Siena, with his only preserved medieval architecture perfectly it satisfies every lover of the art and whoever

another marvelous work, a gilded cross painted from Sano di Pietro.
SAN AGOSTINO CHURCH
It entertains a lot of works of art of Vanni and Manetti. In the chapel of the century
XV, called the chapel of the Bichis, there are varied frescos of Martin and Signorelli.
The chapel of the Piccolominis brings a fresco of the Lorenzetti instead.
SALIMBENI SQUARE
Three important buildings lean out on Salimbeni square but the
Building Salimbeni it is without doubt the more main point, from the

Open only on application to the morning (closed the Saturday and the Sunday). In the Building Piccolomini,
in typical Florentine Renaissance style, this museum preserves the ancient tables of the government ledger
books and a collection of ancient books and manuscripts.
Baptistery
The Baptistery as construction, go up again to 1316-1325 and constitute a sort of crypt of the same
Cathedral. It is a suggestive separated environment in three aisles, with the
times; among these paintings those detach performed by Lorenzo di Pietro, says
the Oldie, that they represent Prophets and Sibille, the Apostles and the truths of
the Catholic Creed. These paintings were still performed between 1447 and 1450

The Ghiberti worked the tiles representing the Baptism of Jesus and the capture of S. Giovanni Battista,
while in the 1427 Donatello, in the representing tile the banquet of it Erodes, he left a superb essay of the
new Renaissance art, both in his technical one man show to bas-relief he dictates 'crushed', both in the
multiplication of the perspective plans.
Museum of the work of the Cathedral
Placed in the place in which it would have had to be the Cathedral. Sacred works of an inclusive period

Museum of the Society Executive Pious Dispositions
Had opened to the public since 1938, this museum it contains an interesting collection of works of art of the

Botanical garden
The Botanical garden is situated inside the surrounded building
of Siena, in the valley of Sant'Agostino, that opens among
Porta Tufi and Porta St. Marco. The garden is present in this
center from 1856 and today covers a surface of two hectares
and a half for the more in slope, exposed to west. The
recognition of the cultivated plants inside the garden is
facilitated by labels that they bring the scientific name of it, the
possible vulgar name and they furnish information on the
family and on the areale of distribution. The autochtonous
plants are labeled with white labels, those exotic with yellow labels.
Building of the Papesses - Center of Contemporary Art
This museum is situated otherwise in the known Building Piccolomini. The Museum in Siena of the
contemporary art offers exposure seasonal and educational activity for the whole year.
Pinacoteca Nazionale
This museum entertains the greatest collection of pictures of the school senese, among which also the great

Sanctuary Of Saint Caterina Da Siena
This famous place was once the house of Saint Caterina. To the inside you can see the oratory of the Kitchen
(built around the 1482), that was the kitchen of the family and the oratory of the Chamber, where the Saint
patrona in Siena used to rest.
Saint Maria della Scala Complex museale
What today is a museum, has been the first hospital in Europe, that offered hospitality to the pilgrims and it
