o Russia with Love... from Italy… To paraphrase the great Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond. This is how the lovely Indigo, the
new superyacht delivered in July by Sanlorenzo to a Russian owner, came into being. She is the eighth yacht in the SL104 series and is
designed to showcase the very pinnacle of Italian styling and craftsmanship. Although her exterior lines are once again the work of architect Francesco Paszkowski, Indigo’s décor was created in-house by
Sanlorenzo’s own interior design department. The latter was engaged
in a constant dialogue with the owner and his family, who travelled all

Italy, parafrasando il titolo del celebre film
della serie 007 con James Bond. Ecco come
è nato Indigo, il nuovo superyacht consegnato lo
scorso luglio dal cantiere Sanlorenzo a un armatore
russo. Ottavo esemplare della serie SL104, Indigo
rappresenta infatti un vero concentrato di stile e di
artigianalità italiana. Mentre le sue linee esterne sono
ancora una volta opera dell’architetto Francesco
Paszkowski, gli interni sono invece scaturiti dall’ufficio

the way from Moscow on several occasions to visit the yard and tour
the leading Milanese furnishing showrooms to ensure that everything
aboard was just right. This methodical approach has resulted in very
cosy welcoming spaces that exude a sober elegance. Italian style is very
much admired in Russia and creative links between the nations have
existed for centuries, dating all the way back to the late 18th and early
19th centuries when architects such as Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli,
Giacomo Antonio Quarenghi and Carlo Domenico Rossi were responsible for designing and building some of Saint Petersburg’s most stunning
buildings, not least the Hermitage itself.
Indigo, however, also continues Sanlorenzo’s own tradition of creating
completely bespoke yachts for its clients. In her particular case, although
the styling is clearly Italian, there is also a touch of the international to
certain aspects of the décor. In the vast saloon on the main deck there’s a
large L-shaped Ray sofa designed by Antonio Citterio for B&B, flanked by
a Marquise armchair created by Piero Lissoni for Living Divani. Between
them is the Loto low table designed once again by Antonio Citterio for
Maxalto, while the American walnut parquet is topped with a Harvest
patchwork rug made by Stepevi of Istanbul that features age-old Ana-

d’interior design di Sanlorenzo, che ha saputo
instaurare un dialogo continuo con l’armatore,
venuto diverse volte da Mosca con la famiglia per
visitare il cantiere e per compiere, insieme ai tecnici
che hanno seguito il progetto, un ampio tour negli
showroom milanesi delle principali aziende italiane
d’arredamento. Il risultato si è infine concretizzato
in scelte che hanno creato a bordo ambienti
accoglienti, all’insegna di una sobria eleganza. In
questo modo è stato pure sfatato il luogo comune
che vuole gli armatori russi sostenitori di uno stile a
volte troppo ridondante: secondo i progettisti del
cantiere, infatti, è stato sufficiente trovare il giusto
feeling e proporre il meglio del made in Italy, che
oltretutto ammirano profondamente. Un’ulteriore
conferma, in realtà, di un già consolidato legame
fra la Russia e la creatività italiana: basti pensare
ad architetti del calibro di Francesco Bartolomeo
Rastrelli, Giacomo Antonio Quarenghi o Carlo
Domenico Rossi, che a cavallo tra ’700 e ’800 furono
autori di alcuni dei più importanti edifici di San

tolian motifs. An oval ICS table by Roberto Lazzeroni for Ceccotti takes
centre stage in the dining room and is surrounded by eight Febo chairs
by Maxalto. The whole look is neatly drawn together by an Artemide floor lamp designed by Enzo Mari in 1965. The Itka table lamp designed by
Naoto Fukasawa for Danese Milano, however, takes pride of place on the
open pore American walnut wall unit, which has mirror-finish bronzed
stainless steel doors, a solution that pops up again in the master suite.
The lighting aboard Indigo comes courtesy of LEDs designed to order by
Artemide and set into the gloss lacquered ceilings, while luxurious linen
curtains from the Dominique Kieffer range by Rubelli adorn the windows and
are also used in other spaces aboard.
Forward there is a screen between the
dining and saloon areas. It is made from
wengé-look oak and is a reinterpretation of a design by Dordoni Architetti.
Moving further forward still we come to
the master suite, where the bed is trimmed in supple Nuvola leather by Penelopeoggi and flanked by a wonderfully
comfortable Feel Good swivel armchair

