DESCRIZIONE
GESA MEDIUM è un terreno di trasporto semi-solido utilizzato per biopsie gastriche e specifico per l'isolamento e l'identificazione di
Helicobacter pylori.
CONTENUTO DEL KIT
Ciascuna confezione contiene 20 provette da 1 ml ed 1 foglio istruzioni.
PRINCIPIO DEL METODO
Helicobacter pylori è un patogeno gastroduodenale, agente causale di malattie come ulcera peptica e gastrite nonché fattore di rischio
nell'insorgenza del carcinoma gastrico. La resistenza ai chemio-antibiotici rappresenta la maggior causa di fallimento delle terapie, perciò
risulta di primaria importanza effettuare i test di sensibilità agli antimicrobici con un recupero del batterio in primo isolamento dal
campione bioptico. GESA MEDIUM mantiene la vitalità di Helicobacter pylori nel tempo favorendo la conservazione ed evitando la
contaminazione del campione bioptico durante il trasporto.

PROCEDURA DEL TEST
1. Portare a temperatura ambiente o, preferibilmente a 36±1°C, le provette di GESA MEDIUM occorrenti.
2. Aprire le provette solo immediatamente prima dell’inoculo.
3. Inoculare introducendo il campione all’interno della provetta utilizzando un ago sterile.
4. Richiudere immediatamente la provetta.
5. Inviare in laboratorio per l'esame microbiologico (il campione può essere conservato in GESA MEDIUM a 2-8°C fino a 7 giorni dal
prelievo).
CONTROLLO QUALITÀ PER L'UTILIZZATORE
1. Controllo visivo: terreno giallo paglierino, limpido senza precipitati.

GESA MEDIUM non è classificato come pericoloso ai sensi della legislazione vigente, in ogni caso per il suo uso si consiglia di consultare
la scheda di sicurezza. Il terreno è destinato esclusivamente ad uso diagnostico in vitro e deve essere utilizzato in laboratorio da operatori
adeguatamente addestrati, con metodi approvati di asepsi e di sicurezza nei confronti dei patogeni.
CONDIZIONI DI CONSERVAZIONE E TRASPORTO
Conservare GESA MEDIUM a 2-8°C al riparo dalla luce nella sua confezione originale, fino alla data di scadenza indicata in etichetta.
Tuttavia i nostri studi di stabilità hanno dimostrato che la conservazione o il trasporto a 18-25°C per 4 giorni, oppure a 35-39°C per 48 ore,
non alterano in nessun modo l'efficienza del prodotto. Eliminare se vi sono segni evidenti di deterioramento o contaminazione.
ELIMINAZIONE DEL MATERIALE USATO
Dopo l’utilizzazione di GESA MEDIUM tutto il materiale venuto a contatto con il campione in esame o con colture dello stesso, deve
essere decontaminato e smaltito in accordo con le tecniche in uso in laboratorio.

Transport medium of gastric biopsies for
the isolation and identification of Helicobacter pylori.
DESCRIPTION
GESA MEDIUM is a semi-solid transport medium used for gastric biopsies, particularly for the isolation and identification of Helicobacter
pylori.
KIT CONTENTS
Each package contains 20 tubes of 1 ml and 1 instruction sheet.
METHOD PRINCIPLE
Helicobacter pylori is a gastroduodenal pathogen, the causal agent of diseases such as peptic ulcer and gastritis, also described as a risk
factor in the onset of gastric cancer. Resistance to chemo-antibiotics is the major cause of treatment failure, therefore it is of primary
importance to perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing with a recovery of the bacterium in isolation from the first biopsy specimen.
GESA MEDIUM maintains the Helicobacter pylori viability over time favouring the preservation and avoiding contamination of the biopsy
specimen during transport.

TEST PROCEDURE
1. Bring the necessary GESA MEDIUM tubes to room temperature or preferably at 36±1°C.
2. Open the tubes until immediately before inoculation.
3. Inoculate introducing the sample into the tube using a sterile needle.
4. Close the tube immediately.
5. Send to the laboratory for microbiological examination (the sample can be stored in GESA MEDIUM at 2-8°C for up to 7 days of
collection).

PRECAUTIONS
GESA MEDIUM is not classified as hazardous under current legislation, anyway for its use it is recommend to consult the MSDS. The
medium is intended for in vitro diagnostic use only and should be used in the laboratory by properly trained operators, with approved
methods of aseptic and safety against pathogens.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT CONDITIONS
2-8°C away from light in its original package, until the expiry date shown on the label. However, our stability studies have shown that the
storage or transport at 18-25°C for 4 days, or at 35-39°C for 48 hours, do not alter in any way the performance of the product. Eliminate if
signs of deterioration or contamination are evident.

BESCHREIBUNG
GESA MEDIUM ist ein halbfestes Transportmedium für Magenbiopsien, insbesondere zur Isolierung und Identifizierung von Helicobacter
pylori.
INHALT
Jede Packung enthält 20 Fläschchen mit 1 ml Medium und 1 Gebrauchsanleitung
TESTPRINZIP
Helicobacter pylori ist ein a gastroduodenaler Krankheitserreger. Er ist Auslöser von Krankheiten wie Magen- und
Zwölffingerdarmgeschwür und Magenschleimhautentzündung und wird außerdem als Risikofaktor für den Ausbruch von Magenkrebs
beschrieben. Resistenz gegenüber Antibiotika ist der Hauptgrund für Therapieversager, deshalb ist es von grundlegender Bedeutung
antimikrobielle Empfindlichkeitstests mit den aus Biopsiematerial isolierten Bakterien durchzuführen.
GESA MEDIUM erhält die Lebensfähigkeit von Helicobacter pylori für längere Zeit, unterstützt dessen Erhaltungszustand und verhindert
Kontaminationen des Biopsiematerials während des Transports.

DURCHFÜHRUNG
1. Die Anzahl der benötigten GESA MEDIUM Fläschchen auf Raumtemperatur bringen (bevorzugt 36±1°C).
2. Die Fläschchen unmittelbar vor der Inokulation öffnen.
3. Zur Inokulation die Probe mit einer sterilen Nadel ins Medium einbringen.
4. Fläschchen sofort wieder verschließen.
5. Zur mikrobiologischen Untersuchung ins Labor versenden (die Probe kann im GESA MEDIUM bei 2-8°C für bis zu 7 Tage nach der
Entnahme aufbewahrt werden).

GESA MEDIUM wird entsprechend aktueller Gesetzgebung nicht als gefährlich eingestuft. Dennoch sollte das Sicherheitsdatenblatt für den
korrekten Gebrauch gelesen werden. Das Produkt ist für den professionellen Gebrauch in der in vitro Diagnostik hergestellt und sollte von
entsprechend geschultem Personal unter anerkannten aseptischen Methoden und unter Einhaltung der Sicherheit für pathogene
Reagenzien verwendet werden.
LAGERUNG UND TRANSPORTBEDINGUNGEN
2-8°C lichtgeschützt in Originalverpackung bis zum Verfallsdatum auf der Verpackung. Stabilitätsstudien haben gezeigt, dass der Transport
bei 18-25°C für 4 Tage oder bei 35-39°C für 48 Stunden die Eigenschaften des Produkts nicht beeinflusst. Entsorgen, wenn Anzeichen von
Verfall oder Kontaminationen ersichtlich sind.
