Six 100’ episodes produced by Endemol Italia for Rai Fiction
from February 19th on RaiUno
We said goodbye to the Baudino family at the end of the third series,
when they were on their way to Barcelona. Camilla (Veronica Pivetti)
decided to join her husband Renzo (Enzo Decaro), who had been offered a
great job opportunity in Spain. But something didn’t work out: a lot of
things have really changed in the life of the Professor.
This is the
beginning of the fourth series of “Provaci ancora Prof!”, the successful
television fiction starring Veronica Pivetti, produced by Endemol Italia
for Rai Fiction, based on the novels by Margherita Oggero (published by
Mondadori). The series, in six 100-minute episodes, will be broadcast by
RaiUno during the prime-time slot from February 19th. The screenplay
is by Dido Castelli and the movie is directed by Tiziana Aristarco.
In addition to the historical cast made up by Veronica Pivetti, Enzo
Decaro, Ilaria Occhini, Pino Ammendola, Claudio Bigagli and
Ludovica Gargari, there are many new entries in this series. First and
foremost there’s Cesare Bocci, in the role of the charming Marco Visconti,
who will sweep Camilla off her feet. Then there’s Flavio Montrucchio
who will be performing as the new Police Chief substituting Chief Gaetano
Berardi. Sarah Maestri and Franco Oppini play the parts of two new
teachers in Camilla’s high school; while Alice Bellagamba and Lorenzo
De Angelis are two new police officers.
There’s a perfect balance between comedy and mystery, between
love stories and drama in every episode. The fourth series describes events

in the life of Camilla Baudino, who is a Literature professor, an “accidental
detective” and a mother.
But especially Camilla as a woman who is
experiencing a new stage in her life. We will watch her in this new and
unprecedented role, namely that of a single woman who has been separated
from her husband Renzo for the past two years. She’s at peace with
herself; always remaining a vital, ironic and determined woman. She copes
with her teaching, the cases she comes upon and her daughter Livietta; but
she hasn’t closed the door to emotions and love. And although on one hand
her ex-husband is still a constant presence in her life, on the other there’s a
charming and mysterious wine producer who will win over her heart.
Two years have gone by since Camilla’s (Veronica Pivetti) return to
Rome together with her daughter Livietta (Ludovica Gargari), who is
about to become an adolescent, and their inseparable pet dog named Potti.
Upon their return from Barcelona, Camilla has taken up teaching in her
former high school; but, contrary to her professional life, her private life
has been subjected to an abrupt change in direction. In fact, she has
separated from her husband Renzo (Enzo Decaro) who now has a new
Spanish partner named Carmen (Carmen Tejedera) and they both have
just moved to Rome. The relationship between Renzo and Camilla is now
a peaceful and affectionate one. Everyone, including Livietta, seems to
have understood and accepted their separation. Everyone, that is, except
Andreina (Ilaria Occhini) who refuses to forgive her son-in-law. Renzo’s
arrival also coincides with Camilla’s return to her past “passion”: that is
solving complicated crimes in which she is accidentally involved. But this
time the fascinating Police Chief Gaetano Berardi (Paolo Conticini) is no
longer at her side since he’s been promoted to Superintendent in another
city, where he is now living with his new wife. He has been substituted by
Paolo De Matteis (Flavio Montrucchio), a meticulous and headstrong
thirty-five-year-old who hardly tolerates the Professor’s intrusion into his
investigations. Nevertheless, Camilla doesn’t give up her detective streak;

so, more than once, she clashes with De Matteis and his presumptuous
ways. The only one left from the former police squad is Inspector Torre
(Pino Ammendola), who shares Camilla’s dislike for the new police chief.
Officer Marchese (Lorenzo De Angelis), one of the Professor’s former
students, and Officer Grassetti (Alice Bellagamba), a young police
woman, are two new members of the squad.
But the turn of events in Camilla’s life do not only regard the murder
cases she is involved in, sometimes beyond her own will. An obviously
charming man in his fifties, who produces fine wines, bursts into her
everyday life – bringing along a breath of fresh air and liveliness. Marco
(Cesare Bocci) is a man with a great personality; he’s a free spirit who has
become successful by following his personal passions. He soon makes an
impression upon Camilla, who can hardly believe that he’s the younger
brother of the despised police chief.
A few things have also changed at school. While the strict Principal
Mazzeo (Claudio Bigagli) is always at his post, although now single and
obsessed with a manic care for his plants, Professor Anna Scarpa (Sarah
Maestri) is the new Science teacher. She’s a shy and awkward woman
who fears the initial impact with her students.
Another new entry is
Professor Sanfilippo (Franco Oppini), an old-fashioned teacher who’s
about to retire.
Margherita Oggero and Dido Castelli have written the stories for
“Provaci ancora prof 4”. The screenplays are written by Dido Castelli,
Anna Samueli, Cecilia Calvi, Giovanna Gra, Valentina Capecci and
Francesca Panzarella.

