There, he cut a piece of the island, threw it to Polyvotis and buried him under it. That piece of land is Nisyros. Where Polyvotis’ mouth used to be, stands the volcano and the groans from the chest of the Titan are its eruptions and occasional earthquakes. The truth is of course that Nisyros emerged after sub oceanic volcanic eruptions. The island will captivate you from your first visit with its natural beauties and the friendly and warm hospitality of its simple folk that will make you return time and again.
