AMBITI DI RICERCA
The scientific interest and skills are regional geology, field mapping, structural and sedimentological analysis.
His research has mainly been devoted to the reconstruction of the geological and structural setting of Western
Sicily and the Southern Apennines. Particularly he carried out stratigraphic and structural studies in the Palermo
Mts., Madonie and Termini Imerese Mts., in Western Sicily and in the Egadi Islands. I also studied relation
between tectonic and sedimentation. Analogue studies have also been carried out in the Southern Apennines.
During geological survey he completed detail maps of over 4.000 square km of Western Sicily and the Southern
Apennines. The results of his research have been published in about 170 papers, abstracts and geological maps,
also presented in national and international.
