Working processes
Description
Jacket in dark blue wool satin. An (upper) hip-skimming funnel shape. Lavish lapel collar with single-button closure at waist,
kimono style sleeve snug in the wrist.
Skirt in heavy silk herringbone-weave jacquard with regular black&white striping. Slim tubular line, knee length. A balloon
effect thanks to two deeply pleated and folded back panels sewn onto the skirt at waistband level.
Bustier in dark blue wool satin. Vertical strapless cut, waist length.
Remarks
Here the defining factor is the dynamic quality of forms, as if blown by a sudden gust of wind: the skirt hugs the body in
back, mimics a ripple effect in front. The sense of opulence comes from a simple intuition: namely, doubling up the panels
and playing with pleats to give volume to a flat geometric shape.
