ROBERTO CACCIAPAGLIA – Fact Sheet 1974 “SONANZE” – The first album by Roberto Cacciapaglia, released by Rolf Ulrich Kaiser, German record executive from “OHR”. Thanks to this work, Cacciapaglia got in touch with German groups such as POPOL VUH, TANGERINE DREAM, WALLENSTEIN, DIETER DARKS, published by the same record company. 1978 “SEI NOTE IN LOGICA” – for voices, orchestra and computer performed by the Ensemble Garbarino and released by Philips. In that same period Cacciapaglia’s works were performed in several different venues as, for example, at Università Statale (State University) in Milan with Popol Vhu. 1975 “PER UN USO CREATIVO DEL NUOVO SUONO” – performed in the Basilica in Piazza Vetra, Milan. 1976 “I TESTIMONI” – performed at the “Festival di Re Nudo” Parco Lambro with the display on stage of Ugo Guarino’s sculptures created from some pieces of furniture from the dismantled Psychiatric Asylum in Trieste. 1977 “OUTLINES” – performed by Antonio Ballista and Alide Maria Salvetta, at the “Festival Pianistico di Brescia e Bergamo”. 1978 “AZIONE MUSICALE SOTTO UNA LENTE D’INGRANDIMENTO” – for mimes and instrumental group, “Out Off” in Milan, Anti-psychiatry International Convention in Paris. Following that he experienced the languages of musical communication (rock and pop) as a producer for artists such as: Ann Steel (1979), Gianna Nannini (1981), Giuni Russo (1983), Ivan Cattaneo (1983), Alice (1985), just to name a few. 1986 “RICONCILIAZIONE” – for piano and instruments, premiered at the Conservatory in Milan. 1986 “GENERAZIONI DEL CIELO” – two acts opera released by Ricordi and recorded on Dischi Fonit Cetra. It was performed for the first time at the Teatro Metastasio in Prato (1986). Other performances: Church of San Nazzaro della Costa Monastery in Novara, Festival “Musica Instrumentum Coeli”(1999), Lingotto – Salone della Musica in Turin (2000). 1988 “TRANSARMONICA” – for voices and instrumental group. Festival “Aterforum” in Ferrara – where Cacciapaglia’s ensamble also performed “In C” with Terry Riley. In the same year “TRANSARMONICA” was performed at the Festival “Due Dimensioni” in Parma. In 1992 it opened the Festival di Villa Arconati in Castellazzo di Bollate in the opening night entirely dedicated to Cacciapaglia’s works. 1986 “LAMENTAZIONI DI GEREMIA” – for countertenor and organ. The work was performed at the Tel Aviv International Festival, “Festival Due Dimensioni” in Parma, “Cabaret Voltaire” in Turin, Basilica di Santo Stefano in Bologna (2001). 1988 “AUREA CARMINA” based on a text by Pythagoras, for baritone, child singer , choir and orchestra, written on assignment from the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome where it was performed in the same year. 1989 “IL SEGRETO DELL’ ALBA” – ballet-pantomime in two parts commissioned by the Teatro Comunale in Bologna where it was then performed. 1990 “UN GIORNO X” – video opera for voices, orchestra and electronic instruments commissioned by “Musica del Nostro Tempo” and performed at the Conservatory in Milan with Gianna Nannini and the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali. 1991 “LE MILLE E UNA NOTTE” – musical fairytale written for the Puppet Company “Carlo Colla & Figli” performed at the “Berliner Festspiele” in Berlin and “Festival di Spoleto” (1998). 1991 “SINTONIA” – for string orchestra performed by the Orquesta Sinfonica Municipal de Campinas in Brazil. 1991 “DIALOGHI CON NESSUNO” – theatre play directed by Silvano Piccardi starring Ottavia Piccolo. 1992 “ANGELUS ROCK” – for voices and instrumental group released by Polydor and premiered at the IV Edizione del Premio “Città di Recanati” (1993). 1996 “ODISSEO, IL SENSO DELL’ ALBA” – for piano solo, commissioned by the XVI Festival del Teatro Italiano “Riviera d’Ulisse”. 1996 “TRA CIELO E TERRA” – released by CGD, with the co-operation of Franco Battiato and performed in concert at the Teatro Olimpico in Rome (1997). 1997 “MAI PER ATZAR” – theatre play directed by Valerio Ferrari, “Passatge de la Pau” in Barcelona. 