Cast on 5 new sts with white yarn to the side facing the apron (= work in St st for seam allowance). Work patt II over rem sts until edge measures approx. 29 – 35 – 36 – 39 cm/11.4-13.8-14.2-15.4 in. End with a complete square. Take care that the edge doesn’t turn out too long. Bind off 5 St sts, and slip rem 8 sts on holder. Work same for the other edge. Finishing: Dampen pieces slightly from WS. Sew 2 smallest zig zag seams over the purl-sts. Cut open between seams. Sew normal zig zag over cut edges. Inc 1 st both sides of the marker approx. every 2 – 2 – 1½ – 1 ½ – 1 ½ – 1 ½ cm/0.8-0.8-0.60.6-0.6-0.6 in until there is 49 – 53 – 61 – 67 – 73 – 79 sts on a rnd, and sleeve measures approx. 16 – 18 – 20 – 22 – 24 – 27 cm/6.3-7.1-7.9-8.7-9.4-10.6 in. Turn work inside out, and work 5 rnds in St st with basic clr for seam allowance. Bind off. Finishing : Dampen work slightly from WS. Sew 2 smallest zigzag seams around armholes (measure width from sleeves). Cut open between seams. Sew normal zigzag over cut edges. Neck band, front : Sew a marker thread for front neck edge, approx. 3 – 3 – 4 – 4 – 5 – 5 cm/1.2-1.2-1.6-1.6-2-2 in below upper edge. Using needles size 2½ mm and white yarn, pick or knit up approx. 41 – 43 – 47 – 49 – 55 – 57 sts along marked line ( check that patt is same both sides of neck edge ). Slip shoulder sts from holders on needles. Place markers between neck edge and shoulder sts. Beg from left shoulder, work 1 row in St st, and then in K1,P1 rib. Inc same time 1 st both sides of the markers every 2nd row. When rib measures approx. 1 cm/ in, make 2 buttonholes over each shoulder (Buttonhole: Bind off 3 sts. Next row: Cast on 3 sts over the bound-off ones). Make first and last buttonhole 2 – 2 – 3 – 3 – 4 – 4 sts inside the edges, and the others close to the neck edge. Cont working until rib measures approx. 2 cm/0.8 in. Bind off in rib. Sew 2smallest zigzag seams inside neck band. Cut off all extras. Sew normal zigzag over cut edges. Using needles size 3 mm and white yarn, knit or pick up approx. 41 – 43 – 47 – 49 – 55 – 57 sts along marked line from WS, and work 5 rows in St st for seam allowance. Bind off. Sew seam allowance over cut edge. Place front rib over back rib, and sew on sleeves. Lower edge band : Beg from back, using needles size 2½ mm and white yarn, knit or pick up approx. 160 – 168 – 176 – 184 – 192 – 200 sts along lower edge. Place markers both sides of caston sts, front and back. Work 1 row in St st, and ten in K1,P1 rib. Inc same time 1 st both sides of each marker every 2nd row. After approx. 1cm/ in, make 2 buttonholes on front over 3 sts, with 5 – 5 – 7 – 7 – 9 – 9 sts between buttonholes ( Buttonhole: Bind off 3 sts. Next row: Cast on 3 sts over the bound-off sts). When rib measures approx. 2 cm/0.8 in, bind off in rib.
