Dal 1978….
Più di trent’anni fa i fratelli Comunello fondarono CACAO spinti dalla necessità del
periodo di avere un marchio di riferimento per l’abbigliame ale dedicato esclusivamente ai bambini.
Subito il successo è stato raggiunto grazie alle innovazioni tecniche e alla fantasia dei
capi che immediatamente hanno colpito i gusti e le esigenze di mamme e bambini. Dal
2003 il timone dell’azienda è passato alla Famiglia Danieli che, forte di una tradizione
sportiva di lungo periodo, ha saputo contribuire al consolidamento del marchio CACAO
sui mercati italiani ed esteri. Anche per questa stagione ‘11/’12 quindi, l’azienda ha
sostenuto un grosso impegno per rinnovare e modernizzare tutta la collezione sci,
soprattutto per quanto riguarda le vestibilità, la scelta di nuovi materiali e colori e gli
accessori.

gear for children. The success was reached thanks to the innovative features and
design of our products which met immediately the mothers’ demand and kids’ taste.
Since 2003 the Company was took over by the Danieli family who contributed to consolidate the Cacao brand in the international market thanks to their long experience
in the sporting goods business. Also for this fall/winter 2010/2011 season the
Company kept up a big effort to update the ski collection particularry concerning fits,
new fabrics and accessories.

IDROREPELLENZA
Un tessuto è idrorepellente quando è trattato con specifici prodotti, i quali fanno sì che l’acqua si disponga
sulla superficie in forma di goccioline, il più possibile perfettamente rotonde, che possono così scivolar
via facilmente senza essere assorbite.
WATER-REPELLENCY
A fabric is water-repellent when it is treated with specific chemicals which cause the water to slide away
easily without being absorbed
IMPERMEABILITA’
I valori di impermeabilità vengono normalmente misurati utilizzando un apparato che misura l’ “hydrostatic head” (test ISO 811), cioè la massima pressione che un tessuto può sostenere prima che l’acqua
penetri all’interno. Il risultato è espresso in millimetri, dove la pressione di 1KG/cmq equivale circa a
10.000 mm. E’ un dato importante nelle attività outdoor e sulla neve: basti pensare a quando ci si siede
o ci si inginocchia. Per l’industria e l’esercito, ad esempio, lo standard è di 10.000 mm, mentre per uno
sciatore turistico valori da 1.000 mm a 3.000 mm offrono un’ottima performance.
WATERPROOF PERFORMANCE
Waterproof performance is normally tested using apparatus measuring “hydrostatic head” under test
ISO811. This measures the maximum pressure a fabric will withstand before water comes through and
beads on the inside of the fabric. The results are expressed in millimeters and psi (pound per square inch).
It’s relevant in the outdoors to pressure points when kneeling or sitting for example. Military standards
are 10.000mm, while a standard from 1.000 to 3.000mm is a good performance for an amateur skier.
TRASPIRABILITA’
La traspirabilità viene misurata dando un valore alla cosiddetta “Moisture Vapour Trasmission”, nota
anche con la sigla MVT. La metodologia di misurazione più accreditata è la “Evaporative Dish Methods”,
dove il campione di tessuto viene posto al di sopra di un contenitore di acqua distillata in evaporazione;
la perdita di peso dell’acqua in un determinato periodo rappresenta la MVT. Tale valore normalmente è
espresso in “grammi per mq nelle 24 ore (gr/m2/24h) e quindi più alto è questo valore più il tessuto
è traspirabile.
BREATHABILITY
Breathability is tested using the MVT (Moisture Vapour Transmission): the test consist in putting the fabric on a container of boiling distilled water, the loss of weight of the water in a given time represent the
MVT which is measured in grams per square meter in 24 hours (gr/m2/24h). Higher are the grams,
more breathable is the fabric.
