he Agritechnica 2007 industrial fair at Hanover will certainly be one of those events
to remember for New Holland, the
Fiat group’s farm and construction
equipment company. What else
could one say of a haul of awards
any company would have been
happy to pick up over a couple of
years? Machine of the Year, Tractor
of the Year, Golden Tractor for Design, and a gold and two silver
medals as ‘minor’ prizes. “Agritechnica 2007 has been an extraordinary show for us”, said Carlo Lambro, New Holland Europe’s vicepresident in what was surely no understatement. “The awards are a
great recognition of the innovative
approach we take to product development and the massive investments we have made to create
machines offering our customers
the best in terms of productivity
and reliability”.
A jury of specialist journalists from
all over Europe named New Holland’s T7000 tractor as Tractor of
the Year and for the Golden Tractor
for Design in recognition of the new
benchmarks it sets for performance
and comfort (see separate article).
The Machine of the Year award
from DLV, publisher of top farming and equipment magazines
such as DLZ Agrarmagazin, Agrar
Technik, Wochenblatt and Neue
Landwirtschaft, went to New Holland’s FR9000 forage harvester.

Elevation per il sistema
Grain Cam, il cassone crivellante Opti-Clean e il sistema IntelliCruise, si sono
aggiunti i prestigiosi riconoscimenti “Tractor of the
Year” e “Golden design”,
con i quali una giuria composta da giornalisti della stampa di settore di tutta Europa
ha voluto premiare la Serie
T7000 per i nuovi standard
raggiunti in termini di prestazioni e comfort (se ne parla

the German agricultural association, to the CR9080 Elevation combine for its Grain Cam system, OptiClean hopper and IntelliCruise navigation system.

But New Holland’s headline grabbing did not stop at the awards. The
company also unveiled a new top
of the range model for the T8000,
envisaged primarily for large farms
and sub-contractors. The 357 HP
T8050 is powered by a 24-valve.
9,000 cc New Holland diesel with
common rail injection. The power
unit, classified as Tier III compliant
for its emissions, has had its pistons
and fuel injectors redesigned to
produce greater power, better yield
per unit of fuel and even lower
emissions. The torque reserve of
56% and power reserve of 34 HP
gives the tractor a significant power
boost, meaning it can easily handle
the most demanding equipment.
Customers can choose between
four transmission options with full
Powershift, including the new Ultra
Command 19x4 up to 40 km/h to
ensure a fluid gear change without
using the clutch from 1st to 19th
gear. This saves significant amounts
of fuel during highway use and also
reduces noise in the cab.
The high-performance, closed-centre hydraulic system with load sensor and a flow rate of 166 litres a
minute is fitted to all the models. Up
to five remote auxiliary distributors
can be fitted, while a new distributor
management system gives precise
calibration of their settings to optimise use of the hydraulic cylinder.
The system can also be fitted with
timers and flow control.
The cab has been christened the
Luxury with reason; its comfort is
supreme and made all the easier by
the IntelliView II monitor linked to
the tractor’s CAN-bus. The automatic PTO clutch is integrated into
row-end management so the driver

can set exactly when a tool should
be lifted to a given height or lowered
into a working configuration. For
customers who want to use New
Holland Precision Land Management, IntelliSteer automatic guidance can be installed in the factory.
T6000 Range Command,
Power Command
A further extension of the New Holland range was the introduction of
four new six-cylinder models of the
T6000, with NEF common rail power units producing 115-180 HP.
Range Command gives continuous
gear changes and Power Command automatic power increases,
with automatic engine regime control to improve performance on the
road and in the field, all this also
with a new four-support Horizon
cab.
Tested Combine Productivity
New Holland also brought a series
of novelties to its well-known combine harvesters for the Agritechnica
equipment fest, for example lateral
versions of the CS6000 and
CSX7000 (see Mondo Macchina
10-11) and the debutant TC5000
combine, consisting of three models
with four or five straw walkers and
engines producing 170 to 241 HP.
Thanks to cutting-edge technology
for the engine and harvesting unit,
the TC5000 offers higher performance at lower costs – especially,
delicate handling of the harvested
crop to ensure high straw quality.
Then, as always in New Holland
products, a comfortable cab giving
the driver as quiet a ride as anywhere.