Leading Characters
CAMILLA BAUDINO (Veronica Pivetti)
Camilla’s life has changed a lot over the past few years.
She and her husband have separated but, nonetheless, she
never loses heart and never abandons her “old habits”.
She teaches Literature and continues to work with her
usual passion, establishing a relationship of trust and
truthfulness with her students. She continues to be a
profoundly curious woman who is very careful about
everything that goes on around her; she faces and solves the cases she is
accidentally involved in by blending her keen wit and a certain degree of
recklessness. But this time Police Chief Berardi will not longer be at her
side to back her up.
RENZO FERRERO (Enzo Decaro)
An architect and great art connoisseur. Following
some working experience in Spain, which has
changed his life, he returns to Rome – but he’s not
alone. In fact, he is in the company of his new
Spanish partner named Carmen. Despite this relationship,
Renzo still manages to maintain good relations with both Camilla and with
his daughter Livietta. But he unexpectedly finds himself at times having to
deal with his old jealousy, which had afflicted him in the past, towards
Camilla.

LIVIETTA, the daughter of Camilla and Renzo

Livietta is on the threshold of adolescence. She is going
through a rather delicate stage in her life: on one hand
she’s still a child, but on the other she begins to feel
the sort of restlessness that is intrinsic to her age. She’s
come to terms with the fact that her parents have split up and begins to
experience her first innocent crushes.
ANDREINA, Camilla’s mother (Ilaria Occhini)
Andreina is a middle-class woman who has always taken care
of her home and her family. After Camilla’s father died, she
married her second husband Amedeo and moved into the
apartment below her daughter’s. She has never forgiven her sonin-law Renzo’s “betrayal” and wants her daughter to get her revenge in any
way she can. A loving and trustworthy grandmother, she has a very lively
and entertaining relationship with her granddaughter Livietta.
CARMEN ROCAS, Renzo’s new partner (Carmen
Tejedera)
A thirty-five-year-old pleasant and dynamic Spanish
woman. She works as an architect, along with Renzo.
She holds him in great esteem and admiration. She left
her entrepreneur husband in order to be with Renzo. She is very seductive;
on the workplace she is more ambitious and unscrupulous than Renzo. She
likes the social life and this seems to be a problem for Renzo.

MARCO VISCONTI DE MATTEIS, (Cesare Bocci)
Marco is nearly fifty years old and he is obviously a charming fellow.
He’s a free spirit with a lot of travelling and relationships behind
him. He is divorced from his American wife and has a fourteenyear-old son (Tom). He exports fine wines and this activity, almost
despite himself, has provided him with a lot of money and success.
Following his divorce from his wife, with whom he is still on good terms,
he has never been involved in important relationships. He is the elder
brother of the new Police Chief: and their personalities are completely
opposite.

A malicious busybody who’s affectionate deep down.
She bears the brunt of Camilla’s irony.
Police Station
PAOLO DE MATTEIS, the new Police Chief (Flavio Montrucchio)
He’s an anxious and slightly stingy thirty-five-year-old. He always
wears a suit and tie and, despite his young age and the fact that he’s
handsome to boot, he seems to be older and much less charming
than what he could be. His being hardly inclined towards humour
and irony certainly does not help. But his real handicap is the fact
that he’s timid; Paolo tries to hide it behind his rough and authoritarian manner, but
this only goes to making him often seem arrogant and presumptuous. He
can’t stand it when the Professor interferes with his investigations.

