LA STORIA
La GAI nacque nel 1946 a Pinerolo (TO) per opera di Giacomo Gai con l’aiuto della moglie Elsa.
Nel 1959 la sede fu trasferita a Trofarello (TO).
Dal 1972 l’azienda è condotta dai figli del fondatore, Battista ed ing. Carlo coadiuvati dalle mogli Adriana e Renata.
Nel 1985 tutta l’attività è stata trasferita nella nuova sede di Ceresole d’Alba (CN).
Da qualche anno è iniziata la collaborazione in azienda del dr. Giacomo (figlio di Battista e Adriana) e degli ingegneri
Guglielmo e Giovanni (figli di Carlo e Renata).

collaboratori e che l’insegnamento più importante sia l’esempio che i collaboratori più esperti danno ai più giovani.

THE HISTORY
GAI was founded in 1946 in Pinerolo (TO) by Giacomo Gai, together with his wife Elsa.
In 1959 the company moved to Trofarello (TO).
Since 1972 the business has been run by the founder’s sons, Battista and Ing. Carlo, assisted by their wives,
Adriana and Renata.
In 1985, the entire company was transferred to its new location in Ceresole d’Alba (CN).
For some years now since graduating, Dr. Giacomo (the son of Battista and Adriana) and Ing. Guglielmo and
Ing. Giovanni (the sons of Carlo and Renata) have also been involved in the business.

LA FILOSOFIA
L’obiettivo della GAI è quello di offrire macchine semplici nell’uso, di buona qualità, ad un giusto prezzo.
Uno studio durato decenni ci permette oggi di risolvere l’imbottigliamento con due monoblocchi:
• uno per sciacquare – deaerare – riempire – tappare o capsulare la bottiglia
• l’altro per lavare – asciugare – capsulare ed etichettare.
L’uso generalizzato dell’acciaio inossidabile assicura la facilità di manutenzione, della pulizia e della durata
delle macchine.
L’alta modularità delle soluzioni ci consente di realizzare oltre il 90% dei componenti all’interno dell’azienda
su macchine ad altissima tecnologia con vantaggi per qualità, costo e reperibilità dei ricambi.

THE PHILOSOPHY
GAI aims to offer simple-to-use, quality machinery at the right price.
Research lasting decades has enabled us to provide bottling solutions with two monoblocs:
• one for rinsing – de-aerating – filling – corking or capping bottles
• the other for washing – drying – capsuling and labelling.
The generalized use of stainless steel ensures easy cleaning and maintenance, as well as durability.
High modularity means that over 90% of the components can be produced within the company on state-of-theart machinery, providing benefits in terms of quality, cost and parts availability.

LA SEDE
La sede sorge a Ceresole d’alba (CN) in Frazione Cappelli al n° 33.
Pur essendo in aperta campagna, si trova a soli 7,5 Km dal casello di Carmagnola, all’inizio dell’autostrada
Torino-Savona.
Attraverso la tangenziale di Torino è quindi collegata alla rete autostradale italiana.
La superficie coperta è di circa 25.000 m2, le strade ed i piazzali sono di circa 35.000 m2 e l’area verde misura
circa 82.000 m2; l’area impegnata è pertanto di 142.000 m2.
La disponibilità di spazio ci ha consentito di creare un ambiente gradevole con ampi parcheggi, un centro
sportivo aziendale ed un’area verde con un laghetto che raccoglie acqua piovana.

THE HEADQUARTERS
The company’s headquarters are located at no. 33 Frazione Cappelli, in an outlying district of the village of
Ceresole d’Alba (CN).
They stand in open countryside, just 7.5 kms from the Carmagnola exit off the Turin-Savona motorway, linking
the factory to the entire Italian motorway network via the ring road around Turin.
The buildings extend over approx. 25,000 m, and there are around 35,000 m of roadways and service areas, and
82,000 m of open land, forming a total site area of 142,000 m.
The availability of space has made it possible to create an attractive setting, with large parking areas, a company
sports centre, and grounds with a lake collecting rainwater.

La GAI ha recentemente fatto ingenti investimenti in magazzini automatici. Lo scopo è di aumentare l’efficienza dell’azienda e, soprattutto, conoscere puntualmente la situazione dello stock.

GAI has recently invested heavily in automating its warehouse systems with a view to increasing the company’s
efficiency, and above-all being fully-informed at all times of its stock situation.

GAI FRANCE
La GAI France è nata nel 1984 per dare piena soddisfazione all’importante mercato francese.
La sede è a Le Luc (Var), in località Les Prés d’Audière, sulla RN7 a pochi chilometri dal casello autostradale
della A8 che da Nizza va a Marsiglia.
La nostra idea è che un buon prodotto debba essere supportato da un buon servizio; per questo l’organico della
GAI France è formato in prevalenza da tecnici e da tecnico-commerciali.
La GAI France ha una rete capillare di distributori regionali costantemente aggiornati, per poter essi stessi
consigliare ed istruire i propri Clienti. La GAI France si occupa inoltre dei mercati esteri di lingua e cultura
francese. Un ampio magazzino ricambi ed una competenza puntualmente aggiornata, permettono alla GAI
France di dare piena soddisfazione ai propri Clienti.

