Biography:
Antonette Goroch is a singer, songwriter, writer and world traveler. A vocalist and
storyteller since the age of 5, she has delved into various musical styles including opera, musicals, rock, classical, country, folk and blues. She began writing and recording
songs in the early nineties, as part of the burgeoning punk-feminist West Coast wave
of riot grrrls, touching off a twenty year love affair with speaking her mind through
music and life on the road. Since then, Antonette has recorded ten CDs, two vinyl records and two cassettes with her bands and as a solo performer. Though she has been
compared to other contemporary indie folk artists such as Neko Case, Penelope Houston and Mazzy Star, Antonette, crafts her own unique sound embodying the themes,
melodies and song structures of traditional folk along with simple punk rock chords, a
relentless DIY aesthetic and the timeless themes of love, hate, greed, betrayal, oppression, revolution and justice.
Antonette has spearheaded an array of diverse projects over the past twenty years,
co-producing several full length recordings as the singer/bassist for the riot grrrl
trio, the Amazon Mollies (I’m With The Band/ 1995 Be Nice, Be Sweet/ 1996, Molly
Rock/1997, Promised Land/1999, Sugar Molly/2000); the singer/guitarist for the folk
rock band, Liesl’s Wet Dress (Shedding Skin/Rodent Records CD 2001, Gingerbread
Aliens/Rodent Records 7” vinyl 2004, Spielen/Rodent Records EP 2005); and the singer/guitarist for the indie folk duet, The Hobbyists (The Hobbyists, CD/Rodent Records
2006). She has released three solo recordings (Pieces of Gravel/Light Rail Records EP
2011, Antonette G/Rodent Records CD 2010, Pretty Pictures/ Rodent Records 7” vinyl
2010), which include collaborations with Billy Talbot (of Neil Young & Crazy Horse)
and Nicolas Dobbratz (Yip Deciever/Of Montreal). Antonette is currently recording new material with the SF-based indie rock trio, Super Natural. Their first EP was
released in May 2014 on the Athens, GA/Oakland, CA label Aerobic International.
Throughout each of these incarnations, Antonette has been recognized for her voice,
melodies and lyrics, described as “a compelling blend of intelligence, innocence and
insight, with a dash of intellectual insanity.”

Depending on venue, performance can be entirely acoustic (no PA or amplification)
Local Support or Headliner: Antonette seeks out and enjoys meeting local musician in her travels, and believe
this connection to the local community can make for a more interesting and well-attended show. If at all possible, Antonette would like to be paired with another local artist/band to either headline or play support (depending on what is appropriate). Please let us know who Antonette will be playing with, and their contact information, so we can reach out to them in advance.
Food: No particular intolerances or allergies. We eat almost anything, so making dinner for us is not a problem--in fact, we enjoy the opportunity to discover local foods while we are touring. A small welcome buffet with
something to eat and drink is a blessing after a day on the road--not necessary but much appreciated!
Accommodation: One double room or two single rooms for Antonette and one crew member. House accommodations are great too (couches are not a problem)! Sheets and towels are always appreciated; please advise if
we should bring our own sleeping bags and/or towels.
Transport: we will arrive by train. A ride from the train station would be much appreciated, but is not necessary.
Please advise on the best way to travel from the train station to the venue (taxi, foot, subway, etc.).

Antonette Goroch è una cantautrice, scrittrice e viaggiatrice. Cantante e storyteller fin
dall’età di 5 anni, si è cimentata in vari generi musicali tra cui l’opera, musical, rock, classica,
country, folk e blues. Ha cominciato a scrivere e registrare canzoni all’inizio degli anni novanta, sulla scia della nascente ondata punk-femminista di riot girls proveniente dalla West
Coast, fino a raggiungere quasi vent’anni di carriera on the road durante i quali ha espresso
la sua visione della vita attraverso la musica.
Dal suo esordio, Antonette ha registrato dieci cd, due dischi in vinile e due musicassette
sia con la sua band che come solista. Nonostante sia stata spesso paragonata ad altre artiste
indie folk contemporanee come Neko Case, Penelope Houston e Mazzy Star, Antonette,
crea un proprio sound unico combinando i temi, le melodie e le strutture della canzone
folk tradizionale assieme a semplici accordi punk rock e ai temi senza tempo dell’amore,
dell’odio, dell’avidità, del tradimento, dell’oppressione, della rivoluzione e della giustizia.

A seconda dell’occasione, possiamo realizzare un live interamente acustico (no PA o amplificazione).
Pubblico locale o headliner: Se possibile, Antonette vorrebbe suonare con un altro artista/band locale o come
headline o come supporto (a seconda di ciò che è opportuno). Vi preghiamo di farci sapere con chi suoneremo e
di farci avere il loro contatto in modo da poterli contattare in anticipo.
Cibo: Nessuna particolare intolleranza o allergia. Mangiamo praticamente tutto – anzi, ci piace cogliere
l’opportunità di scoprire e assaggiare prodotti locali mentre siamo in tour. Non necessario, ma molto apprezzato
dopo una giornata di strada è un piccolo buffet di benvenuto con qualcosa da mangiare e da bere.
Alloggio: una camera matrimoniale o due camere singole per Antonette + fonico. Essere ospitati in casa è sempre ben accetto (il divano non è un problema)! Gli asciugamani e le lenzuola sono sempre apprezzati; per favore,
fateci sapere se dobbiamo portare i nostri sacchi a pelo e/o asciugamani.
Trasporti: arriveremo in treno. Il trasporto in auto dalla stazione ferroviaria è sempre molto apprezzato, ma
non è necessario. Per favore, dateci indicazioni sul modo migliore per raggiungere il locale dalla stazione (taxi, a
piedi, Metro, ecc.).
