This Solemnity reminds us of our destiny as children of God, eternal joy with God in Heaven. There will be an additional Mass in the evening at 7 p.m. Friday, August 19th , St. John Eudes, Priest. Saturday, August 20th, St. Bernard, Abbot, Doctor. St. Bernard was born in France in the year 1090. In 1111, he entered the Cistercian Order and was eventually elected abbot of Clairvaux. As an exemplary monk and abbot, his influence extended throughout Europe through his spiritual and theological writings as well as his travels. He died in 1153.