TORRE, police inspector (Pino Ammendola)
He’s the only one left from the old police squad.
He’s engaged (or so he says) to an aging ItalianAmerican heiress.
That’s why he’s studying
English. He hates his new boss and turns a blind eye to Camilla’s
“interference”.
OFFICER MARCHESE, police officer (Lorenzo De Angelis)
He’s a former student of Camilla’s, a computer expert and gives the
Professor some inside information from the Police Station. Officer
Marchese’s weak spot is his fanciful ambition of becoming a writer.
He writes stories, novels and poems but with mediocre results.
Camilla helps him out with his “works” in exchange for confidential details about
ongoing investigations.
OFFICER VALENTINA GRASSETTI, police officer
(Alice Bellagamba)
Attractive, dynamic and a sports buff. Approximately
twenty-five years old. Valentina and Marchese have
completely different personalities. She is outgoing and boasts
of being a “female Don Juan”. But all of her self-confidence comes to a
standstill when she comes face-to-face with Police Chief De Matteis, who
she is secretly in love with.

PRINCIPAL MAZZEO, Principal of Camilla’s school
(Claudio Bigagli)
An irreproachable, strict and authoritarian principal both with
students and teachers alike. After a disappointing love affair,
he has lost all trust in mankind, especially in women, and has taken
up refuge in the vegetable world. Plants have become his sole companions.
He cares for them, strokes them, talks to them. The principal’s office has
been turned into a sort of botanical garden and no one should ever dare
touch his precious plants!
PROFESSOR ANNA SCARPA, (Sarah Maestri)
She’s a Science teacher and Camilla’s new “friendconfidante-colleague”.
She’s young, shy and a
blunderer. This is her first assignment and she’s afraid
of the impact with her students and with Principal
Mazzeo. Camilla likes her right from the start and
helps her out just like an older sister would. Despite her
“fragile nature”, Anna practices a sport that sheds a different light on what
has been previously described: boxing. And she turns into a tiger when
she steps onto the ring!
PROFESSOR ALDO SANFILIPPO, (Franco
Oppini)
He is the typical old-fashioned teacher who’s
about to retire.
Conjunctive
He’s been nicknamed “the
Crusader”
since
he
always
interrupts people (even his colleagues or the Principal) when he
feels they haven’t used the conjunctive in the right way. His colleagues

and students make fun of him for this obsession of his. Camilla is the only
one who takes sides with him.
ROBY MARCHINI, student (Daniele La Leggia)
He’s a handsome boy, with a sturdy build, but is
confined to a wheelchair after a car accident that took
place three years earlier. Following a period of anguish
and bewilderment, he comes to terms with his loss and
gains his peace of mind. He’s ironic and self-ironic,
even regarding his accident, but can fly off the handle
when he has to face architectural barriers that his wheelchair cannot
overcome. He has a good relationship with the whole class, but especially
with Sabrina, his classmate who sits right next to him.
SABRINA
CARBONE,
student
(Ilaria
Serrato)
Pretty but not strikingly beautiful. She has a hard time
with all
the subjects, but manages to pass thanks to Roby’s help. Half of the time
she lives with her mother and her new husband, while she spends the other
half with her father and his new family. She’s in love with Sandro Guarini,
the best-looking boy in the class.
SANDRO GUARINI, student (Stefano Masciolini)
Most of the girls in class have fallen for this “tall, dark and
handsome” guy. But despite all of this interest, Sandro
always feels inadequate and hides his uncertainties behind

a pose of worldliness that bothers Camilla, until she understands that it’s
simply a clumsy attempt at protecting himself.
KATIA URSINO, student (Anna Gumpel)
She’s a slow-witted and nasty girl.
She dreams of
becoming “a star” and perhaps she will succeed since
she is lacking neither the recklessness nor the guts to
do so.
She spreads disaccord between her classmates
just for the fun of feeling better than the rest.
…and Camilla’s faithful dog, POTTI
Potti is happy, playful and affectionate although he’s
sometimes mischievous and somewhat jealous. He’s the
one who Camilla usually confides her secrets to.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES
Veronica Pivetti and I met a few years ago.
We shot a summer movie during the winter months…
and I
immediately understood who I was dealing with.
An actress willing to perform with flimsy clothes on, out in the cold,
who I forced to hold some ice in her mouth (to avoid her breath fogging up)
until the clapperboard was used.
She never complained, was always ready and able:
a true
professional.
I always thought it would have been nice to work with her and this
finally came true with "Provaci ancora prof 4".
The great new storyline, compared to the previous series, allowed me
to give my own personal flair to the product without betraying its essence.
It was difficult for me to find the right balance between comedy and
a detective story, between the emotions and tones that sometimes reached a
feverish pitch during the cases investigated in each episode.
I believe we’ve been successful and I speak in the plural since a
movie only works (and in this case there are six of them…) when a certain
kind of synergy is created amongst the workgroup.
I’ve upheld a constant, rational and constructive relationship with the
producer and the screenplay writers – this confrontation has allowed me to
give the series the style that I wanted.

