Dear Michael,
I am writing to ask you if you’d like to come to Britain this summer. My
aunt and uncle live near Glastonbury in Somersetwhere where every year there
is a big music festival which lasts three days. They don’t like it because about
eight thousand people go (in fact it’s the biggest pop festival in Britain) so this
year they are going on a trip to Scotland for that week. They don’t want to
leave their house empty, so I and my friends are going to look after it for
them. Would you like to come with us? We are going to stay in a youth hostel
in London on the 21st of June.
By the way, remember that to stay in a youth hostel you must have a
Youth Hostel Card – you can’t stay in a hostel without one! On the 22nd or the
23rd we are going by train and by bus to the village where my aunt lives.
There’s a good train at 10:15 a.m. It takes about four hours from London.
Luckily the bus stop isn’t far from the house – only about one mile which we
will have to walk. I’m not sure who is playing at the festival this year, but
last year Sting, Oasis and Bon Jovi were there. So you must come! Let me know
as soon as possible because you have to book both the festival and the youth
hostel in advance.
Well, I hope to see you in June. My parents send their regards.
