Mid ruby with orange tinges. Exotically spiced nose with black tea leaves and sweet red fruit
that is still a little closed. Full, sweet fruit with amazing racy acidity and lots of grainy

Complex and aromatic with elegant red cherries, plums, spice and subtle earth, with hints of
pepper. The palate is fresh with some spiciness and just a hint of balsamic character, as
well as bright, supple, spicy cherry and berry fruit. Nicely poised and quite classic.

Sugli scenografici rilievi collinari di Gaiole, Riecine possiede vigne bellissime, che poche
altre aziende del Chianti Classico possono vantare. Da qui nascono non a caso i rossi forse
più completi e longevi di tutta la denominazione. Venerabili bottiglie de La Gioia e del
Chianti Classico degli anni 80 sono ancora oggi vitali e straordinariamente espressive.
English : On the wonderful hills of Gaiole, Riecine has beautiful vineyards, that few other
wineries of Chianti Classico can boast. Perhaps this gives the richest and most ageing
potential reds of all denomination. Venerable bottles of La Gioia and Chianti Classico of the
80’s are definitely still alive and extraordinarily expressive.

fruit. Transparent, elegant weight and youthful sweet raspberry palate with finely chiselled

berries punctuated with whiffs of leather and balsamic herbs. The palate delivers a core of

Incredibile come un vino di una annata calda e difficoltosa riesca a proporre una fisionomia
così raffinata: è evidente che l'altitudine dei vigneti, attorno ai 400 metri, unita alla mano di
Sean e al terroir di Riecine danno qualcosa in più. Non coloratissimo ma di notevole
brillantezza, da scuola di sangiovese ai profumi (viola), fresco e voluminoso e
contemporaneamente dolce nel tannino al palato. Grande ritmo e grande scioltezza. Il
meglio di un Chianti Classico giovane: fragrante e territoriale, ma di beva straordinaria. 18 €

The 2011 Chianti Classico shows laid-back lines and easy-drinking characteristics. What it
lacks in complexity, it makes up for with fresh simplicity. Wild berry and underbrush are the
primary aromas. Sweet cherry fruit appears on the compact close. Anticipated maturity:
2013-2016. Riecine delivers classic expressions of Sangiovese.

A wine with fresh fruit and chocolate, berry and juicy character. Lovely undertones
of sliced orange. Long. Intense. (April 5th, 2013)
“This 100% Sangiovese hails from the organically farmed 30 hectare Riecine estate located
Gaiole in Chianti. Here the rocky quartz and clay soils, farmed meticulously by hand, yield
fruit with intensity and depth. Reicine also implements some biodynamic treatments and
believes in slow, natural yeast fermentation; this enhances Sangiovese’s natural spicy red
fruit aromas and flavors and distinctive earthy character. For the Classico, a portion of the
fruit ferments in small open vat lots with the balance in stainless steel, followed by aging for
twelve to eighteen months in barrel. This is a lovely, medium-bodied Chianti with spicy red
cherry and black plum aromas and flavors accented by cedar and earth spices.
It’s got just the right balance of fruit and tannin to pair well with a variety of foods. For a
classic Tuscan pairing, try it with pappardelle with boar ragu! ”

sample is fresher. Vibrant cherry fruit with great crunch on the finish. Cannot entirely shake
off the impression of the oxidative note, but still delicious. (WS)

MdM - Dark, purple red with almost garnet red hue. Quite classic style with aromas of dried
figs and mild spices. On the palate almost balmy character, medium weight and rather good

Se nel vino precedente si sentiva il varietale del sangiovese in modo didattico, qui a
prevalere è il territorio: il floreale è attorniato dalla nota di pasta di mandorle tipica della
zona. Lievemente più corposo al palato, ma con un tannino appena ruvido. A detta di Sean
si tratta di un vino lievemente inferiore al 2011, a mio modesto parere quello che questo
2010 perde in finezza lo acquista in grinta. Eccellente.