I’ve worked together with the Director of Photography, Gino Sgrava;
the Costume Designer, Valter Azzini, the screenplay writers Tommaso
Bortone and Stefania Maggio (all of whom made their debut with this
series) to give the product a tender and romantic feel, once again by
renewing but never by betraying the story.
In these notes I cannot neglect mentioning what a pleasure it was
working with Enzo Decaro, who proved to part of the life and soul of this
series thanks to his kindness and irony.
But its entire historical cast, namely Ludovica Gargari, Pino
Ammendola, Lorenzo de Angelis..... have confirmed their proven
professional harmony while blending with the important new entries,
namely Cesare Bocci, Flavio Montrucchio and Carmen Tejedera.
A special word goes to the great musician Pino Donaggio, who I
finally had the opportunity to work with.
More than one year of work, so many memories, a lot of laughs, so
much effort… and now, hopefully, a lot of satisfaction in return!

FIRST EPISODE
After having spent two years in Spain,
Professor Camilla Baudino returns to Rome with
her daughter Livia and their dog named Potti. Her husband Renzo has
stayed behind in Barcelona with his new partner, Carmen.
The Professor returns to her old life:
teaching at school, the
conflicting relationship with her mother who lives in her same building,
family life with Livietta who’s growing up and is experiencing her first
adolescent upheavals.
To keep Livietta from suffering the burden of her separation, Camilla
tries her best to be on good terms with Renzo and also with his girlfriend
Carmen.
Camilla has decided that she doesn’t want to have anything else to do
with investigations, police officers and police chiefs; that’s also due to the
fact that the charming Police Chief Berardi has been transferred up north
and he’s even gotten married.
Then Camilla’s life takes an unexpected twist. What seemed to be a
strange road accident right in front of her school leads the Professor into
investigating a case that involves one of her students.
This happens while Renzo is returning from Barcelona and is
“stationed” in an apartment hotel that’s not exactly downtown.

During her investigations, Camilla meets with the new Police Chief
Paolo De Matteis. He doesn’t seem to be a friendly person and right from
the start he demonstrates obvious hostility towards the Professor.
Professor Baudino is secretly assisted in her investigations by Police
Officer Torre (who is not fond of the new Police Chief) and by Police
Officer Marchese (a former student of hers who has become a policeman
and harbours an insane passion for writing).
The whole school gets involved in the case and this seriously
endangers Principal Mazzeo as well; in addition to dealing with school
discipline, lately he has also been giving lots of tender loving care to the
plants he’s growing in the principal’s office.
Then there’s two other important events in Camilla Baudino’s life.
Right after Renzo’s return to Rome, he is joined by Carmen who seems to
have a strong influence over Livietta. But the most important twist to
Camilla’s life is when she meets a man while coming out of the police
station. His name is Marco… he’s charming, mysterious and (overcoming
her hesitations) she decides to see him again.
SECOND EPISODE
Camilla Baudino accompanies Roby (her student confined to a
wheelchair) to his therapist, but there’s a tragic surprise in store for them.
An unknown sniper shoots from the top of a building and wounds
Camilla (luckily nothing serious), while another shot kills the psychologist.

There’s no apparent reason behind the ambush. So much so that
Police Chief De Matteis believes that the real target of the ambush might
have been Professor Baudino herself.
During her hospital stay, Camilla is pleasantly surprised when she is
delivered a bunch of flowers.
This unleashes Livietta’s curiosity and
Renzo’s jealousy. The flowers have been sent from New York, where
Marco has flown for business.
Police investigations into the ambush are getting nowhere, while
Camilla looks into a trail that leads her to discover that some weapons have
been stolen from a gun shop.
Renzo and Carmen, his new Spanish partner, have left the apartment
hotel and have moved into an apartment close to Camilla’s school. This
increases the chances of the former couple meeting and clashing with each
other, leading Renzo himself into meeting the mysterious Marco who in the
meantime has invited Camilla to his country estate. In fact, Marco produces
and markets some fine wine. Camilla is very impressed by his beautiful
farmhouse and by his passion for opera music. But the biggest surprise is
when Camilla comes out of the Marco’s bathroom and bumps right into
Police Chief De Matteis. Yes, that’s right, Marco and Paolo are brothers –
although they seem to be completely the opposite.
Camilla is not sure whether she wants a new boyfriend or not and she
confides this to her daughter. But deep down she is attracted to Marco.
Camilla gets into big trouble while trying to solve the case where she
was an accidental victim, but she manages to pull through also thanks to
Police intervention. She subsequently lets herself go and kisses Marco

