Orestis Mavroudis 2010 - 2013
My work includes a variety of media mostly including video and photography. The research of the relations,
the limits and the interchange of this media often makes videos as photographs in movement and photographs
as video frames.
A second research level is about the potential of the title to function as an equivalent to the object of art.
The title attempts to determine the way to approach each work, limiting in a sense the context.
My whole work is characterized by a romanticism of the simplicity, the obvious and the impossible whereas
the element of irony, both in observing things as well as yourself, is of major importance.
Il mio lavoro include una varietà di mezzi, tra cui principalmente video e fotografie. La ricerca delle
relazioni e dei limiti di questi mezzi spesso fa sembrare i video fotografie in movimento e le fotografie
still da video.
Un altro livello della mia ricerca riguarda le potenzialità del titolo di avere la stessa importanza dell’oggetto
artistico. Il titolo tenta di determinare il modo di approccciare ogni opera, limitando in un certo senso il
contesto.
Tutto il mio lavoro è caratterizzato da un romanticismo della semplicità, dell’ovvietà e dell’impossibile,
mentre l’ironia, nel vedere le cose e nel vedere se stesso, è infine di essenziale importanza.

An obvious reasoning for the meaning of the impermanent,
written on a floating board. The relationship between
the float and the surrounding nature attempts to make the
message more intensive.
Un ovvio ragionamento sul senso della provvisorietà
scritto su un cartello galleggiante. Il rapporto tra
il galleggiante e la natura tende a rendere
il messaggio più intenso.

height of the space by a few centimetres forcing
a piece of the ceiling tiles to remain open.
Un ferro quadro in equilibrio verticale supera
per pochi centimentri l’altezza dello spazio
obbligando un pezzo del controsoffitto a
rimanere aperto.