Ai clienti è offerta la possibilità di scelta tra quattro trasmissioni con PowerShift integrale, tra cui la nuova trasmissione Ultra Command
19 x 4 fino a 40 km/h che assicura un cambio di marcia
fluido senza l’uso della frizione dalla 1ª alla 19ª marcia.
Quest’ultima permette un
notevole risparmio di carburante durante i trasferimenti
su strada ad alta velocità, oltre a ridurre la rumorosità all’interno dell’abitacolo. L’impianto idraulico ad alte prestazioni a centro chiuso con
sensore di carico è di serie su
tutti i modelli e ha una portata di 166 litri al minuto. Sul
trattore possono essere installati fino ad un massimo di
cinque distributori ausiliari
elettroidraulici e un nuovo sistema di gestione dei distributori che permette di regolarne con precisione le impostazioni per ottimizzare l’azionamento del cilindro,oltre
che la portata e la funzione
temporizzata.
Altamente confortevole la
cabina Luxury, con il monitor IntelliView II di serie,
collegato al sistema CANbus del trattore. Il sistema di
inserimento/disinserimento
automatico della pdp integrato nel sistema di gestione
automatica delle svolte a fine campo permette all’operatore di programmare esattamente il punto in cui disinserire e reinserire la pdp
quando un attrezzo viene
sollevato ad una determinata
altezza o riabbassato nella
configurazione di lavoro. Il
T8050 è disponibile a richiesta con il sistema di guida automatica IntelliSteer, installabile in fabbrica per i clienti
che intendano utilizzarlo
nell’ambito dei sistemi Precision Land Management di
New Holland.
T6000 Range Command e
Power Command
La gamma di trattori New
Holland T6000 è stata completata per il 2008 con l’introduzione di quattro nuovi
modelli a sei cilindri, provvisti di motori Nef Common
Rail da 115 a 180 CV. Tra le
principali caratteristiche le
trasmissioni con cambio
marce in continuo Range
Command e Power Command, il dispositivo di incremento automatico della po-
tenza, le modalità automatiche di cambio marce, il sistema di controllo automatico
del regime motore per incrementare la produttività in
campo e su strada e la nuova
cabina Horizon a 4 montanti.
Produttività collaudata per
le mietitrebbie TC5000
Numerose le novità presentate dal marchio giallo-blu
di casa Fiat anche per quel
che riguarda le mietitrebbie.
Oltre all’introduzione dei
modelli Lateral nelle serie
CS6000 e CSX7000, di cui si
è parlato nel numero 10-11
di “Mondo Macchina”, va
segnalato il debutto della serie di mietitrebbie TC5000,
composta di 3 modelli a 4 e
5 scuotipaglia nella fascia di
potenza da 170 CV (125
kW) a 241 CV (177 kW).
Grazie alle soluzioni avanzate adottate per il motore e
la tecnologia di raccolta, le
TC5000 sono in grado di offrire prestazioni superiori
con costi di esercizio inferiori. In evidenza il trattamento delicato del prodotto
per una paglia di alta qualità
e la cabina confortevole per
la massima tranquillità dell’operatore.

UN TRATTORE PER IL PAPA
Lo scorso ottobre l’amministratore delegato della Fiat
Sergio Marchionne ha consegnato a Papa Benedetto
XVI le chiavi dello speciale trattore che New Holland
ha voluto donare al Pontefice. Esemplare unico,
completamente bianco e decorato con la Stemma
Papale, il trattore New Holland modello T7050 avrà il
compito di trainare e posizionare l’enorme pedana
destinata ad ospitare il Papa nel corso delle Udienze
Generali del mercoledì in Piazza San Pietro.
A TRACTOR FOR THE POPE
Last October Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne presented
Pope Benedict XVI with the keys to a special tractor,
which New Holland has donated to the Pontiff. The
unique New Holland model T7050 tractor is completely white and carries the Papal Coat
of Arms, and will be used to tow the huge platform, which accommodates His Holiness
during his regular Wednesday General Audiences in St Peter’s Square, into position.