right in front of school. Renzo has witnessed the whole scene and has quite
a hard time hiding his jealousy from Carmen.
THIRD EPISODE
Andreina (Camilla’s mother) is anxious to meet Marco and hopes he
might be a good catch for her daughter. Andreina has never hidden the fact
that she’s not very fond of Renzo and, since his return to Rome with
another woman (Carmen), she does all she can to keep him away from
Camilla.
On the contrary, Professor Baudino unexpectedly finds herself
involved in a difficult investigation along with Renzo, in an attempt to
exonerate Carmen from being accused of killing her ex-husband (a Spanish
antique dealer) during a private rendezvous in a Roman hotel. Everything
seems to point at Carmen. Thanks to a series of inspections that lead
Renzo into venturing into the world of high-class escorts while
experiencing very embarrassing situations, Camilla manages to help
Renzo’s new partner by discovering who actually murdered the man.
Renzo, literally worn out by the whole situation, demonstrates all his
affection and gratitude towards Camilla. Police Chief Paolo De Matteis is
more and more hostile towards the Professor for once again intruding into
his investigations; he gives vent to all of his frustration by also lashing out
at his close collaborators. The cause of all this resistance is not only of a
professional nature. In fact, Paolo De Matteis does not look kindly upon
the fact that Camilla is more and more at his brother Marco’s side.
In the meantime, young Livietta experiences her first love woes
caused by a classmate and announces that she never wants to have anything

to do with boys again. Camilla and Marco are getting closer; so much so
that when the Professor finds herself in his house for the first time, she
realizes that she’s acting like one of her students on a first date. Camilla,
fascinated by one of Marco’s surprises, makes up a story and tells the
Principal that she won’t be in school. Then she skips classes and runs off
with him towards the seaside, to spend a memorable day together.
FOURTH EPISODE
Camilla has to solve the difficult situation with Livietta. The girl is
more and more emotionally involved with her first crush and gets
suspended from school because she slapped one of her classmates twice.
Even the situation at Camilla’s workplace is sort of agitated. In fact
Anna, a shy and inexperienced colleague of Camilla’s, is involved in the
murder of the janitor working in the gym she goes to. The man, who was
better known as The Pharaoh due to his passion for Egypt, never gave up
the chance to molest the women who went to the gym and even Anna had
just been subjected to an attempted rape on his part. Police Chief De
Matteis is conducting the investigations that involve Camilla herself, who
is only responsible for having accompanied her colleague to the gym and
wanting to help her out by piecing together all the stages of the crime.
Livietta’s troubles inevitably lead Renzo and Camilla to see each
other more often, while some problems subsequently arise between Renzo
and Carmen. Renzo prefers to spend time with the family rather than
having to attend all the social and cultural events proposed by his new
girlfriend.

In the meanwhile Camilla tries to resist Marco’s obvious charm and
all of his attention, since he is set on turning their relationship into a more
stable one.
Amidst the afternoon tea served to the parents of the girl slapped
about by her daughter in her attempt to make up with them, the continuous
help she gives Anna in her fragile state, Camilla also has to help another
colleague (namely the bookish Sanfilippo) who has been attacked by one of
the students in front of the Principal. But most of Camilla’s attention is
concentrated on the Pharaoh murder case, where a young man with drug
problems is suspected of being responsible for the crime. Thanks to the
help of Officer Marchese, Camilla manages to corner him and solve the
case.
Marco won’t give up and it seems that Camilla is about to surrender
to his charm.
FIFTH EPISODE
An alarming telephone call from Professor Sanfilippo interrupts a
peaceful moment between Camilla and Marco as they happily stroll about
the park.
Sanfilippo asks for help since he’s locked himself up in Sofia’s
bathroom, a girl he’s tutoring, but she doesn’t seem to hear him.
Unfortunately, when Camilla and Marco reach Sanfilippo to help
him out, they find Sofia’s lifeless body lying on the floor. After being
questioned by the Police, Camilla convinces Aldo Sanfilippo to find Sofia’s
boyfriend Mirko who works in a megastore.

