Welcome to all of our returning and new students to the 2016 Summer School
Program!
The International School in Genoa will offer another fun and exciting summer of day
camp.
The ISG Summer Campers will enjoy indoor and outdoor educational activities
supported by English mother-tongue teachers: activities will be organized in the
classrooms, on the sports field, in the auditorium, in the gymnasium and the school
gardens and with the possibility of local field trips.
Each week students will work on a different theme through fun hands-on learning
activities. Fun activities and events such as the Talent Show, Summer Showcase Show,
will ensure that learning can be loads of fun.

Diamo il benvenuto a tutti gli studenti nel programma della Summer School 2016!
Anche quest’anno l’International School in Genoa offre un campo estivo divertente e
stimolante.
Il nostri studenti del campus estivo potranno partecipare ad attività educative
all’interno e negli spazi esterni della scuola affiancati da insegnanti madrelingua inglese:
le attività saranno organizzate in classe, al campo sportivo, nell’auditorium, in palestra
e nei giardini della scuola con possibilità di uscite nella zona cittadina. Ogni settimana
gli studenti lavoreranno su un tema diverso, attraverso attività pratiche. Altre attività
come l’organizzazione del Talent Show e il Summer Showcase Show assicureranno
l’apprendimento attraverso il divertimento.

WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW
The ISG Summer School is a Program that runs from June 27th to July 22th from 8:30
am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Students may choose between the half day (8:30 to 12:30), full day (8:30 to 3:00) or
extended full day (8:30-5:00) program. Students may also choose between the 2, 3 or 4
week program.
Students must be 3 years of age, (exceptions are made for children enrolled in our
regular Preschool), and cannot be over 14 years of age.
A healthy lunch is provided to both full and part-time students in our cafeteria. Lunches
are cooked on site. A private shuttle service is available from Genova- Sampierdarena
to Nervi at an extra cost.
All students must be registered by May 31th, 2016.
COSA I GENITORI DEVONO SAPERE
La Summer School di ISG è un programma di 4 settimane che inizia il 27 giugno e
termina il 22 luglio, dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 8:30 alle 17:00.
Gli studenti devono gia’ aver compiuto 3 anni ( sono esenti gli studenti iscritti alla al
primo anno della nostra scuola per l’infanzia e non avere più di 14 anni. Gli studenti
potranno scegliere tra il corso part-time (8:30–12:30), a tempo pieno (8:30-15:00)
oppure il tempo pieno esteso (8:30 - 17:00), dal lunedì al venerdì. Gli studenti possono
inoltre scegliere tra il corso di 2 o 4 settimane.
Tutti gli studenti (a part-time e tempo pieno) ricevono un pasto completo. I pasti sono
cucinati presso il nostro istituto. E’ disponibile un servizio di navetta a costo aggiuntivo
che copre l’area tra Genova- Sampierdarena e Nervi.
Tutti gli studenti devono essere iscritti entro il 31 maggio 2016.

The Program aims to promote a summer of fun and learning while meeting new
friends in a safe international environment.
The number one objective for our youngest learners is to have a fun while learning.
They will be learning how to behave responsibly, treat others as they would like
to be treated, and find joy in learning. We will be learning about the world we live
in. Students will be active participants during their own learning, taking part in a
great variety of activities, ranging from sharing their thoughts, feelings and ideas to
kinesthetically experiencing the English language.

PROGRAMMA DELLA GIORNATA
Il programma ha lo scopo di proporre un’estate di divertimento e di apprendimento,
in un contesto internazionale in cui fare nuovi amici.
L’obbiettivo per i nostri giovani studenti è di avvicinarli all’apprendimento della lingua
inglese attraverso il divertimento e la scoperta. I bambini impareranno a comportarsi
in modo responsabile, a interagire con gli altri e a trovare gioia nell’apprendimento.
Impareremo del mondo che ci circonda. Gli studenti avranno una parte attiva in classe,
prendendo parte ad un gran numero di attività, passando dalla condivisione dei propri
pensieri, dei propri sentimenti ed idee, all’acquisizione della lingua inglese attraverso
attività pratiche e laboratori.
The ISG Summer Camp supports a successful transition from Kindergarten to
Elementary school, building a foundation for the English language for students to
work with during their first years at school.
Language can be expressed in a variety of ways: speaking is only one of them. During
Physical Education, English language classes or Arts and Crafts students will learn how
to express themselves through a variety of media.
Special activities will include: Water Games and a Talent Show!