Così come si conferma la tradizione del cantiere
Sanlorenzo nel dare vita a imbarcazioni totalmente su
misura per il cliente e, nel caso di Indigo, nettamente
imperniate sull’Italian style, senza tuttavia rinunciare
a qualche tocco d’internazionalità rilevabile in certi
dettagli d’arredo. Nel vasto salone che si apre sul
main deck spicca un grande divano a L di B&B, il
modello Ray disegnato da Antonio Citterio, affiancato
dalla poltrona Marquise di Living Divani, ideata da
Piero Lissoni. Al centro campeggia un tavolo da
fumo Loto, di Maxalto, che fa parte della Simplice
Collection e che è stato disegnato da Antonio Citterio,
mentre sul parquet a doghe lastronato in noce
canaletto americano si stende il tappeto Harvest,
realizzato a patchwork dalla Stepevi di Istanbul, che
ha ripreso antichi motivi tipici dell’Anatolia. Nella
zona pranzo si trova il tavolo ovale Ics, disegnato
da Roberto Lazzeroni per Ceccotti, circondato da
otto sedie Febo di Maxalto; il tutto è corredato dalla
piantana Luce di Artemide, concepita nel 1965 da
Enzo Mari. La lampada da tavolo Itka di Danese
Milano, opera del giapponese Naoto Fukasawa,
spicca invece sul mobile a murata in noce canaletto

en suite there is a double hand basin in opaque Luna Stone quartz, a
Canaletto walnut unit and Zucchetti fittings. The shower also has a Luna
Stone wall and the floor is in Tobacco Brown marble. In the three guest
staterooms, the beds are once again upholstered in Nuvola leather by
Penelopeoggi, while both the bed and bathroom linens are supplied
by Lintea Mare of Viareggio. Moving down to the lower deck, we come
upon the galley, which has white lacquered units from Boffi’s Xila range
with matt granite worktops and Gaggenau appliances.
With regard to Indigo’s exterior spaces, the fly is generously sized featuring a large al fresco sea terrace with unhindered views of the surrounding water. The dining area has been furnished with a table and chairs
from Royal Botania’s Ninix range and its lounge area has Cove seating by

che ritroveremo anche nella suite armatoriale).
L’illuminazione del megayacht è fornita da Led
realizzati su nostro disegno da Artemide e installati
nel cielino laccato in poliestere lucido, mentre alle
grandi finestrature sono applicate delle preziose
tende in lino di Dominique Kieffer by Rubelli,
utilizzate anche negli altri locali di Indigo.
Per delimitare il salone, a proravia si innalza un divisorio
in rovere color wengé eseguito reinterpretando un
progetto dello studio Dordoni Architetti. Procedendo
ancora in avanti si incontra la suite armatoriale con

il letto, rivestito in pelle Nuvola di Penelopeoggi,
affiancata da una poltroncina rotante Feel Good di
Flexform, munita di pouf. La sala da bagno offre un
doppio lavabo in pietra Luna opaca, un mobile di
noce canaletto rigato, rubinetterie Zucchetti, la doccia
con parete sempre in pietra Luna scavata a canaline e
il pavimento in marmo Tobacco Brown. Anche nelle
tre cabine ospiti i letti sono rivestiti in pelle Nuvola
di Penelopeoggi; la biancheria, sia da camera sia da
bagno, è invece di Lintea Mare di Viareggio.
Scendendo al ponte inferiore, si trova la cucina
arredata con elementi Boffi della linea Xila, laccata di

Paola Lenti. The two sections of the fly are nicely separated by a Boffi K2
galley unit designed by Norbert Wangen which has a sliding top and a
Corian chassis with teak doors. There is another al fresco area at the very
end of the stern on the main deck too. Here guests can lounge to their
hearts’ content on a teak sofa, designed by the yard, and Harp armchairs
designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for Roda which are arranged around a
Network outdoor low table also from Roda.
To sum it all up, Indigo is a brilliantly executed yacht with an effortless
sense of Italian style. A perfect Sanlorenzo, in other words. 106

bianco e con piano in granito nero opaco, corredata
da elettrodomestici di Gaggenau.
Per quanto riguarda gli spazi esterni, l’ampio fly
è delimitato verso poppa da una battagliola in
materiale trasparente che forma una grande terrazza
affacciata sul mare e priva di ostacoli visivi. La zona
pranzo è arredata con tavolo e sedie della linea
Ninix di Royal Botania, mentre nell’area lounge si
trovano le sedute Cove di Paola Lenti. Questi due
ambienti sono suddivisi idealmente dalla cucina Boffi
modello K2 disegnata da Norbert Wangen, dotata
di top scorrevole e con struttura in Corian e ante in
teak. Un’altra area en plein air è stata infine ricavata
all’estrema poppa del ponte principale, arredata con
un divano in teak progettato dal cantiere, poltroncine
Harp di Roda, disegnate da Rodolfo Dordoni, e
tavolo da fumo Network sempre di Roda.
Insomma, un megayacht in perfetto stile italiano. Un
megayacht in perfetto Sanlorenzo style.