During the autopsy, they discover that Sofia was pregnant.
In the meantime Professor Baudino’s class goes completely wild
because jealousy has unleashed a fight between Sabrina, Roby and his best
friend Sandro.
A certain kind of jealousy can also be sensed in Renzo’s behaviour
during Livietta’s birthday lunch; Marco and his son Tom have also been
invited to the party. Although she is fascinated by Tom, Livietta does her
best to underline all the happy times she’s spent with her parents; while
Andreina, Camilla’s mother openly takes sides with Marco.
Camilla is with Marco when she finds out that Mirko has been killed
in what seems like a road accident, but is actually a macabre and tragic
sham.
In fact, while following the trail of Sonia’s favourite book, Camilla
discovers that the girl was involved with an older man who was very
dangerous. So she manages to lead the police to the place where a sect of
hot-headed fanatics is planning to commit some crimes.
Carmen realizes that her relationship with Renzo is changing; but
although Renzo hasn’t completely left her life or her home, Camilla
considers their relationship over and done with.
And while Camilla and Marco toast to an evening without any
children, ex husbands or annoying brothers around – Marco unexpectedly
gives her an engagement ring.

SIXTH EPISODE
Andreina is certainly the person most enthusiastic about Camilla and
Marco getting engaged and she admires the ring her daughter is flaunting.
Even Livietta is wearing a new bracelet with a small heart-shaped charm
that has been given to her by Diego, the schoolmate she’s got a crush on.
Everything seems to be going in the right direction for the women in the
Baudino family when Camilla, who’s always late, nearly runs over Irina (a
young Moldavian girl) and ends up giving her a lift. But another car
squeezes her to the side of the road and forces her to stop. In a matter of a
moment, gunshot fire kills Irina.
Camilla explains what happened to a disbelieving Police Chief De
Matteis, the brother of her new fiancé Marco, and she is overcome by guilt
feelings. Both Marco and Renzo are at her side as they try to cheer her up,
each one of them doing his best to be sweeter and kinder than the other.
Marco tries to help Camilla out by speaking to his brother. He tells
him about their engagement and especially about the fact that Camilla has
decided to move in with him on their family’s country estate. Police Chief
De Matteis doesn’t seem to be happy at all about the news.
Carmen is overjoyed because one of her projects has been chosen by
an important architecture studio in the United States. It’s an opportunity
for her to move to New York along with Renzo, who immediately wonders
about Livia’s reaction to this news.
Marco accidentally accompanies Camilla during her investigations
into Irina’s murder case, but Renzo is the one who has to save his ex-wife
from a dangerous situation. That’s the inevitable chance for Renzo and
Camilla to talk over their future with evident intimacy and affection.

After being dead set against their move to Marco’s country home,
Livietta changes her mind and demonstrates all her enthusiasm when she
discovers that even Diego will be moving close to her new home.
Renzo still hasn’t made up his mind whether he wants to move to
New York with Carmen or not. The woman senses that the reasons behind
his doubts are not only of a business nature.
Camilla helps the police in solving Irina’s murder case; for the first
time, Police Chief De Matteis gives her credit for a job well done and
demonstrates a certain degree of pleasantness.
Moving day has finally arrived. The house is nearly empty, the truck
has been loaded with the furniture and it’s ready to leave followed by
Marco and Camilla in the car… when Renzo shows up on the scene…

