOGIA RTM E I SUOI VANTAGGI
Sono due, i nuovi sedili che, nella gamma Sabelt sono prodotti con questa tecnologia
(Resin Transfer Moulding): GT-200 e GT-300. Si tratta di una novità assoluta nel campo
delle competizione che richiede importanti investimenti e garantisce la completa
stabilità di processo ed il controllo sistematico dei valori tecnici della scocca:
- Spessore costante e uniforme applicazione della resina che si traduce in un
comportamento stabile agli impatti in tutte le aree del sedile, senza la variabile
operatore.
- Il controllo dell’iniezione della resina permette di caricare maggiormente le
aree sollecitate e di scaricare quelle non soggette a forze durante l’impatto, con
conseguente efficienza sul peso.
- Il processo di iniezione ed una perfetta lavorazione superficiale dello stampo in
alluminio, consente una finitura liscia e regolare sia all’interno che all’esterno della
scocca, con vantaggi evidenti nell’uso della scocca sfoderata, per esempio in pista o
con appositi “pads” solo in alcune zone della scocca.
RTM TECHNOLOGY AND ITS ADVANTAGES
Two new seats in Sabelt range are produced with this technology (Resin Transfer
Moulding) : GT-200 and GT-300 . This is an absolute novelty in the field of competitions
that requires significant investments and grants the complete process stability and
systematic control of shell technical values:
- Constant thickness and uniform application of the resin which results in a stable
behavior to impacts in all seats areas.
- Accurate and defined thickness at strategical points helps reduce the overall weight
while maximizing stiffness.
- High gloss finishes on both sides of the shell (can be used without
cover for wider range of track uses).
La tradizionale seduta in due pezzi costituita da schienale e cuscino è ora unica e migliora il riempimento
lombare del sedile aumentando il comfort del pilota. Le cuciture orizzontali facilitano il ricircolo dell’aria
riducendo la sudorazione della schiena.
NEW ERGONOMIC CUSHION
The traditional two pieces backrest and base cushion is made up of only one piece and improves the lumbar filling of
seat and driver’s comfort. Horizontal seams help the circulation of air and reduce back perspiration.
HCF (HYBRID CARBON FRAME)
HCF è una costruzione strutturale aggiuntiva in carbonio la cui forma come una nervatura, rinforza ed irrigidisce
la scocca. Il risultato nuovo è una scocca ibrida, parte carbonio, parte vetroresina, particolarmente performante e
sicura, che rappresenta una vera nuova generazione di sedili per tecnica, performance e mercato.
- Il rinforzo posteriore in carbonio (HCF) irrigidisce l’intera scocca migliorando la resistenza in caso di impatto,
soprattutto laterale.
- La maggiore rigidità riduce fortemente la torsione della scocca e ne aumenta la capacità di contenimento in curva.
- La forma della struttura in carbonio è stata progettata per rinforzare le aree soggette ai maggiori carichi
(evidenza sia di un calcolo strutturale che di una serie di test dinamici effettuati).
- La possibilità di rinforzare le aree più sollecitate ha consentito di comporre un plybook che alleggerisse
le zone rimanenti, con conseguente risparmio di peso sulla scocca totale.
HCF (HYBRID CARBON FRAME)
HCF is a construction of additional structural carbon which shape strengthens and stiffens the shell. The new result
is an hybrid shell, part in carbon and part in fiberglass, particularly performance and safe, that represents a true new
seats generation for technique, performance and market.
- The back carbon reinforcement (HCF) stiffens the entire shell improving resistance in case of side impact
- The shape of carbon structure has been designed to strengthen the areas subject to higher loads
(evidence both of a structural analysis and of a series of performed dynamic tests).
- The possibility to reinforce the most stressed areas had allowed to compose a plybook that enlightens
the remaining areas, with consequent weight saving on the total shell.
DOPPIO PASSA CINTURA
La necessità è evidente: permettere una regolazione dell’altezza della bretella facendo in modo però che in caso
di urto il sedile assorba parte dell’energia. Per fare questo è importante che il bordo del passa cintura sia sempre
l’appoggio del nastro e non la clavicola del pilota. Con questo obiettivo abbiamo sdoppiato i fori passa cintura
creando due regolazioni in altezza utilizzabili a seconda della posizione del pilota. In questo modo, in caso di urto, la
componente verticale della forza viene scaricata sul sedile avvantaggiando la sicurezza dell’occupante.
DOUBLE HARNESSES SLOT
The need is clear : to permit a regulation of the heigh of strap making the seat absorbing a part of energy in case
of impact. Proper belt placement insures the seat edge is utilized during a crash rather than drivers shoulders. With
this target we doubled the shoulder belt adjusting slots to better adjustment for various driver heights. In this way,
in case of impact, the vertical force will be supported by the seat improving safety of the driver.
FORI DI AERAZIONE SULLO SCHIENALE
La temperatura ambiente e le condizioni di guida del pilota sono incontrovertibilmente una delle aree critiche a cui la
FIA sta lavorando per migliorare la sicurezza degli equipaggi. La schiena, nella zona lombare a contatto col sedile è
un’area ancora più complessa. E’ grazie agli studi di ergonomia effettuati per le forniture di primo impianto abbiamo
testato la soluzione che prevede due aperture nello schienale che consentono, di base, uno scambio d’aria con la
schiena del pilota o del navigatore. E’ allo studio un improvement per il quale i sedili di oggi sono già predisposti,
che prevede un sistema di ventilazione forzata combinata ad una imbottitura interna che espanda l’aria convogliata
all’interno della scocca.
COOLING VENTILATION HOLES INTEGRATED IN BACKREST
External temperature and driving conditions of the driver are one of the critical areas in which FIA is working to
improve safety of crews. The back, in the lumbar area in contact with the seat is even more complex. It is thanks
to ergonomic studies made for OEM that we tested a solution that includes seatback holes allowing for hot air
exchange to improve driver and co-driver cooling. We are developing an improvement to equip the seat with a forced
air cooling system that the current seat could match in the future. A pump ventilation with connecting tubes and
interchangeable air expansion seatback cushion.

