SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
 Make sure that the towbar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the
installation.
 For safety, all work involving towbar installation (incl. electrical components) must
be undertaken
by skilled technicians.
 Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer’s spares and fitted by
qualified staff.
 It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to towing assembly.
 The towball must be kept clean and lubrificated. For added safety, his diameter
(50 mm) must be checked at regular intervals. If the towball measures less than
49 mm after selected readings across the
diameter, the towball must be
replaced with a new one.
 After 1000 km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance
with the table.

ATTENTION: For series 3 335i and 335d order kit 06026/3
Remove the mastic protection from your vehicle in the point where the chassis and the
tow bar are connected; then paint the mastic free pieces with the anti rust paint. There
are all necessary holes to fix the tow bar.
Remove the light clusters, and then remove the bumper;
Remove the exhaust-pipe from the reinforcement bar pushing the rubber support;
Remove the reinforcement bar from the rear part of the vehicle;
FOR VERSION 335i and 335D ONLY: remove the two supports of the silencer
from the reinforcement bar and then remove also the central support of the
bumper.
5. Make a little cut of the plastic lower cover under the bumper, as shown in the
enclosed layout;
6. Place the cross bar “A” to the rear wall referring to original screws “1”,
superimposing on the reinforcement bar and fix all the parts with original nuts;
FOR VERSION 320I ONLY: in case the central silencer support interferes the t
owbar, bend it a little bit to the engine;
7. Tighten all bolts and nuts as shown in the enclosed layout;
8. Connect the wiring to the socket following the car booklet's instructions "use and
maintenance" of the vehicle as shown in the enclosed wiring kit layout;
9. Make a little cut on the lower part of the rear bumper, as shown in the enclosed
layout;
10. Put back the exhaust-pipe, the bumper and the head lights;
11. FOR VERSION 335i and 335D ONLY: fit the Kit 06026/3 referring to holes
“3”, insert the screws and fix them. Put back the exhaust-pipe to the new supports
and then fix the bumper using the screws in position “4”.