Born in Portici (Na) on 24 March 1958. Classical studies and a degree in Modern
Literature at the Federico II° University of Naples. Lecturer in Creative Writing at the
Faculty of Communication Sciences, University of Salerno. Professional experience as a
writer and actor in the theatre, television and motion-pictures.
Following early experiences on stage, Decaro was a founding member of the
comedy trio called “La Smorfia” together with Lello Arena and Massimo Troisi. His
television debut took place in 1977 with the RaiUno show called “Non Stop” (awarded a
Maschera D’Argento prize), followed by “La sberla” (1978), “Luna Park” (1979)
“Effetto smorfia” (1980), “Bum Bum all'italiana” (1982) and “Come quando fuori piove”
(1984). Again for the television screen, he has performed in television movies such as:
“Quando ancora non c'erano i Beatles” (1988) directed by Marcello Aliprandi; “Gioco
perverso” (1992) by Italo Moscati; “Il grande fuoco” (1994) directed by Fabrizio Costa;

and “Costanza” (1997) by Gianluigi Calderone. In 1998 he had the leading role in a
television series broadcast by Rai Uno, entitled “Una donna per amico”, that was one of
the most successful serial fiction movies.
In the field of motion-pictures, he has carried out intense activities as a director (he
directed “Prima che sia troppo presto” (1982) which was granted the Terne, Nastri
D’Argento and David di Donatello awards; “Io Peter Pan” (1989), which won the Cicae
Awards for European Cinema; and “Ladri di futuro” (1990)). In his role as actor, he
played in “Scirocco”, (1986) directed by Aldo Lado; “Fiori di zucca” (1988) by Stefano
Pomicia; “L'amore molesto” (aka “Nasty Love”, 1994), directed by Mario Martone;
“Vrindavan Film Studios” (1995) by Lamberto Lambertini; “Le mani forti” (aka “Mains
fortes”, 1996) by Franco Bernini; and “Fiabe metropolitane” (aka “Metropolitan Fairy
Tales”, 1997) directed by Egidio Eronico. He wrote the story and screenplay for “Il
quarto Re” (1997) directed by S.Reali (1997) and “Amore con la esse maiuscola” (2001)
directed by P. Falcone.
He set off upon a new television adventure in 1999, with the programme called
“Navigator”; then a television movie for the RaiDue channel entitled “Il Cardinale” and
the television series “Tutti gli uomini sono uguali”, directed by A. Capone. He
performed in two more television fiction movies for RaiUno in 2000: “Una donna per
amico 2” and “Tutto in quella notte” directed by M. Spano. Then in 2002 he played in
the following television fiction movies: “Mozart è un assassino”, “Lo zio d’America”
directed by Rossella Izzo, “Padri” by R. Donna and “Ultimo Rigore di S.Martino”.
In 2003 he worked on the set of “Madre Teresa” (aka “Mother Teresa”, directed by
Fabrizio Costa) and for the RaiUno television serials entitled “Orgoglio 1” and
“Orgoglio 2” (directed by G. Serafini and V. De Sisti).
In 2004 he was once again on the television screen with “Noi” (directed by P.
Exacoustos) and “Questo è amore” (by L. Manfredi).

In 2005 he played the role of Veronica Pivett’s “adorable” husband in the
television fiction called “Provaci ancora prof”; then Police Chief Rinaldi in “La
Provinciale”, directed by P. Pozzessere; while during the second series of “L’ultimo
rigore 2” directed by S.Martino, he once again played the part of a coach dealing with
the “behind the scenes” events (not always crystal-clear) involved in the world of soccer.
He made his comeback in 2006 with the second series of “Provaci ancora Prof 2”.
In 2007 Decaro performed in two fiction movies, where he played strong roles that
had a great impact on the public: “Era mio fratello” (directed by C. Bonivento) and “La
terza verità” (by S. Reali) that were awarded excellent ratings.
Decaro performed in “Provaci ancora Prof 3” in 2008 and the television film
entitled “Una Madre” (directed by Massimo Spano). He performed alongside Sophia
Loren in 2010 in the television movie “La mia casa è piena di specchi”, directed by
Vittorio Sindoni.
In 2011 he took part in Massimo Ranieri’s project for RaiUno that envisaged
staging the plays by Eduardo De Filippo on the television screen. In fact, he performed
in “Napoli Milionaria” and “Questi Fantasmi”. Directed by Fabrizio Costa, he had a
leading role in “La vita che corre” that was a television movie touching on a social topic
for the RaiUno channel.
He is presently working on two sets: another Eduardo De Filippo play for RaiUno
entitled “Sabato, Domenica e Lunedì”, again directed by Massimo Ranieri; and
“Applausi e sputi”, directed by Ricky Tognazzi.
In 1997 he directed the opera “Il Trovatore”, produced by the Ascoli Piceno City
Theatre. He has also taken part in some d’auteur short movies such as “No smoking
company”, directed by Edo Tagliavini that was awarded the 2007 Golden Globe Foreign
Press prize.

