NOTICE OF SCHOLARSHIPS - ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-2018

Premise
The scholarships awarded by the Rome International School’s Amateur Sports Club (‘ASD-RIS’)
provide a real opportunity to recognise the merit of students of Rome International School. This
initiative reflects the importance that RIS gives to recognising merit, in addition to the other types
of incentives promoted by the school.
The Board of Directors has decided to publish this call for applications for scholarships to be
awarded to deserving RIS students who are in possession of the specified requirements. There
are six scholarships to be awarded on the basis of academic merit (three for Elementary School
and three for Middle/High School).
The successful candidates and their families will receive official notification from ASD-RIS by 5th
May 2017. The list of award winners will subsequently be published in the weekly newsletter.
Article 1 - Eligible candidates
•
Students may apply for an ASD-RIS scholarship for the academic year 2017-2018 following
presentation of their application for enrolment in one of the classes between Grades 1 and
13 at RIS for the same academic year and who are in possession of the requirements
contained in Article 2 below.
•
Only one application per student and per family may be submitted.
•
Students of Middle/High School may not apply if their conduct mark is below B.
•
The award of a scholarship under this initiative may not be combined with the award of a
scholarship and/or awards in recognition of merit or for possession of the characteristics of
the IB Learner Profile awarded by Rome International School.

Article 2 - Requirements
•
For Elementary School: a final mark of no less than CM (achievement) in the previous
academic year and a mark of no less than CM (achievement) in the report for the first term
of the current year.
•
For Middle/High School: a final mark of no less than 6A in the previous academic year (for
those in Grade 8 to Grade 12 inclusive; CM for those in Grade 7) and of no less than an
average grade of 6 (for those in Grade 13) and a mark of no less than 6A in the report for
the first term of the current year (for those in Grade 7 to Grade 11 inclusive) and of no less
than an average mark of 6 for those in Grades 12 and 13.
•
Payments must have been made regularly to ASD-RIS and/or the School.
Article 3 - Criteria for the award of scholarships for academic merit
•
A list will be drawn up ranking the award winners (one list for Elementary School and one
for Middle/High School). For the Middle/High School ranking, if two candidates are of equal
academic merit, the scholarship will be awarded to the student whose family income is
lower. If the ranking is still equal, the scholarship will be awarded to the youngest student.
•
For the Elementary School ranking, in the case of equal academic merit, the award will be
assigned to the student with the greatest number of attributes under the IB Learner Profile.
If the ranking is still equal, the scholarship will be awarded to the youngest student.
Article 4 - Documents to be included with the application
•
A copy of the tax return or a copy of the ‘modello unico’ for fiscal year 2015 of family
members;
•
School report for academic year 2015-2016 and for the first term of academic year 20162017;
•
Family status certificate dated no earlier than one month before the date of presentation of
the application.
Article 5 – Value of a single scholarship
The value of each scholarship is €1.500 (one thousand five hundred euros). Payment will be made
directly to RIS to be offset against the enrolment fees for academic year 2017-2018. The award of

a scholarship will, under no circumstances, entail the payment of money directly to the beneficiary.
The scholarship is not transferable; it cannot give rise to any form of reimbursement and
presupposes the student’s attendance for the entire academic year for which it was awarded.
Article 6 – Deadline for presenting an application
All applications for the scholarships must be received in a sealed envelope by ASD-RIS at the RIS
Admissions Office by 31 March 2017.
Article 7 - Evaluation Committee and procedure for the award of scholarship
The Committee for the award of scholarships referred to in this notice is composed of the members
of the Board of Directors. The commission, directly or by proxy granted to one of its members,
performs the investigation of all applications after the expiry of the terms specified in article 6. All
decisions are taken collegially. The absence of any conditions of eligibility, the lack of requirements
requested by this notice or, finally, a lack of documentary evidence will lead to the exclusion of
candidates from the assessment of the existence of conditions for academic or sporting merits.

