PATRONAGE The Course is offered by the Department of Surgical Sciences, University of Insubria, Varese-Como, Italy. The Course is intended to be a one-day comprehensive review and update of surgery of the thyroid gland with emphasis on recurrent laryngeal nerve. Surgical techniques will be presented, including recurrent laryngeal nerve identification, preservation, monitoring and reconstruction. Minimally invasive surgical techniques will be thorougly analyzed. Moreover discussions will be focused on recognition and management of nerve injury and new advances in its treatment. This is a special event of the American College of Surgeons Italy Chapter, of the Società Italiana di Chirurgia and of the Società Italiana di Otorinolaringoiatria.