He was the narrator for “La natura dell’amore” from “De rerum natura” by
Lucretius with the New Project Jazz Orchestra (2007). He also performed as narrator in
“Henrik Ibsen e altre storie, dalle nebbie lungo una galleria verso il sole”

(the bioenergetic analysis of A. Lowen) and “Il mio tao chi” (the Tai Chi of Al Huang).

CESARE BOCCI
A versatile actor working in both the theatre and motion pictures, Cesare Bocci has
also affirmed himself with his roles in important television serials. For the silver screen,
he performed in he film entitled “A tutte le volanti” (1989), directed by R. Guerrieri.
The following year he was part of the cast for S. Soldini’s “L’aria serena dell’ovest” (aka
“The Peaceful Air of the West”).
Then in 1993 came “L’ultimo desiderio di un
condannato a nozze” directed by G. Piccioni and “De Generazione” by Manetti Bros.
That same year he performed a leading role in E. Valgiusti’s “Aquero”.

Between 1995 and 1998 Bocci performed in “A forma di cuore” directed by M.
Speroni and “Nella mischia” by G. Zanasi. In 2000 he was part of the cast in D.
Damiani’s “Faccia d’angelo”; then in 2001 he had a role in “Princesa” by E. Goldman
and in “Almost blue”, a thriller directed by A. Infascelli. In 2003 he played in “Il servo
ungherese” (aka “The Hungarian Servant”) by M. Piesco and G. Molteni. The following
year Bocci went from “Comunque mia” by S. Paravicini, to “Io che amo solo Te”

donne” and “Un medico in famiglia”. But he received the greatest acclaim from the
general public thanks to “Elisa di Rivombrosa”, directed by C. Th. Torrini, where he
performed as Dr. Antonio Ceppi; in addition to his performance as Mimì Augello, the
deputy police chief in “Il commissario Montalbano”.
In 2008 he was one of the leading characters in the RaiDue production of the
television fiction called “Terapia d’urgenza”, where he performed as the head surgeon
named Sergio Danieli. In 2009, directed by Christian Duguay, Bocci played the part of
Romaniano in the television movie “Sant'Agostino”, produced by Lux Vide; then in
2010 he was Cardinal Montini, alongside James Cromwell, in the television movie

“Sotto il cielo di Roma”; and in 2011 had the leading role in the documentary-fiction
movie for the Retequattro channel entitled “L’ombra del Diavolo”.
For the theatre, Bocci performed in “Un mostro qualunque” directed by L. Malà,
“Hamlet” directed by A. Lorenzoni, “La putain au grand coeur” by R. Reim and “Perseo
e Andromeda” directed by G. Ferraiola.
He performed in “Il fratello maggiore”, “Cintocinquanta la gallina canta” and “La
cortigiana”, all of which were directed by G. Lombardo Radice. His collaboration with
La Compagnia della Rancia began with the early productions such as “I dialoghi delle
carmelitane”, “Post Scriptum, il tuo gatto è morto”; then he was directed by Saverio
Marconi in “La stanza del delitto”, “La famiglia dell’antiquario” and “Arlecchino
innamorato”. Bocci performed as Prince Charming in Marconi’s first original musical
entitled “Cenerentola” (“Cinderella”, 1988) and in the first edition of the successful
musical called “La piccola bottega degli orrori” (“Little Shop of Horrors”) as Orin the
mad dentist, during the 1988/89 and 1989/90 seasons. Together with Lorella Cuccarini,
he had a leading role during the 2005/2006 season in the musical entitled “Sweet
Charity”, produced by La Compagnia della Rancia.
In 2009, together with Daniela Scarlatti, Bocci performed in “Parole d'amore”: a
recital of poems and love letters from the year 200 to 2000. In 2010, together with
Giampiero Ingrassia and Giovanni Vettorazzo, he performed in Angelo Longoni’s
comedy “Testimoni”. In 2011 he made his debut in the “La cage aux folles” musical as
Renato, co-starring with Massimo Ghini, directed by Massimo Romeo Piparo.
Cesare Bocci has always been involved in social work: he is a spokesperson for
ANFFAS (an association of families of the handicapped); he is an active supporter of the
ROCK NO WAR association and has participated in many of their events; and plays in
the “Rappresentativa italiana Attori” soccer team, which raises money for charity
campaigns.
