Major vineyard owner in the
southern part of the denomination. Its policy is to produce
only Nobile of riserva qualità
with good ageing capacity.
A tour
to the Carpineto Winery ded us the chance to taste a
flight of their 1990-2003 wines. The 1988 Vino Nobile Riserva
was the first vintage in temperature-controlled cellars , and is a
perfect example of a wine that still maintains its youth despite its
age. Another outstanding wine in this company’s portfolio is the
1986 Vin Santo (60% Trebbiano, 40% Malvasia) a sinfully
accompaniment to cheese. Founded in 1967, Carpineto takes great
care to match the rootstock to its different varieties of soil to
ultimately produce 2 million, 1/2 litre bottles of which two -thirds
are riserva.

Riserva. Loaded with dark fruit, earth and tobacco, it picks up notes of plum and chocolate
in the finish. Montepulciano’s namesake restores my belief

Carpineto è una delle aziende toscane che
meglio riescono ad interpretare il territorio e di conseguenza
a creare prodotti di ottima qualità con uno stretto legame con
il luogo dove la vite ha trovato un grande habitat per crescere. Un bell’esempio è questo Vino Nobile di ontepulciano dal
colore rosso rubino non particolarmente intenso con riflessi
brillanti e vivi. I profumi sono decisamente molto intensi con
delle note di frutta rossa che ricordano la ciliegia e l’amarena
e piacevoli sensazioni speziate come la cannella ed il pepe nero. Il finale di profumi è di ottima eleganza e persistenza. In
bocca si sente una sensazione tannica iniziale che però non
disturba anzi è ben amalgamata con la struttura. Il finale è
di buona ricchezza con note eleganti di frutti di bosco pur
mantenendo anche una buona morbidezza unita a un grande
carattere che sicuramente migliorerà con il passare del tempo. Si abbina molto bene a piatti di carne rossa come le puntine di maiale o le salsicce alla griglia………”

Nez complexe exhalant des notes de réglisse et de pin sous la
robe grenat sombre. Il est également marqué d’effluves de
noyau de cerise. Prenez plaisir ° déguster ce rouge montrant
une bonne acidité et pourvu de tannins serrés. Á cela s’ajoutent des saveurs de tabac et de raisin de Corinthe. Dévoilant
une bouche ample, il persiste longuement dans une belle fiJanvier 2008

mais il en reste peu dans le réseau malheureusement, le Vino Nobile de
Montepulciano Riserva 2001, Carpineto, au beau nez de cuir sur une bouche où le
sangiovese montre des tannins fermes mais de qualité, dans un ensemble fruité à
souhait, avec en même temps une certaine austérité qu’apprécieront les amateurs
de vins toscans»