1997 “DISSOLUZIONE DELLA ARIA” – for piano solo. The work was first performed at the “Teatro Baraccano” in Bologna, then at the Rassegna “Genius Loci”, Chiostro del Bramante, Rome (2001), European Music Day in Rome (2002), “La Milanesiana” organized by Elisabetta Sgarbi and Milan Province (2002), Festival di Verucchio, Rassegna “Musica e Dintorni”(2002) Monte di Pietà, Messina. 2000 “ANIMALS” – commissioned by “Cantiere Internazionale di Montepulciano”, performed by Elio from Elio e le Storie Tese and directed by Enrique Mazzola. 2001 “ARCANA” – released by BMG Ricordi and premiered in 2000 at the Festival “Il Violino e la Selce” in Fano directed by Franco Battiato. The work was also peformed at the “Galleria Sozzani” in Milano (2001) in an event-concert for the launch of the CD, “Pegaso d’Oro” in Acireale, “Made in Bo” in Bologna, Festival “Esperimenta” in Alberobello. 2003 “TEMPUS FUGIT” – for piano, voice, cello and elettronics. Released by BMG Ricordi, previewed at the Festival “Sconfinando” Sarzana (2002), Chiesa dei SS. Gervaso e Protaso Trezzo sull’Adda, Basilica di San Lorenzo in Milan during the festival “Musica nei Cieli”(2003). 2003 “APPELLO ALLE NAZIONI” – with Gianna Nannini, Chiesa di San Carlo al Corso - Milan. 2003 “SALMO 4 – PREGHIERA DELLA SERA” – for soprano and piano, Duomo in Milan for the festival “Salmi”. “ESERCIZI PREPARATORI PER LA MODIFICA DEGLI EVENTI” – for piano, with Derek Walcott, Nobel Prize Winner for Literature, Teatro Dal Verme, “La Milanesiana” (Milan). “DIAGONAL MAR” – Palazzo Isinbardi, “La Milanesiana” (Milan). 2003 “ROCK ANGELS” – for the exhibition by Roberto Masotti, Rassegna “Limite” Arco di Trento. 2004 “MENTE RADIOSA” – for piano solo, performed in the presence of the Nobel Prize Winner for Medicine Rita Levi Montalcini at the Milanesiana “Palazzo Isinbardi” (Milan). 2005 “INCONTRI CON L’ANIMA” – CD released by Deltadischi, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Giardino di Boboli in Florence, Castello of Lecce where Cacciapaglia performed a selection of tracks from the CD (2006) . 2005 “AD VITAM” – performed at the Triennale in Milan in memory of Pierpaolo Pasolini. 2007 “TRA BUIO E LUCE” – elements of style with Giovanni Sollima Teatro Dal Verme “La Milanesiana” (Milan). 2007 “QUARTO TEMPO” – CD recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and released by Universal Music in September 2007. The CD officially premiered at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan and in trio at the Auditorium in Milan in May 2008. “CANONE DEGLI SPAZI” – CD recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and released by Universal Music in January 2009. “TEN DIRECTIONS” – CD published by Glance and distributed by Sony Music, in May 2010. New chapter of the trilogy recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, performed in concert on May 17th at the Auditorium in Milan and on the 18th at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. 2010 "NOTE DI MERITO" – As a guest, Roberto Cacciapaglia performs on the piano some pieces from his repertoire with the Sinfonietta of Roma conducted by Maestro Luca Bonvino, in the Cavea del Parco della Musica in the occasion of an event in aid of Sla patients. To the event took part Franco Battiato, Alice, Carmen Consoli and many other artists. 2011 "LIVE FROM MILAN" – Live DVD of the concert for the presentation of "Quarto Tempo", performed at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan with Milano Classica Orchestra in September 2007. The DVD contains excerpts from the premiere of "Ten Directions", performed at the Auditorium in Milan in May 2010. 2013 "ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK FROM THE MOTION PICTURE 11 SEPTEMBER 1683" – Musical score from the Movie “11 September 1683” by Renzo Martinelli, which opened in April 2013. “ALPHABET” – The new CD released by Decca – Universal Music in January 2014 and presented during an event-concert at the Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace) in Milan.