Premessa
Le borse di studio erogate dalla Associazione RIS costituiscono una concreta opportunità per
realizzare una policy di riconoscimento del merito a favore degli studenti della Rome International
School, in linea con l’importanza che la RIS attribuisce al merito e in aggiunta alle ulteriori forme di
incentivi promosse dalla Scuola.
Il Consiglio Direttivo ha deliberato di pubblicare il presente bando per l’assegnazione di borse di studio
ad alunni meritevoli della RIS in possesso di specifici requisiti: 6 borse di studio (tre per la Primary
School e tre per la Secondary School) saranno assegnate per merito accademico.
La comunicazione ufficiale dell’avvenuta assegnazione ai vincitori e alle famiglie avverrà tramite
comunicazione dell’Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica RIS entro il 5 maggio 2017. La lista dei
nominativi degli assegnatari sarà successivamente pubblicata sulla weekly newsletter.
Art. 1 Soggetti eleggibili
•
Possono presentare domanda per le borse di studio erogate dalla A.S.D. RIS per l'a.s. 20172018 gli studenti iscritti o che abbiano fatto richiesta di iscrizione ad una delle classi comprese
tra grade 1 e grade 13 presso la RIS per il medesimo anno scolastico e che siano in possesso
dei requisiti di cui al successivo Art.2.
•
Per ogni nucleo familiare può essere presentata una sola domanda.
•
Per gli studenti della Middle/High School il voto in condotta inferiore a B è causa di
inammissibilità della domanda.
•
L'assegnazione della borsa di studio di cui al presente bando non è cumulabile con
l'assegnazione delle borse di sudio e/o degli awards per motivi di merito o per il possesso delle
caratteristiche proprie dell'IB Learner Profile assegnati dalla RIS.

Art. 2 Requisiti
•
Per la Elementary School: giudizio finale riportato nell’anno scolastico precedente non inferiore
a CM (“achievement”) e giudizio nel report del primo trimestre/quadrimestre dell'anno in corso
non inferiore a CM (achievement);
•
Per la Secondary School: giudizio finale riportato nell'anno scolastico precedente non
inferiore a 6A (per gli iscritti da Grade 8 a Grade 12 inclusi; CM per gli iscritti in Grade 7)
ovvero non
•
inferiore alla media del 6 (per gli iscritti in Grade 13) e giudizio nel report del primo
trimestre/quadrimestre dell'anno in corso non inferiore a 6A (per gli iscritti da Grade 7 a Grade
11 inclusi) e non inferiore alla media del 6 per gli iscritti in Grade 12 e Grade 13.
•
Regolarità nei pagamenti a favore della A.S.D. RIS e/o della Scuola.
Art.3 Criteri di assegnazione delle borse di studio per merito accademico
•
Sarà costituita una graduatoria degli aventi diritto (una per la Elementary School e una per la
Secondary). Per la Secondary School a parità di condizioni di merito si considera assegnatario
lo studente il cui reddito familiare sia inferiore. In caso di ulteriore parità, sarà assegnatario lo
studente più giovane.
•
Per la Elementary School a parità di condizioni di merito si considera assegnatario lo studente
che dimostri il possesso del maggior numero di attributi relativi all'IB learner profile. In caso di
ulteriore parità sarà assegnatario lo studente più giovane.
Art. 4 Documenti da allegare alla domanda
•
Copia della dichiarazione dei redditi o del modello unico dell'anno fiscale 2015 dei componenti
il nucleo familiare;
•
Report dell'a.s. 2015-2016 e del primo trimestre/quadrimestre dell'a.s. 2016-2017;
•
Stato di famiglia di data non anteriore a un mese dal momento della presentazione della
domanda.
Art.5 Importo della singola borsa di studio
Il valore di ogni borsa di studio è pari a €. 1.500(EuroMillecinquecento/00). L’erogazione avviene in

forma di pagamento diretto di tale importo alla RIS a fronte di quanto dovuto per tasse di iscrizione
relative all’anno scolastico 2017/2018. In nessun caso l’assegnazione della borsa di studio darà luogo
a erogazioni di denaro direttamente al beneficiario, la borsa di studio non è trasferibile, non può dar
luogo ad alcuna forma di rimborso e presuppone la frequenza dell'intero anno scolastico per il quale è
stata assegnata.
Art.6 Termini per la presentazione della domanda
Tutte le domande per le borse di studio dovranno pervenire in busta chiusa indirizzata all'ASD RIS,
presso l’admissions office della RIS, entro il 31 Marzo 2017.
Art. 7. Commissione per l’assegnazione delle borse di studio e procedure
La Commissione per l’assegnazione delle Borse di studio di cui al presente bando è formata dai
membri del Consiglio Direttivo. La Commissione, direttamente o per delega rilasciata ad uno o più dei
suoi membri, esegue l’istruttoria delle domande dopo la scadenza dei termini di cui all’art. 6 e assume
collegialmente le proprie decisioni. L’assenza delle condizioni di eleggibilità, la mancanza dei requisiti
previsti dal presente bando o infine le carenze documentali determinano l’esclusione dei candidati
dall’accertamento della sussistenza delle condizioni di merito accademico o sportivo.