Il Campo estivo dell’ISG consente un positivo passaggio dalla scuola materna alla
scuola elementare, costruendo le fondamenta per una lingua inglese che servirà ai
ragazzi nei primi anni delle elementari. Il linguaggio può essere espresso in molti modi:
la parola è solo uno di questi modi. Durante educazione fisica, inglese o arte i ragazzi
impareranno ad esprimersi attraverso una varietà di differenti mezzi espressivi. Sono
previste anche attività speciali tra le quali: i Water Games e un Talent Show!

At this level students will be able to discuss a theme in more depth. This will make it
easier for students to learn a new language as reasoning will help to make connections
between words and images. Students will have the opportunity to use technology to
practice their language skills online.
During role plays, students will learn how to apply language in real life situations, such
as ordering food at a restaurant. Emphasis will be put onto speaking and applying
newly gained vocabulary. Special Activities: Water Games and a Talent Show!

PROGRAMMA DELLA GIORNATA
In questo gruppo i ragazzi saranno in grado di discutere un tema con maggiore
profondità, pertanto sarà più facile per gli studenti imparare una nuova lingua, grazie
al ragionamento che permette di fare connessioni tra parole ed immagini. I ragazzi
avranno la possibilità di impiegare tecnologie e usare le capacità linguistiche on line.
Durante i giochi di ruolo gli studenti impareranno ad utilizzare la lingua nelle situazioni
della vita reale, come per esempio ordinare un pasto al ristorante. Si porrà l’accento
sulla parola e sul linguaggio appena acquisito.
Attività speciali includeranno i Water Games e un Talent Show!
Students will be able to express their creative minds in many ways. One of many
ways is to create their own game. The teacher supports students in understanding
simple concepts, such as rules on how to play a game, which can then be applied when
inventing a new game. It is up to the individual’s imagination and creativity how to
transform simple rules into a new and exciting activity for the whole class. Further
special activities will be the Water Games and a Talent Show!

Gli studenti potranno esprimere la propria creatività in molti modi. Uno di questi
modi sarà creare i propri giochi. Gli insegnanti aiuteranno i ragazzi a capire alcuni
semplici concetti, come le regole alla base dei giochi, concetti che possono essere
applicati nella creazione di nuovi giochi. Dipende quindi dall’immaginazione del singolo
trasformare delle semplici regole in giochi interessanti per tutta la classe. Oltre a
queste attività speciali ci saranno i Water Games e il talent show!

The emphasis for students in this age group is on developing their listening, speaking,
reading and writing skills. Grammar will be part of English lessons as it will give them a
basis for developing their language in either of the four language areas.The rest of the
day can be used to explore newly learned language laws while interacting with other
students. Staging a Socratic Seminar is one method to practice the language skills. Do
not miss this opportunity and become part of this great learning experience!
Special Activities: Level 1 Buddies, Talent Show , Socratic Seminar, Water Games.
PROGRAMMA DELLA GIORNATA
L’accento per gli studenti di questo gruppo di età viene posto sullo sviluppo
dell’ascolto e della parola, sulle capacità di lettura e di scrittura. La grammatica sarà
parte delle lezioni di inglese in quanto darà ai ragazzi le basi per sviluppare la loro
capacità espressiva nelle quattro aree del linguaggio. Il resto della giornata potrà
essere utilizzato per esplorare le regole della lingua appena imparata attraverso
l’interazione con gli altri studenti. Mettere in scena un’opera di Socrate è un modo
per praticare le competenze linguistiche. Non perdere l’occasione per essere parte
di una grande esperienza di apprendimento!
Attività speciali: Livello1 Buddies, Talent Show, Seminari di Socrate e i Water Games.
Would you like to spend some more quality time with your peers, new friends on our
beautiful campus? This year we offer the possibility to extend on a weekly basis the
Summer School time to 5:00 pm. Our enthusiastic team will ensure that your children
are in the best hands. Please note that the minimum number of children required to
run the After School Program is 5 students. The cost for the After School Program
will be 90€ per week.

Vorreste trascorrere più tempo con i vostri amici nel nostro bellissimo campus?
Quest’anno offriamo la possibilità di estendere settimanalmente la Summer School
fino alle ore 17:00. I vostri bambini saranno in ottime mani con il nostro team! Vi
segnaliamo che il numero minimo di bambini richiesti per l’avvio del doposcuola sarà
di 5 studenti. Il costo del programma dopo scuola sarà di 90€ alla settimana.
