MARY, THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD / MARIA SANTISSIMA MADRE DI DIO
MARY, THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD / A
Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Mary,
Mother of God ~ our Lady’s greatest title. This feast is the
octave of Christmas. In the modern Roman calendar, only
Christmas and Easter enjoy the privilege of an octave.
Mary, the all-holy ever-virgin Mother of God, is the
masterwork of the mission of the Son and the Spirit in the
fullness of time. For the first time in the plan of salvation
and because his Spirit had prepared her, the Father found
the dwelling place where his Son and his Spirit could dwell
among men. In this sense the Church's tradition has often
read the most beautiful texts on wisdom in relation to Mary.
Mary is acclaimed and represented in the liturgy as the
“Seat of Wisdom.”
May God have pity on us and bless us; may He let His
face shine upon us. So may your way be known upon
earth; among all nations, your salvation.
FROM THE PARISH OFFICE

WORLD DAY OF PEACE: JANURAY 1st, 2017
Pope Francis has called on Christians around the globe to
embrace Jesus’ teachings on nonviolence, saying in his
yearly World Day of Peace message that while many
countries are experiencing conflict that “violence is not the
cure for our broken world.” Pope Francis' message for the
World Day of Peace, which was dated on December 8th,
will be officially sent out on January 1st, the Catholic feast
day for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.

WORLD DAY OF MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES
The 103rd World Day of Migrants and Refugees will be
celebrated on Sunday, January 15, 2017. The theme
chosen by Pope Francis is “Minor migrants, vulnerable
and voiceless.” As Christians, we are called to reach out
to and pray for all migrants to emphasize the unity of the
human family and the values of acceptance, hospitality and
love of neighbour. The theme of this year’s Day is precisely
an effort to draw attention to the needs of those who are
most vulnerable. As is customary, Pope Francis will publish
a Pontifical Message to mark the occasion.

situazione nell'espressione "terza guerra mondiale a pezzi".

Saturday, Dec. 31st ~ Seventh Day Within the Octave of the Nativity
MARIA SANTISSIMA MADRE DI DIO / A
Sunday, Jan. 1st ~ Mary, The Holy Mother of God
Madre: Maria è totalmente Madre perché è stata in totale
50a GIORNATA MONDIALE DELLA PACE
