La collezione primavera estate 2014 si distingue
per le sue importanti tecniche vetrarie.
Le fasce applicate a caldo, le Murrine bicolore,
le lavorazioni a mano volante e le stampature
a caldo delle superfici unite alla capacità di
riprodurre affascinati sfumature cromatiche
pongono l’attenzione sulla creatività che
caratterizza da sempre la produzione VENINI.
The 2014 spring/summer collection features
some important glass-making techniques. Stripes
applied when glass is hot, two-colored murrinas,
the flying hand technique, together with the
ability to produce fascinating color shadings,
emphasize the creativity that characterizes
VENINI since its establishment.
COLORI
Il colore Alessandrite prende il nome dalla omonima
COLORS
pietra che per la prima volta è stata trovata nella
seconda metà dell ‘ 800 in Russia e che fu donata
al futuro Zar Alessandro. La caratteristica della pietra
è quella di avere un colore “mutante“, nel vetro si
è cercato di ricostruire la formazione chimica di
questa pietra e si è ottenuto un vetro anch’esso
“mutante” dalla sfumature del celeste al violarosato.
The so called “Alessandrite” color, takes its name
from the stone of the same name, discovered for the
first time in Russia in the middle of the 19th century
and it was donated to the future Tsar Alexander. The
most particular feature of this stone is to have a
changing color. VENINI achieved this effect also on
glass, by recreating the chemical composition of
the stone. The color obtained is a shading between
sky blue, violet and pink.

La combinazione di queste tonalità si distingue per
la sua caratteristica contemporaneità.
Mustard color and Bamboo Green. The
combination of this color is really particular and
very contemporary.
TECNICHE
TECHNIQUE
BATTUTI - MOLATI
Il vetro battuto è caratterizzato da una superficie
molata in modo da realizzare innumerevoli piccoli
segni irregolari adiacenti e paralleli.
BEATEN and GRINDED GLASS
Beaten glass is characterized by a grinded
surface with countless irregular incisions.
INCISI
Il vetro Inciso si esegue con una mola di pietra dura
incidendo sulla superficie fredda dell’oggetto.
ENGRAVED VASES
Engraved glass is obtained with a stone wheel able
to engrave the external surface of glass
INCALMO
La tecnica ad incalmo è molto complessa e consiste
nell’accoppiare a caldo due forme soffiate, lungo
la loro circonferenza, così da ottenere in uno stesso
oggetto zone differenziate e solitamente di colore
diverso.
INCALMO
The incalmo technique is a very complicated one.
With this particular technique it is possible to join two
different pieces by their diameter when glass is still
hot. It is possible to have two different colors in one
piece.
MURRINE
Consiste nell’unione di canne di vetro di vario
colore formati da un disegno prestabilito che sono
poi riscaldate fino a formare una canna unica. Le
canne è poi tagliata ottenendo una serie di piccoli
dischi. Poi disposti secondo un disegno prestabilito,
sono riscaldati, lavorati e soffiati sino a ottenere la
forma definitiva dell’oggetto.
MURRINE
The murrinas are obtained by joining several glass
canes following a precise drawing. The cane is then
cut and the murrinas are put on a stone following
a drawing made by the designer. The stone is put
inside a furnace and the pieces melt. The final
piece is then shaped.
FASCE
Su un corpo centrale generalmente trasparente
sono colati a caldo dei fili colorati chiamati “fasce”.
Si ottiene così un disegno cromatico irregolare e di
grande effetto.

Some colored wires made of glass are melt on
a central body, usually made in a transparent
color. In tgis way it is possible to obtain a beautiful
multicolored irregular drawing.
BALLOTON - PIGNA - BUGNATO
Tecniche usate per ottenere particolari effetti ottici.
Si basa sull’uso di uno stampo che, durante la
soffiatura, conferiscono all’oggetto un effetto molto
decorativo.

This technique are used to obtain very particular
effects on the surface of the objects. It is obtained
by blowing glass inside a mould that gives the
object a decorative effect.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE PRODUCTS
The uniqueness of VENINI’s production is given by handcraft
procedures followed during all working processes. Some
shades or bubbles, that might be found on the glass, underline
that every single piece is entirely handmade and even if similar
to the others, each single piece is unique.
