MARY, THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD / MARIA SANTISSIMA MADRE DI DIO MARY, THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD / A Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God ~ our Lady’s greatest title. This feast is the octave of Christmas. In the modern Roman calendar, only Christmas and Easter enjoy the privilege of an octave. Mary, the all-holy ever-virgin Mother of God, is the masterwork of the mission of the Son and the Spirit in the fullness of time. For the first time in the plan of salvation and because his Spirit had prepared her, the Father found the dwelling place where his Son and his Spirit could dwell among men. In this sense the Church's tradition has often read the most beautiful texts on wisdom in relation to Mary. Mary is acclaimed and represented in the liturgy as the “Seat of Wisdom.” May God have pity on us and bless us; may He let His face shine upon us. So may your way be known upon earth; among all nations, your salvation. FROM THE PARISH OFFICE The Parish office will be CLOSED ALL DAY on: Monday, January 2nd and will re-open on Tuesday, January 3rd. JANUARY 1, 2017 situazione nell'espressione "terza guerra mondiale a pezzi". Saturday, Dec. 31st ~ Seventh Day Within the Octave of the Nativity MARIA SANTISSIMA MADRE DI DIO / A Sunday, Jan. 1st ~ Mary, The Holy Mother of God Nell’ottava del Natale si celebra la festa di «Maria Santissima madre di Dio». +Joanna Downey, req. by Monica Donovan 5:00 p.m. +John Zimmer, req. by his Mother +Beryl Monaghan, req. by Paul Monaghan 8:30 a.m. +Andrew Tay, req. by Therese Tay and Family +Florlinda Hernandez, req. by her Daughter 9:30 a.m. +Santo Visconti, req. by Antonietta Visconti and Family +Antonio Ammirato, req. by the Family +Salvatore Biagini, req. by the Family +Guglielmo Mazarese, req. by the Parish 11:00 a.m. For all the souls in Purgatory, req. by the Calo Family +Sister Susan Moran, req. by the Parish Monday, Jan. 2nd ~ St. Basil the Great & St. Gregory Nazianzen 12:00 p.m. +Sister Susan Moran, req. by the Parish Community Tuesday, Jan. 3rd ~ The Most Holy Name of Jesus 12:00 p.m. +Maria & Giovanni Naccarato, req. by Joe Naccarato Wednesday, Jan. 4th 12:00 p.m. +Maria & Giovanni Naccarato, req. by Joe Naccarato 7:00 p.m. Novena Mass – Our Lady of Perpetual Help Thursday, Jan. 5th 12:00 p.m. +Michael & Josephine Del Grande, req. by Lucia Del Grande Friday, Jan. 6th 12:00 p.m. +Luisa Berti, req. by Angelo and the Family +Angelo & Antonio Cornacchia, req. by Gilda Cornacchia Saturday, Jan. 7th ~ St. André Bessette 9:00 a.m. +Antonio Ruggiero, req. by Lucy & Rocco Colangelo 5:00 p.m. +Jacqueline Le Blanc, req. by the Family ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE HOLY FATHER'S INTENTIONS FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2017 Evangelization: That all Christians may be faithful to the Lord’s teaching by striving with prayer and fraternal charity to restore ecclesial communion and by collaborating to meet the challenges facing humanity.