La nuova norma FIA 8862-2009 è nata per garantire, attraverso
l’incremento della rigidità della scocca, una maggiore ed omogenea
protezione per il pilota, idealmente inserito in una cella di sicurezza
completa, in cui tutti i componenti interagiscono. E’ per ottenere
questa riduzione della flessione della scocca che i pesi dei sedili sono
universalmente aumentati, causando un certo allarme fra i team, che
lavorano quotidianamente al contenimento peso delle scocche e degli
allestimenti. Il peso della scocca del sedile GT-620 è di 8,5 Kg, per
un peso totale (che include “impact absorber”, schiume, piastrine di
fissaggio e cover) al di sotto dei 10 Kg, che pone il modello ai vertici
della categoria.
The new FIA specification FIA8862-2009 is born to grant, through
the increasing of body stiffness, a better and uniform protection of
the driver, ideally placed in a complete safety cell, in which all the
components interact.
It’s to obtain the reduction of shell flection that seats weights are
universally increased, causing some alarm among the teams, that daily
work to contain weight of bodies and settings.
The weight of GT-620 shell is 8,5Kg,, for a total weight (that includes
“impact absorber”, foams, fixing plates and cover) of less than 10 kg,
which puts this model at the top of the range.

NEW ALTERNATIVE
The technical list of GT-620 is composed by a lot of
innovations: the use of high resistance carbon, of
structural foams, the mix of materials and specific
stratifications in different sides of shell, the shape
electronically tested on the most popular models of

COME ELEMENTO DI SICUREZZA
Nato per il contenimento della testa del pilota in caso
di ribaltamento e per impedirne la fuoriuscita anche
parziale dal finestrino, il dispositivo di protezione testa
rappresenta oggi anche una protezione negli impatti
laterali grazie alla rigidezza conferita alla struttura. Il
sistema Hybrid Carbon Frame rinforza ed irrigidisce
anche la zona testa, amplificando il miglioramento di
sicurezza.
HEAD RESTRAINT AS SAFETY ELEMENT
Head restraint was initially designed to avoid the body
to hit the inner hard part of the cabin in case of rollover
and partial driver ejection from the window. Today the
head restraint can be considered a protection from the
side impacts thanks to the stiffness of the structure.
HCF (hybrid carbon frame) improves sensibly the
stiffness and rigidity of the shell, improving safety as well.

Sabelt roll cages are characterized by the high quality in production
and development, without making any compromise with safety: well
dimensioned structures designed following final customer’s needs.
Easy mounting Sabelt roll cages range includes CrMo multipoints
homologated and steel E255 ones which comply FIA annex J.
Multipoints roll cages have to be welded while annex J ones might be
bolt-in or bolt-in and welded.
I roll bar Sabelt si distinguono per la qualità di fabbricazione e di progettazione, senza compromessi per la sicurezza: strutture generosamente dimensionate e pensate con l’ottica del cliente finale, di chi cioè
il roll bar lo va a montare in vettura. La gamma, di facile montaggio, si
compone di roll bar multipunti omologati al CrMo, e di roll bar in acciaio
E255 conformi all’Allegato “J” della FIA.
La modalità di montaggio è la saldatura per i multipunti al CrMo, e
mista saldatura/imbullonatura per quelli conformi all’Allegato “J”.
