This chapter explores Renaissance art in 16th century Italy, which includes architecture, painting, sculpture and fresco. The major commissioned of this period occur primarily in Milan, Florence, Venice, Mantua, and Vatican City in Rome. Becoming familiar with Renaissance art will allow you to see how modern art began. This chapter contains many of the biggest names in all of art history. NOTE: Be prepared for some REVIEW QUESTIONS on the Chapter Test.