GAI FRANCE
GAI France was set up in 1984 to cater for the important French market. Its headquarters are located at Les
Prés d’Audière in Le Luc (Var), on the RN7 just a few kilometers from the A8 motorway between Nice and
Marseilles.
Our idea is that a good product must be backed up by good service, which is why the staff at GAI France are
mainly technicians and sales engineers.
GAI France has a vast network of regional distributors, who are constantly updated so they can advise and
train their own customers.
GAI France also handles the French-speaking export markets.
A large parts store and regularly updated skills mean that GAI France is able to meet all the requirements of its
clientele.

Nel 1979 la GAIpresentò a Milano, su una importante esposizione, il primo monoblocco con
riempitrice a 12 rubinetti e tappatore monotesta.
Oggi (2007) i monoblocchi GAI installati nel
mondo sono più di 10000.
La soluzione “monoblocco” si è imposta per la
sua razionalità.
I monoblocchi GAI hanno prevalso per la loro
affidabilità e per l’alto rapporto qualità/prezzo.
In 1979 at an important show in Milan, GAI
presented the first monobloc with a 12-spout
filler and single-head corker. Today (2007) more
than 10,000 GAI monoblocs are installed
worldwide.
The success of the “monobloc” solution can be
attributed to its rationality, and GAI monoblocs
have prevailed on account of their reliability and
excellent value-for-money.

dalla bottiglia con una pompa ad alto vuoto,
quindi la riempiono di gas inerte prima di andare alla riempitrice.
Lo scopo è di ridurre l’ossidazione del vino in
fase di imbottigliamento.
The monoblocs in this family remove the air
from bottles using a high vacuum pump, and then
inject them with inert gas before they are filled.
The aim is to reduce oxidation in wine during
bottling.

Nel 1987 la GAI presentò un monoblocco
con le seguenti operazioni:

Anche questa idea ebbe successo ed oggi
questa è la gamma più richiesta della GAI.
In 1987 GAI introduced a monobloc which
carried out the following operations:

Per le termoretraibili si prevede 1 testa (fino a 3.000 bottiglie/
ora), 3 teste, 4 teste, 8 teste fino a 10.000 bottiglie/ora.
Per le capsule in polilaminato o stagno 1 testa (fino a 1.200
bottiglie/ora), 3 teste, 6 teste, 8 teste, 12 teste fino a 10.000
bottiglie/ora.
Tutte le macchine proposte comprendono il distributore delle
capsule poiché siamo convinti che la soluzione “monoblocco”
sia sicuramente vantaggiosa.
GAI’s labelling division offers a wide range of capsulers for
heat shrink, polylaminate and foil capsules.
The heat shrink capsulers feature machines with 1 head (up to
3,000 bottles/hour), 3, 4, and 8 heads (up to 10,000 bottles/
hour).
For polylaminate and aluminium foil capsules, machines are
available with 1 head (up to 1,200 bottles/hour), 3, 6, 8 or 12
heads (up to 10,000 bottles/hour).
All the machines include the capsule dispenser, as we are
convinced of the advantages provided by the monobloc solution.

Nel 2003 la MEB Labelling è entrata a far parte del
Gruppo GAI.
Con questa acquisizione abbiamo aggiunto l’esperienza
di una ditta che opera nel campo della etichettatura dal
1969 ed in particolare della etichettatura autoadesiva dal
1989.
Unendo la qualità costruttiva della GAI all’esperienza specifica della MEB è nata una nuova gamma di monoblocchi
per il confezionamento del vino di qualità.
In 2003, MEB Labelling became part of the GAI Group
of companies.
With this acquisition, we added the experience of a
company which has been operating in the field of labeling
since 1969, and in particular in self-adhesive labels since
1989.
The combination of GAI’s construction quality and MEB’s
specific expertise has produced a new range of monoblocs
for the packaging of quality wines.

rende l’uso della macchina semplice ed intuitivo.
The distinguishing feature of this family of
monoblocs is the number of capsuling heads: the

In uno spazio assai ridotto si hanno: lavaggio, asciugatura della bottiglia, distribuzione della capsula, termoretrazione o lisciatura della
stessa, etichettatura autoadesiva fino a 3 etichette.
Anche in questo caso i vantaggi indiscussi quali economia di spazio,
sincronismo, facilità d’uso e di installazione sono stati prontamente
riconosciuti dalla clientela.
Vista la modularità delle nostre torrette si possono
realizzare soluzioni “su misura” per il cliente oltre
a quelle citate nelle tabelle sottostanti.
